Manukau Will be Racing this Week despite Fire

The fiery climax to Sunday's Manukau Greyhound meeting saw all people and dogs safely depart the track unharmed.

After surveying the damage on Monday, the club is pleased to announce that there has not been any critical damage.

"Obviously we have lost the shed and some equipment including the pump station for the water bore, but our maintenance contractor has been able to put in place an alternative method of filling the water truck, so we have everything that we need to run a race day safely," said Club Manager Robert Death.

"So the trials and race meeting scheduled for this week will go ahead" he added.

Whilst the final two races had to be abandoned on Sunday, the 50% of stakes compensation will be paid to LPs along with the balance of the stakes today.

Thanks,
The GRNZ Team
