| Race 1 | Otago First4 Sprint - C0 - 310 | WATCH DUTCH GAYE and HAMPDEN PRIDE were very slow to jump and remained well back. The favourite COOL CHARMER was handy into the bend but ran very wide losing ground and her chance. Following the race the connections of WATCH DUTCH GAYE and HAMPDEN PRIDE were both advised that these dogs are required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 81 before next racing due to today's performances being considered unsatisfactory. |
| Race 2 | The Presidents Maiden Stakes - C0 - 545 | RED ROD was very slow from the inside and remained last throughout. OZARKS CROWN ran outwards at the jump and this combined with FUNNY MONEY running inwards ensured that the favourite DOOSRA was badly tightened and dropped to the rear. Into the first bend DOOSRA ran inwards tightening OZARKS CROWN and RED ROD with these runners being relegated to the rear. |
| Race 3 | www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C1 - 310 | REAL SLIM SHADY was last to jump. SENSITIVE LAND ran outwards in the early stages checking TOTALLY CONFUSED at the same time as CAWBOURNE CASEY ran inwards checking TOWER. SENSITIVE LAND and CAWBOURNE CASEY came together soon after with CAWBOURNE CASEY continuing to run inwards checking SECRET ICE for a stride. TOTALLY CONFUSED then angled in towards the rail tightening an improving REAL SLIM SHADY who dropped to the rear. SENSITIVE LAND and CAWBOURNE CASEY again came together on the bend. A post race veterinary check of SENSITIVE LAND revealed no injury. |
| Race 4 | Green Island Barber Sprint - C1 - 310 | JIMMY CEE and PADDO SCORE came together for a stride in the run down the back straight. OPAWA JACK was tightened into the bend and lost ground. |
| Race 5 | Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C1 - 545 | OPAWA JOHNNY was slow from the inside. MORE MODEL ran outwards soon after the jump badly tightening MY BLIND SIDE and MOREPORT SHANNON who lost ground. MY BLIND SIDE did exceptionally well to make up ground for third. |
| Race 6 | Keyosk Service Bar Sprint - C2 - 310 | BABY FALOU was mistakenly shown on the TAB website as being 1.7kgs over her last race weight when she actually weighed exactly the same. The public and TAB were informed of the correct weight. TEDDY NOVA was last to jump. BABY FALOU hit the rail into the bend and dropped out to last with a post race veterinary check revealing a sore right shoulder with a seven day stand down recommended. Payment of dividends was held up for a brief time while Stewards reviewed the film to check whether the boxes had been started manually instead of electronically. It was established that the boxes had opened in the correct fashion and placings were authorised. Starter Phil Hammond was advised to stand back from the boxes once the dogs were loaded so that no uncertainty would prevail in future. |
| Race 7 | Speedprint Shop Sprint - C3 - 310 | VAMPIRES SHADOW was last to jump. BIGTIME FORCE ran outwards into the bend and checked GENISTA LIGHTNIN with VAMPIRES SHADOW being inconvenienced in behind them. |
| Race 8 | Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Stakes - C2/3 - 545 | SLICE OF MAGIC was very slow to jump settling last. This dog made ground well to run second. LAGOON BEACH BOY ran outwards in the early stages checking WEARY TRAVELER who lost ground. WEARY TRAVELER was also checked when racing between dogs on the first bend and dropped to the rear. SLICE OF MAGIC was found to have a sore wrist following the race with a seven day stand down recommended. |
| Race 9 | Otago Bracelet - SPECA - 310 | CAWBOURNE CATCH was last to jump. Into the bend WHERES ROBYN angled down to the inside checking CAWBOURNE JODIE who was turned by this check. STARBURST SUZIE ran out of room at this stage and went over the top of CAWBOURNE JODIE falling heavily with BOTANY KELLY being badly impeded in behind. A post race veterinary check of STARBURST SUZIE revealed no injury. |
| Race 10 | Roofing Solutions Ltd Sprint - C4/5 - 310 | FOUR TO MIDNIGHT was tightened in the early stages and dropped to the rear. SUNSET BOMBER was keen to run outwards into the bend pushing NOBLE ENFORCER wider around that bend. |
| Race 11 | Forbury Fastnet - SPECA - 310 | CAWBOURNE MOFF ran inwards at the jump checking LES BAXTER and SIX TO MIDNIGHT who both dropped to the rear. On the home bend PERSIAN OIL came together with kennelmate PURE AND SPECIAL with both runners losing ground. |
| Race 12 | Go The All Blacks Sprint - C4 - 310 | FOUR BY TWO ran inwards at the jump causing BRUNO, TIGER HOODS and WHERES JOHN CEE to be checked. Into the bend TIGER HOODS ran inwards and made solid contact with the running rail dropping out to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing a sore shoulder with a seven day stand down recommended. |
