Judicial report: Trainer J.McInerney was fined $ 50-00 under Rule 88.1 o ( Negligence ) for a breach of Rule 69.4 when the registration papers for CAWBOURNE COL ( RACE 9 ) were not presented. The kennel had been issued with a warning recently in relation to breaches of the Rule.

Race 1 | Allied Work Force 0800 Labour C0 - C0 - 305 | ZACCARA and BLAIR NINETY jostled together for several strides soon after the start and settled back in the field. TIME FOR LIVIN faltered on the first corner and went back, was galloped on by ZACCARA and fell heavily with ZACCARA losing several lengths and all chance. TIME FOR LIVIN was examined by the Vet, found to have tricep swelling and slight paralysis and was stood down for 14 days. KING LEO was slow to begin losing three lengths and was then checked on the first corner losing further ground and finished well back. |
Race 2 | Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 305 | The favourite TE POPO JOE was one of the slowest to begin. LISSADELL JASPER was handy to the first corner but was checked and went back causing checks to OPEHU TIGER and TE POPO JOE and they lost several lengths and finished in the last three places. ONEPU TIGER was checked and fell soon after the finish line and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with pain over the lumbar muscles. |
Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron C0 Final - C0f - 305 | CHEMICALLY FREE began awkwardly losing three lengths and he then raced wide covering extra ground and finished in the rear group. MIGHTY FORTUNE shifted out and STONES RIVER shifted in from the start and this resulted in checks to STRAPPED FOR CASH, HUSKY HAKA and NOVAS FORTUNE. Soon after, SHALF shifted in and caused further checks to those mentioned and also to STONES RIVER and they all lost ground. |
Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) C0 - C0 - 305 | RUSTY SAM was slow to begin losing three lengths and he stayed back throughout to finish in last place. GERARD HAKA shifted in and brushed against the rail on the first corner and then made contact with the rail again and bounced off after the finish line. He was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. |
Race 5 | Mickeys Super Liquor C2 - C2 - 305 | BABY FALOU and SINGLE SCULLER jostled together for several strides going to the first corner and SINGLE SCULLER was eventually checked back to last. MEGA RUSH who was following was also checked and then ran wide and they finished at the rear. |
Race 6 | Palamountains Nutrition C1 - C1 - 305 | HOMEBUSH SIENNA went up with the box lids and lost ground. BULET TOOTH TONY, HOMEBUSH BORIS and HOMEBUSH CECIL collided soon after the start and lost momentum. BILLY HAKA, BULET TOOTH TONY and BOND ECLIPSE bumped together going into the bend and all three dogs lost ground. One of the favourites HOMEBUSH TIME held a good lead in the early and middle stages but then drifted and eventually finished in 6th place. She was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |
Race 7 | Keenan Concrete C1 - C1 - 520 | SHARKIES DREAM and PRINCE PARADE were slow to begin losing four lengths. RED HERRING and CAWBOURNE HEIDI had led the field from early in the race but collided entering the back straight and RED HERRING went back to the rear and finished in that position. CAWBOURNE HEIDI also lost ground in the incident and finished 6th. RED HERRING was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. |
Race 8 | Media Works C2 - C2 - 305 | CAWBOURNE SMUDGE shifted in on the first corner and checked THUNDA THIGHS and HOMEBUSH EDITH and they went back to the rear and finished in 5th and 7th placings. |
Race 9 | Wanganui Security C1 - C1 - 305 | HOMEBUSH GWEN shifted out from the start and checked CAWBOURNE COL who shifted in soon after and collided with SAUCY TOMATO and they both lost ground. HOMEBUSH SCOTTY and HOMEBUSH GWEN bumped together on the first corner and HOMEBUSH GWEN went back causing checks to SAUCY TOMATO and CAWBOURNE COL with all three losing ground and they finished in the rear group. |
Race 10 | Broad Roofing C1 - C1 - 520 | SLICE OF MAGIC was slow to begin and was in last place with a circuit to run but gradually made up ground to finish in 3rd place. BIG GIRL WELSHY was checked entering the final bend losing four lengths and finished in the rear group. |
Race 11 | Gary Ross Decorator C1 - C1 - 305 | The favourite NEW ORDER was a little slow to begin and was checked soon after when OH EMM EYE shifted out and she lost three lengths but recovered very well to finish in 2nd place. HOMEBUSH GAZEL checked off the heels of CRYSTAL SAL going into the bend and lost two lengths. |
Race 12 | GEON Wellington C1 - C1 - 305 | ANOTHER HIT was a little slow to begin losing ground. FAWN ALLEGRO and TIZA FEVER were checked on the first corner with both losing ground and they finished at the rear. |
