| Race 1 | www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390 | HARDZ INGILLTAB was the last to jump. ANOTHER RAEWYN crossed quickly from an outside draw and tightened HIT THE LIP and RUN ALAN who dropped to the rear. HARES HOPING was tightened into the bend and lost ground. |
| Race 2 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C0 - 457 | KYANN made contact with PLAY PRETEND for a stride soon after the jump. Into the bend WATTIE and SECRET NICOLE came together when towards the rear. |
| Race 3 | CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C1 - 390 | KUNG FU TEDDY was last to jump. HOT MANGO crossed abruptly from an outside draw and tightened HAMPDEN SPIRIT and KUNG FU TEDDY for a few strides. Into the bend KUNG FU TEDDY was tightened momentarily and lost momentum. |
| Race 4 | WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C1 - 390 | FIRESIDE FOX was a clear last on jumping. RANGITOTO ROHI moved inwards marginally into the bend causing a slight check to CEE CEE ARE who was then dragged down by an improving FIRESIDE FOX and fell. BLACK OZARK was also dragged down from behind as CEE CEE ARE fell with BRASSED OFF receiving a check and losing ground. CEE CEE ARE regained his paws and completed the race with post race veterinary checks on him and BLACK OZARK revealing muscular soreness in the left thigh of CEE CEE ARE with a five day stand down recommended. BLACK OZARK was cleared of any injury. |
| Race 5 | ADDED ENERGY - C1 - 457 | FOGGY STORM and MEECES TO PIECES were the last to jump. SHADOW WOLF ran outwards in the back straight coming together initially with UNSHAKEN who was angling inwards. The favourite DOOSRA then made contact with SHADOW WOLF with these two runners jostling for position for a few strides with FOGGY STORM also wanting to get to the outside. SHADOW WOLF was then badly tightened between these runners and lost ground by running wide. As a result DOOSRA lost ground and settled well back. The pacemaking PURE THEATRE ran wide on the home turn and lost ground. Shortly after the winning post DOOSRA ducked inwards and made solid contact with the inside fence with a post race veterinary check revealing pectoral muscle pain with a seven day stand down recommended. |
| Race 6 | COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C3/4 - 390 | This race was delayed by two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. HOMEBUSH REECE, VAMPIRES SHADOW and GEORGIE LEE was slow to jump. Into the bend the pacemaking MYRA BEE eased and dropped out to the rear running on again when the rest of the field had overtaken her. A post race veterinary check revealed a small laceration and some pain on extension of limbs. However as this only attracted a recommended stand down of seven days MYRA BEE was charged with failing to pursue the lure. Trainer Bronwyn Eade admitted the charge with MYRA BEE being suspended for 28 days under Rule 80.1.b. This dog must also complete a satisfactory trial before her next race. |
| Race 7 | 100% SELECTRIX - C2 - 457 | RONRAY CRUISER and MAXIMUM JEWEL came together soon after the jump with RONRAY CRUISER being forced inwards on to KINGSTON FLYER and SLIGHTLY AMAZING with KINGSTON FLYER dropping to the rear. Into the bend RED TIGER ran outwards cannoning into SEA SPRAY TICH who lost ground. A post race veterinary check of SEA SPRAY TICH revealed no injury. Matt Roberts the trainer of the winner WALK DA TORQUE informed Stewards that this dog appreciated the drop back in distance today and that he would be restricting him to middle distance racing in the near future. |
| Race 8 | ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C3 - 390 | SURFER CHICK was last to jump. CREPE MYRTLE ran outwards into the bend checking REAL FIRE POWER with SALVADOR BALE and TORQUED UP both being pushed wide and losing ground. REAL FIRE POWER and SURFER CHICK came together for a stride on the home turn when well back. Following the race HERE EYE AM collapsed and died of a suspected heart attack with an autopsy to be performed to confirm the cause of death. |
| Race 9 | $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C2 - 390 | ERICS SONG dropped to the rear soon after the jump. This runner then scouted wide into the bend losing ground and remaining last. |
| Race 10 | $50 LEATHER LEADS - C3/4 - 390 | ANOTHER BREEZE angled inwards soon after the jump pushing ALWAYS A STORY and MISS CHANDON to the inside with these runners losing ground. MISS CHANDON was then tightened for a stride in the home straight losing momentum. |
| Race 11 | KELVIN HOTEL - C3/4 - 457 | OPAWA FLYER was last to jump. BASILIO BALE angled outwards in the early stages making contact with WODSTON BOBO for a stride and pushing ITS NOT EASY, GEOFF THE REF and BLACK SHELLEEN wider. Into the bend WODSTON BOBO ran outwards and pushed GEOFF THE REF and BLACK SHELLEEN wide again with these runners losing ground. Trainer Matt Roberts was questioned in regards to the improved effort of the winner BASILIO BALE. He stated that the dog seemed to prefer the one turn tracks and in future would be racing more often on these type of tracks. He also said that the dog had lost a kilo in weight and recently been downgraded with that also helping for todays performance. |
| Race 12 | justracing.com.au - C5 - 390 | OPAWA COLLAR and ANOTHER MATE came together in the run to the bend with ANOTHER MATE then being checked from behind on the bend and dropping to the rear. |
