Weather: FineTrack: Good Handler Kerry O'Connor hit her head on an advertising billboard which was situated close to the track at the sprint boxes. She suffered no injury but a foam noodle was placed on the billboard for safety reasons prior to the next event.

Race 1 | Super Pets Sprint - C1 - 295 | ENABLE and HOMEBUSH NORMAN were the last to jump. ENABLE was then held up when looking for racing room in the run to the turn with this dog checking wide and pushing HOMEBUSH NORMAN wide around that bend. MAKE YOUR MARK was tightened into the bend. ANOTHER HIT was dragged down for a stride into the bend losing momentum and then came together with BELFAST SUZY with both runners losing ground. |
Race 2 | Challenge Opawa All Up Sprint - C0 - 295 | BIGTIME YAHOO weighed in 1.9kgs under his last race weight with this being a planned weight reduction for his new trainers. TOP NOTCH SOPHIE was the last to jump. JOHNNYS BLUE received a slight check when coming together with OHOKA GERRY into the bend. |
Race 3 | Little Brown Jug Maiden - C0q - 520 Heat 1 | THEOKOLES was last to jump. WOT PRICE CURLY and SHAME ON EAMON were both checked into the first bend when racing in tight quarters with these runners both skirting wide into the bend. SEA SPRAY DORIS was also forced wide around this bend and lost ground. WOT PRICE CURLY checked off a runner on the final bend and dropped out to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. CAPTAIN PHIL and SURF QUAKE came together on the home turn and lost some momentum. |
Race 4 | Shirley Veterinary Centre Dash - C0 - 295 | OKUKU ZIP and MAN OH MAN were the last to jump. |
Race 5 | Little Brown Jug Maiden - C0q - 520 Heat 2 | KOMBUCHA received a check soon after the jump and settled last. PIED WARRIOR and LEGEND BEE came together into the first bend with PIED WARRIOR being draggted down and losing ground. LEGEND BEE ran wide after this incident and lost ground. |
Race 6 | Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C1 - 295 | LOTSA STYLE stumbled soon after the jump. In the early stages KNOW TRUST ran outwards and checked LOTSA STYLE for a stride. |
Race 7 | Addington Events Centre Dash - C1 - 295 | HOMEBUSH BRITNEY was very awkwardly away settling last. A post race veterinary check of this dog revealed no injury. KNOW ESCAPE was also slow away. When improving around the outside KNOW ESCAPE came together with CAWBOURNE TANK and lost momentum. On the home turn GLENMORE LASS, LIAM TITLE and HOMEBUSH BRITNEY all came together when at the tail of the field. |
Race 8 | Jet Pets Dash - C2 - 295 | SHARI JEWEL checked outwards off the back of OKUKU BOBO into the bend and ran outwards causing APATCHIE SCOTT, WANDY OLIVIA and MY GIRL MARINA to be forced wider and lose their chances. |
Race 9 | Dave Robbie Photographer Stakes - C1 - 520 | JUST TEASING was the last away from the inside. MAXIMUM JEWEL was checked soon after the jump as LINDOP shifted outwards on the track. Into the first bend FELIXSTOWE checked outwards off the back of OPAWA STYLE and caused inconvenience to MAXIMUM JEWEL, HOMEBUSH IRIS and NAEVIA. |
Race 10 | Flair Sprint - C1 - 295 | MR. BIG STUFF and JED NORTON were both slow from the inside traps but both recovered quickly to be handy into the bend. Wider out ADINI ran outwards into the bend and pushed BEAT THE FOURCHE wider. BABY FALOU then pushed up inside of BEAT THE FOURCHE with that runner being forced even wider and dropping out. A post race veterinary check of BEAT THE FOURCHE revealed no injury. |
Race 11 | www.racingdogs.co.nz Stakes - C1 - 520 | UNSHAKEN was last to jump. Into the first bend the favourite KNOW FUTURE suffered a nasty check when racing to the outside of UNSHAKEN who had improved along the rail. UNSHAKEN ran into the back of BOTANY HORNET out of the back straight when improving and lost momentum. In the home straight KNOW FUTURE jumped on the back of a tiring HOMEBUSH EDITH with both dogs were well back. Post race veterinary checks of these two dogs revealed no injuries. |
Race 12 | Speight's Sprint - C2 - 295 | The favourite KNOW ADVANTAGE was a shade slow from the inside with HOMEBUSH NICK also dwelling at the start. KNOW ADVANTAGE was keen to get away from the rail into the bend and in doing so checked HOMEBUSH DIGBY and HOMEBUSH NICK who lost ground and their chances. When in the clear KNOW ADVANTAGE made ground stylishly for third. MEANDER charged at the lure at the completion of the race and broke his muzzle with a post race veterinary check revealing no injuries. |
