Race 1 Otago First 4 Sprint - C1 - 310 MR. CAMEROON was last to jump. When improving MR. CAMEROON ran outwards prior to the bend and pushed COT CASE CUTIE outwards on to COOLS THE TUNE who lost ground.
Race 2 Commercial Tavern Stakes - C0 - 545 HOOTA SAID was last to jump. VITALIZE was keen to run outwards into the bends losing ground.
Race 3 Roofing Solutions Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310 HIT THE LIP and NEW ORDER was slow to jump with HOMEBUSH SIENNA very slow settling last. NEW ORDER wanted to run wide when improving into the bend pushing OZARKS CROWN outwards into the path of the favourite SECRET VENUS who stumbled on the bend losing her chance. A post race veterinary check of SECRET VENUS revealed no injury.
Race 4 Speedprint Shop Sprint - C0 - 310 OKUKU WEE MAN and HAMPDEN PRIDE were both slow to jump. APPRAISED and WATCH DUTCH GAYE came together on two occasions in the back straight with WATCH DUTCH GAYE dropping away and finishing a long last. A post race veterinary check of WATCH DUTCH GAYE revealed a sore shoulder with a ten day stand down recommended. HURRY HOME checked off the back of BELFAST CHUKKA prior to the home turn losing a length. On the home turn OKUKU WEE MAN ran outwards checking the favourite MAN OH MAN who lost some momentum.
Race 5 www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C1 - 545 SLIGHTLY AMAZING ran outwards in the early stages making firm contact with KNOW FUTURE and losing ground. Into the first bend CAWBOURNE HEIDI when racing in a handy position was dragged down from behind losing ground and dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of CAWBOURNE HEIDI revealed no injury. The favourite ARCHIES JET was shifted wider on the track in the early stages and got well back in the running but made ground late for fourth. When questioned in regards to this run co-trainer Janine Jopson stated that the dog is on his way back from injury and better suited to a longer distance. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner SWEET APPEAL she stated that the dog is always hard to beat when she jumps well as the case was today. Her comments in regards to these runners were noted.
Race 6 St Kilda tavern Sprint - C1 - 310 The favourite ALS BEST MATE along with WHAT WHERE WHEN were the last to jump. ALS BEST MATE then ran outwards contacting HOMEBUSH KALAMA and lost ground. Into the bend UNCLE EARL and BARKING MAD came together for a stride when racing towards the rear.
