| Race 1 | Otago First4 Sprint - C1 - 310 | GOTTA FIND BUBBA was difficult to box in this event. The favourite PURE THEATRE, GOTTA FIND BUBBA and DADDYS MISTAKE were the last to jump. GOTTA FIND BUBBA ran outwards in the run down the back straight coming together with FIRESIDE FOX and DADDYS MISTAKE with these runners losing ground. Into the bend PURE THEATRE ran outwards checking OPAWA JACK and pushing that dog wider around the bend. Just after the finish OPAWA JACK took a heavy fall with a post race veterinary check revealing concusiion with a seven day stand down recommended. |
| Race 2 | www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C0 - 310 | The favourite WISE WONDER and BELFAST CHUKKA were the last to jump. Into the bend HIT THE LIP ran inwards resulting in her together with FERAL FOX and PLAY PRETEND all being checked. In behind these runners OZARKS CROWN and BELFAST CHUKKA came together. |
| Race 3 | Kobey Jones Mason Stakes - C1 - 545 | MEECES TO PIECES and MISS OZARK were the last to find their paws. OKUKU SURPRISE and FELIXSTOWE came together for a stride in the early stages. |
| Race 4 | Keyosk Service Bar Sprint - C1 - 310 | SOCRATES and HAMPDEN SPIRIT were the last to jump. SOCRATES checked outwards off runners into the bend severely checking HAMPDEN SPIRIT and PADDO SCORE with HAMPDEN SPIRIT falling as a result. Post race veterinary checks of PADDO SCORE and HAMPDEN SPIRIT revealed no injuries. |
| Race 5 | Norwood Farm Machinery Sprint - C2 - 310 | COOLS THE TUNE was last to jump. STARBURST LEE and BILLY DABYNE came together for a stride soon after the jump. The favourite RANGITOTO ROHI and COOLS THE TUNE jostled for a few strides when in tight quarters with both dogs losing momentum. |
| Race 6 | Roofing Solutions Stakes - C2/3 - 545 | OPAWA FLYER and MORNING WATCH were the last to jump. Into the first bend SLIGHTLY AMAZING ran outwards pushing OPAWA FLYER, WALK DA TORQUE and MORNING WATCH even wider with these four runners losing their winning chances. Of these dogs WALK DA TORQUE made up ground to be in behind the placegetters. |
| Race 7 | Speedprint Shop Sprint - C3 - 310 | DOGGER BANK was very slow to jump and JOHNNIE GEORGE came up with the lids and also settled towards the rear. SING CILLA BLACK ran outwards in the early stages contacting the favourite WHAT A PEANUT who lost ground. ANOTHER LEGIN was checked and lost ground at the end of the back straight as kennelmate WHAT A PEANUT ran inwards. Soon after WHAT A PEANUT checked off runners losing momentum. SING CILLA BLACK dropped out in the run home to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. Richard Breen the trainer of the winner BLACK MERCEDES was questioned in regards to this bitch's improved performance. He told Stewards that she had improved with her fresh up run of 10 January and was aided today by the inside pair of runners missing the jump. |
| Race 8 | Otago Trotting Trainers & Owners Dash - C5 - 310 | THRILLING CLOVER was the last to jump. This dog remained last throughout with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. The favourite OUR BEOWULF and SORRY VANDERFORD came together soon after the jump losing momentum. ENABLE ran wide on the home turn and lost ground. |
| Race 9 | Dave Robbie Photographer Stakes - C4 - 545 | ITS NOT EASY was last to jump. In the early stages WODSTON BOBO ran outwards checking BLACK SHELLEEN who lost ground. Soon after KNOW PERIL angled outwards tightening WODSTON BOBO and WATERVIEW LASS with this runner contacting HAMPDEN JACK wider out. Into the first bend ITS NOT EASY checked outwards off runners and lost ground. |
| Race 10 | St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C4 - 310 | GUY BAXTER was the last to jump. Into the bend RAISINS shifted inwards checking GOSS SAGE and then came outwards into the line of ANOTHER GON who was unable to avoid him and fell. A post race veterinary check of ANOTHER GON revealed back soreness with a seven day stand down recommended. |
| Race 11 | A F Johnston Electrical Ltd - C3 - 310 | REAL FIRE POWER was awkwardly away and settled last. BONUS BOND was checked and lost ground in the back straight as CLUTTER BUG ducked inwards. In the home straight OKUKU OLLIE ran inwards as JACKPOT JACKIE shifted slightly outwards with OKUKU OLLIE losing some momentum. Stephen Whall the person in charge of the winner JACKPOT JACKIE reported that this was her first start since being in season and that she had been working well of late. The wider draw and her liking for the Forbury track were also factors in her improved performance. |
| Race 12 | Racing Again Tuesday 7th Feb Sprint - C5 - 310 | HOMEBUSH SARGE, COOL JORDIE and SANTA SLOY were the last trio at the jump. |
