Cambridge and Manukau Update

Hi everyone,

Following a meeting this morning, GRNZ can now confirm:

- Thursday's race meeting at Cambridge this week is abandoned. Half of all prizemoney will be paid out to trainers by way of compensation for the abandonment.

- All scheduled race meetings at Cambridge from next week will be transferred to Manukau for the foreseeable future.

- All trialling and racing at Cambridge is cancelled for the foreseeable future while we urgently investigate alternative viable lure options. We will not recommence racing or trialling there until we have 100 percent confidence that the lure system is consistently reliable. GRNZ will be in a position within the next few days as to prospective timing on this project, with options being reviewed as an urgent priority.

- Trials on Wednesday at Manukau will now take place on Friday at Manukau instead. This is because the grader which is required is now only able to arrive at the track tomorrow morning. We will endeavour to have a stipendiary steward and a vet present at the track on Friday so that satisfactory weight trials can officially be conducted on the day, and we will keep you updated as to whether this is possible.

- Racing at Manukau on Sunday will go ahead as planned.

- Dogs who were in abandoned races unfortunately do not have these races count in terms of the 28 day weight trial rule. If a recent race abandonment has put you over the 28 day threshold, you will still need to do a weight trial. If your dogs have been affected by the recent race abandonments in this area, please contact GRNZ.

Again, we apologise for what has happened the past two race meetings. While extensive successful testing was carried out prior to yesterday's meeting, lure issues unfortunately still arose yesterday. We are doing everything we can to ensure we can safely get Cambridge up and running again as quickly as possible.

We will keep you updated with more information as it comes to hand.

Thanks,

GRNZ
