Explosive Sprinting Assured in Galaxy Semis

It’s getting down to the business end for the short course speed merchants with 32 of them advancing into Wednesday’s The Fitz Sports Bar Galaxy Sprint four semi-finals. The reward for the first two finishers in each 295m semi is a place in the 16 November, $30,000 final at Group 1 level.

1 Valyrian Steel $101 & $22: He finished solidly after making a tardy start in his heat. He must hop away quicker here and securing his first career trap one may assist him to do that.
2 Custom Paint $5 & $1.90: He stalked the pacemaker into the straight and kicked on strongly to nail his 17.21s heat win. He has drawn to serve up a repeat dose here.
3 Storming Norm $101 & $22: He pushed up around the outer from trap eight and he gamely stuck to his task when claiming his heat second. He must jump onto the pace here.
4 Amino Trouble $61 & $15: He was involved in the vain chase after the tear away pace making winner. He pressed on stoutly to nail his heat third.
5 Opawa Waihemo $101 & $22: He hopped away okay from this lousy draw in his heat to put himself into early contention. From there he pressed on soundly for his heat second.
6 Culvie Lass $126 & $26: She settled just in behind the pace setters from trap one and she remained there throughout. Drawing out here has made it tougher for her.
7 Oppie Bale $81 & $18: She was contained in the midfield pack throughout in the quickest run heat from the five trap. Has no option but to jump straight onto the early pace.
8 Believe $51 & $12: He seized the early race from the ace trap and he was never headed afterwards when delivering his bold 17.18s heat win. Quick jump here can see him featuring.

1 Swimming Goat $4 & $1.60: Last year’s Galaxy winner found himself jammed up between runners during the early rush in his heat and on the turn. He finished solidly to firmly remain in this series. He commands obvious respect here.
2 Miss Fanning $41 & $10: She finished third in last year’s Galaxy final. She tracked the slippery heat winning pacemaker early, then she whacked away solidly after that when she was cut out of third late.
3 Botany Cold $101 & $22: He pinged into the early race lead and he was only claimed over the concluding stages when he was cut back by a neck. That was a brave effort by this C3 graded chaser.
4 Watta Gun $101 & $22: He was forced to overcome a degree of early jostling in his heat. From there he boldly stuck to his task when finishing just in behind the heat place getters.
5 Puma Pants $101 & $22: This bloke just keeps on giving it everything he owns. His bold heat third confirmed that factor in what was his 100th 295m sprint around this circuit.
6 Opawa Sheldon $26 & $7: He is renowned for his strong finish over this dash. Expect him to deliver that, although he has to put himself into a handier early field position from out here.
7 Saraya Jayde $101 & $22: She cleverly extracted herself from traffic on the turn to extend stylishly when nailing her 17.33s heat win. She has no option but to place herself up onto the early pace here.
8 Cawbourne Britty $126 & $26: He has been settling in the midfield pack in his latest sprints. Drawing out here has made his task a tad harder when looking at the pace owned by those drawn closer to the rail.

1 Highland Laddie $26 & $6: That was an eye catching, stylish track debut heat sprint his northern sprinter produced in the fastest of the heats. He owns early pace and he’s a likely improver.
2 Talk Talk $31 & $8: He certainly has picked the right time to find his best career form. He can place himself handy to the early pace from where he can use his known strength to feature at the business end.
3 Seriously Grand $14 & $4: This fella has developed into an ultra consistent 295m sprinter around here. If he wins the jump from here, then he’s capable of leading his rivals throughout.
4 Peaky Boy $51 & $12: That was a real brave effort he produced to make it this far after he was hindered during the early rush for positions. His race start will be absolutely crucial for him here.
5 Jinja Rules $201 & $41: An awkward start from this trap saw him being contained in the midfield pack throughout in his heat. That’s the worry for him again from this trap.
6 Princely Gold $126 & $26: He pushed forward along the rail after jumping from trap one in his heat. He must employ those same on the pace racing tactics from trap rise here.
7 Birdie Tee $5 & $1.90: She pushed forward from this trap to lead into the first turn from where she dictated the pace to her rivals, resulting in her bold 17.16s heat win.
8 Flower Bomb $41 & $10: That was a tidy 17.23s on the pace heat win she produced from the one trap when she resumed from a spell. She would have derived benefit from that outing.

1 Wheelchair Norm $2.85 & $1.45: He returned to this venue to bully his heat rivals into submission when delivering his slippery 16.94s heat win. Expect him to serve up a repeat dose here.
2 Filberty Jiberty $81 & $18: He was the runner up in last year’s Galaxy final and he’s provided with an opportunity to return after he was sighted getting out of traffic to run on stoutly for his heat third.
3 Another Cruise $101 & $22: He exploded into the early race lead from trap eight in his heat from where he battled during the run home when finishing fifth. His known sharp early pace is an asset at this level.
4 Hilton Open $61 & $12: He settled just behind the early pace setters and he remained there throughout for his heat fourth which was a bold effort considering he’s C3 graded.
5 Express Gun $51 & $12: That was a sound effort she produced in her heat after she was placed in restricted racing room when rounding the turn. She must begin smartly from this poor draw.
6 Detective Dash $101 & $22: Drawing out wider is likely to suit him better after he was sighted pushing away from the rail on the turn in his heat. He has come a long way in a short time to make it through this far.
7 Ohoka Clare $51 & $12: She picked the jump perfectly from this trap which led to her bold pace making 17.27s heat win. She must adopt those same tactics from trap rise here.
8 Sarcasm $51 & $12: His best asset is his strength over the concluding stages. We saw him extending strongly when he claimed his heat second. Drawing out here presents him with swooping claims here.
