---|---|---|
Race 1 | Super Pets Dash - C1 - 295 | In a straggly start CHASIN CROWS, CULVIE CORGI, CURRAHEE and KNOW TURBO were all tardy to begin. KNOW TURBO stayed wide on the track until the bend losing ground in the process. On the home turn CHASIN CROWS was inclined to run inwards tightening APATCHIE SCOTT and HOMEBUSH ZITA for a few strides. Co trainer Andy McCook when asked about the improved performance of the winner ANOTHER KERRY explained that the dog had been freshened in the hope that she would jump better today and this proved the winning of the race. |
Race 2 | Challenge Opawa All Up Sprint - C0 - 295 | PIED WARRIOR and LADY IN SHADES were the last to jump. CAWBOURNE FLICK ran inwards in the early stages checking BELLA SIENNA and ANOTHER REBEL who lost ground. Soon after this ANOTHER REBEL wanted to get to the outside and was turned sideways as he contacted CAWBOURNE ELLEN and HOMEBUSH ANABEL. ANOTHER REBEL ran inwards in the home straight when finishing well. It was noticed that the muzzle on ANOTHER REBEL was removed as the dogs were on the lure. Handler Jonathan McInerney explained to Stewards that the muzzle had become awkwardly placed on the dog after the race and he had ensured that other dogs were off the lure before he let his dog back on it. His explanation was accepted by Stewards. |
Race 3 | Happy Birthday Garry Cleeve Sprint - C1 - 295 | MRS. PATCH ran inwards soon after the start tightening OKUKU OLLIE. BELFAST MUNCHA, OKUKU OLLIE and HOMEBUSH SARINA all came together into the first bend. On the home bend the favourite OKUKU OLLIE checked off the back of the pacemaker and lost momentum finishing in fourth place. Marcie Flipp, trainer of the winner MRS. PATCH, told Stewards that she was surprised with the win although the dog does run well fresh and today was able to find the space that she enjoys. |
Race 4 | Churchills Hotel Stakes - C0 - 520 | HOMEBUSH SIENNA was last to jump. Into the first bend the favourite CHIPEWYAN checked outwards off the pacemaking HOMEBUSH IRIS with OKUKU CRACKER, FINAL GESTURE and HOOTA SAID all being forced wide and losing ground. |
Race 5 | Dave Kingston @ Harcourts Ph 0273351010 Dash - C0 - 295 | NEW ORDER and EXCUSE PLEASE were the last to emerge from the boxes. CAWBOURNE COL ran outwards soon after the jump checking BELFAST SUZY and CAWBOURNE AVA with TIE MY TIE and EXCUSE PLEASE also being inconvenienced for a few strides and settling towards the rear. CAWBOURNE AVA received a bad check into the bend when racing between runners dropping to the rear with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. MAN OH MAN received an injury to his tail with no stand down being imposed. |
Race 6 | Johnny Midnight @ Stud Dash - C1 - 295 | HOMEBUSH ROSEBUD came up with the lids and was very slow with HOMEBUSH BUFFY and ANOTHER HIT also missing the jump. HOMEBUSH NESTOR ran inwards soon after the jump pushing ANOTHER HIT down on to HOMEBUSH BUFFY who both lost ground. UNCLE EARL ran outwards in the early stages pushing OHOKA SUMMER and LYNDOUR GEM wider. |
Race 7 | Happy Birthday Marcie Flipp Sprint - C1 - 295 | ANOTHER MOVE was slow to jump. THATS COOL ran outwards soon after the jump with HOMEBUSH SARGE, CAWBOURNE TOBES, UNO IMOGENE and ANYTIME WILL DO all being tightened to some extent. BILLY DABYNE was tightened into the bend and ran outwards for a stride with ANOTHER MOVE and UNO IMOGENE both being forced wide around that bend. |
Race 8 | Amber Cleaning Services Stakes - C1 - 520 | KNOW FUTURE was slow from the outside. Into the first bend BOTANY GARETH, LOVELY HAND and KNOW FUTURE came together wide on the track and lost ground. Following the race the winner WALK DA TORQUE was limping with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. |
Race 9 | Flair Sprint - C2 - 295 | LIAM TITLE was slow to leave the traps. CAWBOURNE HARVEY angled inwards soon after the jump and checked ELITE PALACE for a stride. Soon after this HOMEBUSH LENNY ran outwards pushing ELITE PALACE back outwards on to CAWBOURNE HARVEY who lost ground. On the home turn DAUNTING ducked inwards and checked FIERY FLOWER who lost some momentum. Soon after FIERY FLOWER ran outwards pushing DAUNTING and LIAM TITLE over extra ground. |
Race 10 | Hampden Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520 | OHOKA ZOE, WATERVIEW LASS and RULEBROOK RAY all received some tightening as SIDESHOW BOB crossed in front of them into the first bend. JIMMY CEE was very hard to box and following discussions with Trainer Marcie Flipp it was agreed that this dog be boxed first in its immediate starts. Ms Flipp was also questioned in regards to the disappointing performance of JIMMY CEE who was handy until the home turn when he weakened badly. She told Stewards that the time of 30.02 was exceptionally fast for a dog of its class and that JIMMY CEE would have another middle distance run next Tuesday before reassessing its middle distance racing future. Her comments were noted. |
Race 11 | www.greyhoundtips.co.nz Dash - C1 - 295 | HOMEBUSH DAPHNE weighed in 3.3 kgs above her last race weight in February. Trainer Ashley Bradshaw informed Stewards that this weight gain was planned. TEPIRITA ACE was last to jump. Handler Jonathon McInerney was questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner ANOTHER BLEND. He could offer no explanation other than the fact that that todays field was the easiest she has met for a while and she was able to jump to the lead. |
Race 12 | Speight's Dash - C2 - 295 | WHAT A MATE was last to jump. ANOTHER BREEZE crossed to the rail in the early stages and tightened VISUAL ILLUSION, OHOKA DUKE and the favourite FLAT BATTERY on his inside. FLAT BATTERY was also jammed up on the inside into the bend dropping to the rear. |
