Judicial report: The Trainer of VISIONARY MAN Mr L.MacDonald advised the Stewards at 10.00 am on race morning that his dog was still in Race 7 as he was of the misunderstanding that the dog would be scratched once he had presented a Vet certificate. VISIONARY MAN was then declared a late scratching and Mr MacDonald was advised that it is his responsibility to contact the Club and scratch the dog in those circumstances. Due to Mr MacDonalds relative inexperience having only recently been issued with a licence and the fact that his mistake had not resulted in any other dog being denied a start, no further action was deemed necessary on this occasion.

Race 1	Awapuni Stakes C0 - C0 - 457	RONAN MACHALL shifted in sharply from the start and checked BIGTIME KINVARA and SASSAFRAS who both lost two lengths. BIGTIME KINVARA recovered to win well while SASSAFRAS finished in 5th place. BULLABAKANKA shifted in going to the first corner and checked HARRY HALL who lost four lengths. BULLABAKANKA and JOHNNYS BLUE came together on the bend when racing back in the field and they lost a little ground.
Race 2	GEON Wellington C1 - C1 - 375	DOUBLE TAPP shifted in from the start and checked GLENADDIS BOY who clipped the heels of FLOATING AWAY almost fell losing several llengths and all chance and he tailed the field throughout. GLENADDIS BOY was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days EMMA MARIE shifted in on the first corner and checked PICK A PEPPER who went back and out forcing FLOATING AWAY and DOUBLE TAPP wide going into the bend.
Race 3	Woodville Dash C1 - C1 - 375	ENAZUMA and NUTS FOR SURE collided at the start and lost ground. ENAZUMA then went around the field to lead on the bend but then eased and went back to fourth. He then chased hard again and won the race. ENAZUMA was examined by the Vet and found to have metacarpal and sartorius muscle injuries with a 10 day stand down recommended but was stood down for 28 days for failing to pursue the lure throughout and is required to complete a satisfactory trial. KRUSSIAN shifted in and DOWNEY shifted out slightly on the first corner and JUST TOM and OH EMM EYE who were in between were checked and lost ground. KRUSSIAN also lost ground in the incident and finished in last place.
Race 4	Peter Sinclair Dash C1/2 - C1/2 - 375	CHARLI CLANG shifted in going to the first corner and checked CULLENS IMPACT, LISSADELL TOBY, THRILLING JOSH and WHERES WALLY who all lost ground. LISSADELL TOBY galloped on the heels of the favourite CULLENS IMPACT on the bend and both dogs lost ground and the chance of a first four pllacing.
Race 5	Shannon Stakes C1 - C1 - 457	PEKING TOM, RADAR SHIRAZ and CONOR MACHALL were all slow to begin losing four lengths. PEKING TOM then received an interrupted run on the bend but recovered to finish in 2nd place. RADAR SHIRAZ raced wide covering extra ground on the bend but also recovered to finish in 3rd place. YIFRASHEWA shifted in soon after the start and checked HOWLIN WIND and DARLEK KHAN who both lost ground. HOWLIN WIND was also checked on the bend losing further ground and he finished in 2nd last place, just ahead of DARLEK KHAN .
Race 6	Sparky's Bar and Restaurant C3 - C3 - 375	GROOVY BANDIT and DOING THE TIME were slow to begin losing three lengths. OUR PLAYBOY was handy in 2nd place on the first corner but was checked losing several llengths but did make up ground for 4th placing. TURF MOOR checked off the heels of MOLLY DARLING on the first corner and shifted out forcing GROOVY BANDIT and DOING THE TIME wide going into the bend and ther stayed back to finish in the rear group.
Race 7	Marton Dash C4 - C4 - 375	IGNITE THE LIGHT was slow to begin losing three lengths. OPAWA BLACK checked over the heels of ART DECO approaching the home straight and lost ground and he drifted from there to finish in last place.
Race 8	Fielding Dash C5 - C5 - 375	LITTLE BLACKSPOT was slow to begin losing two lengths. MISSY OCTANE and JUST DEFY THAT both ran wide into the home straight covering extra ground. BOTANY ANGELA led from the start but then began to drift and she finished several lengths last and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days.
Race 9	Foxton Stakes C5 - C5 - 457	MR METICULOUS shifted out going into the bend and CAWBOURNE DUDE racing on the outside eased losing four lengths and he finished in last place. After viewing DVD films, the co Trainer P.Freeman elected to admit the dog had breached the rules and CAWBOURNE DUDE was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b. Mr Freeman advised the Stewards that the dog is now to be retired. REGAL DANCER shifted in from the start and checked MR METICULOUS and THRILLING RUST who both lost ground.
Race 10	www.racingdogs.co.nz C5 - C5 - 375	All clear.
Race 11	Hokowhitu Stakes C1/2 - C1/2 - 457	PARRA SPARRA shifted in at the start and checked COOKED THE BOOK and GROOVY SHANE who both lost three lengths. COOKED THE BOOK made up ground well during the running and finished in 4th place while GROOVY SHANE checked off the heels of PARRA SPARRA on the first corner losing further ground and finished in last place.
Race 12	Pahiatua Stakes C3/4 - C3/4 - 457	BUDDY BROKE, JAG YOU ARE and BANDANNA PETE were slow to begin losing three lengths. BANDANNA PETE shifted in on the first corner and checked JAG YOU ARE who lost ground. BANDANNA PETE recovered the best of the slow beginners and he made up ground well to finish in 2nd place with BUDDY BROKE and JAG YOU ARE back in the rear group.
