| Race 1 | www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C4 - 390 | GENISTA LIGHTNIN and WHERES JOHN CEE were both tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear. On the home turn VAMPIRES SHADOW ran wide pushing WHERES JOHN CEE over extra ground. |
| Race 2 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C0 - 390 | RUN ALAN was checked soon after the jump as FURIOUS RESPONSE crossed from his outside. PURE THEATRE checked off the back of littermate FURIOUS RESPONSE into the bend and lost a few lengths. On the home turn RUN ALAN and MEMPHIS HOTCAKES came together and lost momentum while wider out OPAWA PRINCE got on heels and lost ground. HIT THE LIP ran wide into the home straight. Marginally short of the finishing line OPAWA PRINCE got on the back of FERAL FOX dragging that runner down for a stride. |
| Race 3 | 100% SELECTRIX - C1 - 390 | HOUSTON was last to jump. Into the bend an improving HOUSTON ran inwards checking CAWBOURNE BUNDY while simultaneously WHAT WHERE WHEN checked outwards off JAFFA GUN. The result of this was CAWBOURNE BUNDY falling with WHAT WHERE WHEN and VITALIZE receiving severe checks and losing their chances. HOUSTON rattled home late for a close second. Post race veterinary checks were carried out on WHAT WHERE WHEN and CAWBOURNE BUNDY. WHAT WHERE WHEN was found to have a swollen and possibly fractured hock with a 28 day stand down recommended. CAWBOURNE BUNDY was free of injury. |
| Race 4 | COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C1 - 390 | CAWBOURNE HEIDI was the last to jump. Into the first bend ICEBERG RAPPER, PEGSON FIRE and CAWBOURNE HEIDI all received some buffeting and lost ground. |
| Race 5 | $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C2 - 390 | JIMMY CEE and BLACK TRIGGER were slow to jump. Following the race TRICKY HARRY was found to have thigh muscle bruising and pain with a seven day stand down recommended. |
| Race 6 | ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C3 - 390 | SLIGHTLY AMAZING was checked into the bend as HOMEBUSH SARINA crossed from her outside. SLIGHTLY AMAZING was then dragged down from behind soon after and dropped to the rear. ANOTHER LEGIN ran outwards into the bend checking CAWBOURNE HARVEY who lost ground. A post race veterinary check of SLIGHTLY AMAZING revealed no injury. Trainer John McInerney told Stewards that a recent downgrade and today's smaller field allowing his bitch to gain clear early racing room helped with her improvement. |
| Race 7 | BRENDON BURKE @ SOUTHERNWIDE - C3 - 390 | HOMEBUSH BATMAN was last to jump. Marcie Flipp the trainer of the winner BENJI LAFOURCHE was questioned in regards to the dog's improved performance. She told Stewards that the dog had been freshened and downgraded and racing back on his favourite track with all of these factors combining in today's win. |
| Race 8 | ADDED ENERGY - C1 - 457 | MY BLIND SIDE and WAVE YA HAND came together in the early stages. OKUKU SKYHIGH appeared to clip the rail into the bend with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. WAVE YA HAND ran wide on the home bend and in the straight losing ground. OLD OZARK drifted in the early stages in an effort to get to the outside and then ran very wide for the remainder of the race finishing a long last. A post race veterinary check of this dog revealed no injury. Trainer John Guthrie was shown the film of the race in regards to the performance of OLD OZARK. He informed Stewards that the dog had been working well at home and that he was disappointed with the run. He stated that would give the dog a brief spell with Stewards informing him that a more competitive effort would be expected at his next start. |
| Race 9 | $25 YARD MUZZLE STAKES - C2/3 - 457 | This race was delayed by two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. HOMEBUSH WILD and BIG GIRL WELSHY were the last to jump. OPAWA JOHNNY and HERE EYE AM came together for a stride soon after the jump. KINGSTON FLYER was found to have a laceration at the base of his right fore foot requiring staples with a ten day stand down recommended. |
| Race 10 | WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C4/5 - 457 | This race was delayed by one minute at the request of Raceday Control. The race was all clear. |
| Race 11 | Catfishpanky Southland Distance - C2d - 630 | SHAKEY BAKE ran wide into the first bend. On the first bend WEARY TRAVELER came off the fence and into the path of RINGOS COLT who clipped his heels and fell. MORIARTY and SHAKEY BAKE were both badly checked in this incident and lost their chances. RINGOS COLT regained his paws quickly and completed the race with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. |
| Race 12 | justracing.com.au - C5 - 390 | MUSTARD FUDGE ran outwards coming together with HOMEBUSH REECE soon after the jump. HOMEBUSH REECE then angled inwards contacting his kennelmate CHEETAH WOODS for a stride. MUSTARD FUDGE ran wide into the home straight but ran on well late. |
