Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Handler Craig Roberts was questioned in regards to the late kennelling of SOSAN in Race 10. His explanation was accepted on this occasion but the kennel was informed that any further indiscretions in this regards will result in a charge being laid.

Race 1	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390	WYNDHAM and OPAWA DOLL were the last to jump. OZARKS CROWN ran outwards in the early stages pushing PLAY PRETEND wider on the track. Into the bend OPAWA DOLL was tightened and dropped to the rear. WYNDHAM got on the back of PLAY PRETEND soon after dragging that runner down with PLAY PRETEND dropping to the rear. KING LEO ducked outwards closer in and checked NEW INGILLTAB who lost momentum. OPAWA DOLL was again checked on the home turn losing ground. Post race veterinary checks of KING LEO, PLAY PRETEND and OPAWA DOLL revealed slight discomfort to the gracilis of KING LEO with a five day stand down recommended. PLAY PRETEND was found to have a sore cranial thigh muscle with a fourteen day stand down recommended. OPAWA DOLL was free of injury.
Race 2	CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C1 - 390	BELLA ENFORCER was the last to jump. In the run to the bend JAFFA GUN angled inwards tightening SOCRATES who in turn badly checked HAMPDEN SPIRIT who stumbled and nearly fell. On the bend RULEBOOK RAY came together with STARBURST LEE and FIRESIDE FOX who both lost ground with BELLA ENFORCER being forced wide to avoid these runners. A post race veterinary check of HAMPDEN SPIRIT revealed no injury.
Race 3	BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C1 - 390	CEE CEE ARE came together with MERMAN JEWEL soon after the jump and dropped to the rear. This dog was forced wide on the bend covering extra ground. BLACK JAY was tightened into the bend and lost momentum.
Race 4	COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C1 - 457	BRASSED OFF was the last to jump while kennelmate MY BLIND SIDE was tightened soon after the jump and dropped to the rear. He did well to finish fourth. SHADOW WOLF ran outwards into the bend checking his sister MISS OZARK who lost ground with BRASSED OFF also being badly inconvenienced at this stage. SHADOW WOLF was dragged down as a result of this incident with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury.
Race 5	WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C2 - 390	LIFE WITH DEXTER checked outwards soon after the jump off the back of TUI HOTLIPS and dropped to the rear. HOT MANGO ran inwards in the run to the bend checking HOMEBUSH KITTY who lost ground. Soon after HOMEBUSH KITTY and TUI HOTLIPS came together when in tight quarters with both runners losing momentum.
Race 6	ADDED ENERGY - C2 - 457	ICEBERG RAPPER was very slow from the outside box settling a clear last. She made ground for fourth. SLIGHTLY AMAZING was keen to get to the outside in the back straight checking KINGSTON FLYER and HOMEBUSH IRIS in the process with these two runners losing ground. Into the bend SLIGHTLY AMAZING checked outwards off the back of ICEBERG RAPPER on to HOMEBUSH IRIS who dropped to the rear.
Race 7	$26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C3 - 390	WALK DA TORQUE ran outwards checking ANYTIME WILL DO in the early stages. Soon after CREPE MYRTLE also ran outwards tightening WALK DA TORQUE and CAWBOURNE HARVEY. As WALK DA TORQUE was recovering from this check GENISTA LIGHTNIN came into contact with the back of WALK DA TORQUE and suffered a nasty check dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of GENISTA LIGHTNIN revealed no injury.
Race 8	100% SELECTRIX - C3 - 390	KINGA COOP angled inwards in the early stages tightening REAL FIRE POWER and ROSCA. Soon after ANOTHER LEGIN ran outwards with REAL FIRE POWER and ROSCA again being inconvenienced and dropping to the rear along with ANOTHER LEGIN. Handler Craig Roberts was questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner MAGIC YOU. He stated that the dog had been freshened and this together with the dog inside it running inwards creating room were factors.
Race 9	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C4/5 - 457	SHUNT APPEAL ran outwards into the bend checking MORIARTY who lost some momentum. In the home straight BLACK SHELLEEN was checked when racing in behind OUR BEOWULF and dropped to the rear. A post race veterinary check of BLACK SHELLEEN revealed no injury.
Race 10	$50 LEATHER LEADS - C4 - 390	TEPIRITA TIKI ran outwards soon after the jump tightening ANOTHER GON and CAUGHT THE EYE for a stride. Into the bend HOMEBUSH REECE, the favourite ASSERT and ANOTHER GON were all tightened as CAUGHT THE EYE crossed from an outside draw. GENISTA OUTLAW on the inside also lost ground on the inside. ASSERT was again checked on the bend and ran wide losing ground. Blair Shaw the Trainer of the winner TEPIRITA TIKI was questioned in regards to the dog's improved performance. He stated that the dog fell two starts ago and last start was badly checked losing his chance. His return to his favourite track was also a factor in today's win.
Race 11	ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C4 - 390	ANOTHER BREEZE ran inwards soon after the jump tightening MATES UNITE, GENISTA TORNADO, GOSS SAGE and SORRY VANDERFORD with all of these runners losing ground. Into the bend ANOTHER BREEZE was checked as DYNA GROLL angled outwards with MATES UNITE again being checked in behind these runners.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C5 - 390	HONKING HORNS was the last to jump. SANTA SLOY was checked soon after the jump settling last. Into the bend HONKING HORNS and CAWBOURNE FELIX came together. HONKING HORNS did well to finish fifth close up behind the placegetters.
