Track: Good Very heavy rain fell during the early part of the progamme but the track held up remarkably well with very good times recorded throughout the night.

Race 1	Allied Work Force 0800 Labour C1 - C1 - 305	KATIE HAKA was checked soon after the start and settled at the rear and she stayed well back. SLATERS MATE shifted in on the first corner and checked PICK A PEPPER who lost four lengths and all chance. The favourite BRANCH LANE was a little slow to begin but made up ground well to be in a prominent position on the home turn but was then bumped when HOMEBUSH JEM shifted out and BRANCH LANE lost a little momentum and finished in 3rd place.
Race 2	Harrison Hire Master C1 - C1 - 520	The favourite BIGTIME UNO was checked on the first corner and went back onto SMASH BANG WIN who shifted out and caused a check to HOMEBUSH MELL who was forced wide on the bend. BIGTIME UNO then checked off the heels of ANOTHER STAR entering the back straight and again soon after turning for home and she finished in last place.
Race 3	Guthrie Bowron C2 - C2 - 305	IMA ROYALE was checked soon after the start and settled at the rear. HOMEBUSH ALEX checked over the heels of QUEEN MOTHER on the first corner and lost ground and he then bumped with BRUTUS FINALE on two occasions on the bend and they finished in the last two places.
Race 4	Morrie Gibbons Signs C2 - C2 - 305	HOMEBUSH BAZIL shifted in on the first corner and checked HEALING CRYSTAL and BOTANY STORY who both lost ground and they stayed back to finish at the rear. MISS COOKA was nominated for swabbing and slipped its lead and escaped from the handler after leaving the rostrum but was quickly recaptured.
Race 5	Mickey's Super Liquor C2/3 - C2/3 - 520	MR. MUTOLA shifted out with just over a circuit to run and checked PRETTY SECRET who lost ground and then shifted in and made contact with the rail. PRETTY SECRET was checked again entering the back straight and she dropped out to finish several lengths last and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury apart from a minor spike wound.
Race 6	Palamountains Nutrition C3 - C3 - 305	CAWBOURNE DRAG shifted away from the rail on the first corner and caused checks to itself and also KILMAINHAM CHILL and MAJOR HIT and all three lost ground. LE FLAMBEUR and SOUTHERN EIGHTY bumped together for several strides approaching the straight entrance . DONNA BAXTER was knocked over at the lure and took some time to regain its feet and she was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. CAWBOURNE DRAG suffered a split webbing and was stood down for 14 days.
Race 7	Gary Ross Decorator C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	LITTLE BLACKSPOT, HARMONY BAXTER, UPAHUT STAR and PALOMINE were all checked on the first corner losing four lengths and they stayed back to finish in the last four places. THRILLING ALI suffered from grazing to the left fore leg and wrist pain to the right fore leg and was stood down for 10 days.
Race 8	Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C4 - C4 - 520	GUY BAXTER shifted in from the start and made contact with LAGOON BEACH BOY and GUY BAXTER lost ground and settled at the rear. GUY BAXTER then collided with SLICE OF MAGIC on the first corner and SLICE OF MAGIC lost two lengths.
Race 9	Media Works C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	OPAWA MEGASTAR shifted in from the start and collided with BOTANY BARB and they lost ground and settled at the rear and stayed well back throughout the race. LIL LARRIKIN and MISS GIGI bumped together approaching the straight entrance and both lost ground.
Race 10	Keenan Concrete Wanganui C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	All clear.
Race 11	Broad Roofing Services C5 Series Ht1 - C5q - 305 Heat 1	CONFISCATED was the slowest to begin but then secured a clear rails run to finish in 3rd place. IMA SPICE, ART DECO, GENTLE ATTACK and AERIAL BAXTER all came together and jostled for a few strides soon after the start and settled back in the field. In the run to the first corner ART DECO and GENTLE ATTCK collided and ART DECO went back to last and finished the race in that position. IMA SPICE and BOUND BY PRIDE also bumped together running to the first corner and they lost a little ground.
Race 12	Wanganui Security C5 Series Ht2 - C5q - 305 Heat 2	SALLY SAY SO and CAPTAIN CARLOS collided running to the first corner and SALLY SAY SO checked losing several lengths and she stayed back to finish in last place.
