Judicial report: BOTANY MATTHEW, an entrant in race 5 was presented without registration papers and was allowed to start as the Stewards were satisfied that the brands and markings correctly identified it as the correct dog. However, the kennel representatives Mr G.Tapiki and Ms K.Gommans were firmly reminded of the kennels obligation to ensure that the papers are presented and that the Stewards will not take such a lenient attitude in future if there is a further breach of the Rule relating to presentation of papers.
Trainer B.O'Connell was spoken to and advised that a vast improvement was required in the form of her three runners in race one, namely BOHRAN CAILIN, CLUAIN MEALA and CLANG AND BANG who finished in the last three places and whose recent form had been poor.

Race 1	Allied Work Force 0800 Labour C0 - C0 - 305	The favourite CLANG AND BANG drifted off the back of the field immedeately the start was made and he finished several lengths last and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. BODHRAN CAILIN and CLUAIN MEALA bumped together and lost ground in the run to the first corner. LISSADELL JASPER and THAT IS ALL collided on the first corner and THAT IS ALL dropped back causing a check to BODHRAN CAILIN who lost ground.
Race 2	Harrison Hire Master C1 - C1 - 305	BOND ECLIPSE and HOMEBUSH ROSEBUD were slow to begin and they then bumped together soon after and HOMEBUSH ROSEBUD suffered the most and she lost two lengths in the incident.
Race 3	Guthrie Bowron C1 - C1 - 520	SHERMAN FLYER shifted in from the start and checked JUST MAC who went back to the rear. SHERMAN FLYER and THRILLING LEWIS collided on the first corner and THRILLING LEWIS dropped back onto REGAL STEP who was checked back to last. JUST MAC checked off the heels of THRILLING LEWIS on the first bend and again on the last bend and they finished in the last two places.
Race 4	Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C1 - C1 - 305	NICKI HAKA began very awkwardly losing several lengths and all chance but she did make up ground to finish in 7th place. NIKI HAKA was examined by the Vet and found to have a bleeding wart on a hind toe but no stand down was required. SAFFRON FLAHERTY shifted out on the home turn and checked DOUBLE TAPP who lost ground and finished in last place. OH EMM EYE ran wide into the home straight and forced HOMEBUSH BRITNEY to cover extra ground.
Race 5	Mickeys Super Liquor C2/3 - C2/3 - 520	BOTANY MATTHEW and RONAN MACHALL collided at the start and RONAN MACHALL lost ground and settled near the rear. The favourite BIG EFFORT was checked with a circuit to run losing three lengths and went back to last. BIG EFFORT was checked again on the first bend losing another three lengths and he never recovered and finished in last place.
Race 6	Palamountains Nutrition C3 - C3 - 305	BOMBER MAN was handy going to the first corner but was checked as CAWBOURNE FLICK shifted in and he lost three lengths. SOOTY'S ESTATE was handy to the lead on the bend but bumped with MY GIRL MARINA and lost four lengths. She then ran very wide into the home straight covering extra ground and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 7	Media Works C5 - C5 - 305	TWENTY SIXTY, PRINCESS SNOWY and MOODY MAN were a little slow to begin losing two lengths. PRINCESS SNOWY was checked losing two lengths on the first corner when MOODY MAN shifted in towards the rail.
Race 8	Wanganui Security C5 - C5 - 305	SPEEDY LEESHELLE and STATELY BABE were a little slow to begin. STATELY BABE then checked off the heels of SPEEDY LEESHELLE going to the first corner and lost three lengths and she stayed back to finish in last place. SPEEDY LEESHELLE continued to improve after being slow away but had to shift out on the bend to avoid the heels of PALOMINE and collided with CIAO FOR NOW with both dogs losing momentum.
Race 9	Keenan Concrete C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	The favourite TARRA MAGIC began awkwardly and settled towards the rear. She was then awkwardly placed inside WANDY KYLE going towards the back straight but once into clear racing room, she finished well for 4th placing. WANDY KYLE was checked and lost ground entering the back straight and he stayed back to finish at the rear.
Race 10	Broad Roofing C2 - C2 - 305	HOMEBUSH NELSON and HOMEBUSH DIP were slow to begin losing five lengths and they stayed back to finish at the rear. FLOATING AWAY started from box 8 and she raced wide throughout covering extra ground and finished in 6th place.
Race 11	Gary Ross Decorator C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	PIN UP PUPPY and SEDGEBROOK ELITE were slow to begin losing three lengths. SEDGEBROOK ELITE then checked off the heels of HOMEBUSH JEM on the first corner losing a further two lengths. PIN UP PUPPY made contact with the rail on the first corner losing three lengths and he stayed back to finish in last place, was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 12	GEON Wellington C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	KEACHY'S MATE galloped on the back of SAFE AND SECURE on the bend and they both lost ground with KEACHY'S MATE being the most affected and he went back onto HOMEBUSH BRUCE and they stayed back to finish at the rear. LOTTO BIFF ran very wide into the home straight covering extra griound but he fought back well to deadheat for 1st place.
