Track: Good The track grooming machine has been leaving grooves in the track and the Track Staff will work on ways to alleviate this problem.. The track has been very well presented and other than this slight problem, the Stewards have no issues with its presentation.

Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: ENAZUMA which had been stood down on 28.09.11 was rexamined under the provisions of Rules 82.5 and 82.6 and was cleared of injury and or illness and the stand down has been rescinded.

Race 1	Allied Work Force 0800 Labour C1/2 - C1/2 - 305	IN OR OUT was handy in 4th position on the first corner but then checked off the heels of MISS COOKA and went back onto JUST TOM and they went back to the rear and stayed back to finish in the last two places.
Race 2	Harrison Hire Master C2/3 - C2/3 - 520	The two favourites SHODSIE and BIG EFFORT were a little slow to begin and were at the rear on the first corner where BIG EFFORT galloped on the back of COOL ROYALE and lost several lengths and all chance and he finished in last place. COOL ROYAL also lost ground in the incident and finished in the rear group. SHODSIE recovered from the slow beginning and made up ground to win the race. COOL ROYALE was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with a hock injury.
Race 3	Guthrie Bowron C3 - C3 - 305	DOING THE TIME shifted in going into the bend and checked MIRAGE ROYALE who went back to last and she then raced wide covering extra ground on the bend and into the straight and finished in last place.
Race 4	Keenan Concrete C4 - C4 - 520	The favourite BUDDY BROKE was slow to begin and was then making up ground when checked back to the rear on the first bend when SIXTY TWENTY shifted out. BUDDY BROKE was again hindered on the final bend when clearing the heels of OLYMPIC ACE and he then finished well for 2nd placing.
Race 5	Palamountains Nutrition C3 - C3 - 305	SEDGEBROOK LEE jumped in the air as the boxes opened and he lost three lengths. GINA MAC was checked and fell on the first corner and she was examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with a spike wound.
Race 6	NZRS Graduation C0-2 Heat 1 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 1	LOUIE MACHALL shifted out from the start and dictated CULLENS IMPACT and SHEZA RATBAG out into the line of MISS FOLEY who was checked and lost ground. MISS FOLEY then ran wide covering extra ground on the first bend and she stayed back to finish at the rear. KNOW REVENGE and SHEZA RATBAG were checked losing several lengths entering the back straight when CULLENS IMPACT shifted in and they never recovered and finished well back.
Race 7	NZRS Graduation C0-2 Ht2 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 2	MICK MANIA was a little slow to begin and he then collided with KNOW PERIL on the first bend and both lost ground but they recovered to finish in 1st and 2nd places. ELLAS ANGEL and EMMA MARIE bumped together going into the final bend and they lost two lengths. ELLAS ANGEL was observed to turn its head and move in on SMASH BANG WIN in the home straight and HOMEBUSH DIP who was further in was also checked losing ground and made contact with the rail. HOMEBUSH DIP was examined by the Vet as a precaution and stood down for 7 days with grazing and bruising to a stifle. ELLAS ANGEL was charged under Rule 80.1 a with marring and after viewing D.V.D coverage of the incident, Trainers representative G.Clarke elected to admit the charge and ELLAS ANGEL was stood down for three months as it was a second offence.
Race 8	Mickey's Super Liquor C5 - C5 - 305	LIL LARRIKIN and FREDAS ANGEL bumped together at the start and LIL LARRIKIN lost ground and settled at the rear. ASHBY ELLY, FREDAS ANGEL and FIRE HAWK jostled together for several strides in the race to the first turn and FIRE HAWK and FREDAS ANGEL both lost ground. They bumped together on two further ocassions on the bend and they finished in the rear group.
Race 9	NZRS Graduation C0-2 Ht3 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 3	RHYME IN MELODY led until going into the final bend where she was observed to lose ground and was headed by the eventual winner OKAYS DERMATOFF. RHYME IN MELODY THEN ran on to finish in 2nd place. She was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury and co Trainer A.Turnwald was shown D.V.D film of the race and advised that the dogs future races will be monitored closely. Ms Turnwald was of the view that MELODYS MUSE may have been inconvenienced by the track which in her opinion was a little uneven on that bend and on inspection it did appear there was some merit in that comment. The Track Staff will make some adjustment to the grooming equipment in an endeavour to improve the racing surface.
Race 10	NZRS Graduation C0-2 Ht4 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 4	CHELSEAS BEAUTY checked off the heels of THRILLING TUNE on the first corner and shifted out causing checks to INIGO JONES and MELODYS MUSE and all three ran wide covering extra ground on the first bend and they stayed back to finish in the rear group.
Race 11	Broad Roofing Services C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	BOMBER MAN and ANOTHER DRIZZLE were slow to begin and settled at the rear.. FLYING FLYNN was checked and lost ground soon after the start but made up some ground to finish in 4th place.
Race 12	Wanganui Security C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	SEDGEBROOK ELITE was very slow to begin losing four lengths but made up ground well to finish in 4th place. BOTANY BARB shifted out soon after the start and checked ART DECO and SOUTHERN EIGHTY who lost ground. ART DECO shifted in onto RONS SECRET and OPAWA MEGASTAR going to the first corner and OPAWA MEGASTAR suffered the most and went back to near the rear and finished in 2nd last place. SOUTHERN EIGHTY was handy in 3rd place approaching the home turn but suffered an injury and dropped out to finish in last place. SOUTHERN EIGHTY was examined by the Vet and euthanased due to a fractured hock.
