This meeting was run under Level 2 Government restrictions and Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid-19 protocols.

Warnings .

1) G Hardaker was issued with a warning after inadvertently running onto the track without a mask on to retrieve a greyhound that had pulled up just past the winning post in race 3.

2) S Codlin ( THRILLING GEM ) failing to arrange a catcher race 11

Satisfactory trials.

SALOSO race 3 ( P Ferguson ) to be completed rule 55.5.

Injury trials required.

1) OPAWA COOPER race 4 ( W & T Steele ).

General.

HOMEBUSH BRAVE race 13 was a late scratching by the Stewards after handler Mr F McPhee refused to wear a mask for this race .

Inquiries.

1) an inquiry was opened and adjourned into the circumstances surrounding handler Mr F McPhee regarding an exemption from wearing a mask.

Race 1	Follow Waikato Greyhounds on Facebook Sprint - C1 - 375	HARDCORE BRUTE (1) - away well settled handy .Crowded and came back off heels and severely checked and fell on the home turn. Recovered to his paws to finish onto the lure and was referred to the vet. Was found to have a split to the right hind webbing. A 10 day stand down was recommended. BIG TIME TASTY (2) - racing handy when checked and unbalanced nearing the home turn. Checked again turning in losing momentum. Referred to the vet and has pain on palpation of left triceps muscle. A 10 day stand down was recommended. HOMEBUSH LUTHER (3) - contact with OPAWA BARRY racing from the start. Hampered for a couple of strides when tightened into the home straight. OPAWA BARRY (4) - contact and unbalanced as he came off the mats. Recovered well to finish on in the run to the line. BIG TIME TATUM (7) - crowded and lost ground into the bend. RAIN AND SHINE (8) - slow away. Improved into the body of the field across the top bend checked and tightened between runners being dragged down and fell on the home turn. Recovered to his paws to finish onto the lure and was referred to the vet and was found to have pain on palpation of left triceps. A 10 day stand down was recommended.
Race 2	Mayhounds Greyhound Rehoming Group Sprint - C2 - 375	THRILLING RAVEN (2) - fav- checked racing from the start as DUBSTEP angled across her line. DUBSTEP (3) - angled inwards checking THRILLING RAVEN coming off the mats. Forced to check off heels across the top bend losing his position and ground back to the rear. BIG TIME GINA (5) - handy into the bend when checked and lost momentum. Soon after she was crowded between runners and lost ground coming back off heels. MR MARCEL (6) - angled across the line of BIG TIME GINA checking this runner entering the bend. ALLEGRO LEXXI (7) - checked soon after entering the bend as OVERTAKING attempted to angle inwards. OVERTAKING (8) - caused himself to to be checked soon after entering the bend when coming together with ALLEGRO LEXXI , then checked back off heels losing ground.
Race 3	Farmlands CopRice Stakes - C1 - 457	ABOUT TO DO (1) - dwelt and was last away by several lengths. PICCOLO (3) - racing handy into the bend when severely crowded and checked losing momentum back to the rear. BLACK TEA (4) - racing handy when severely crowded and checked into the bend losing momentum and ground. MONEY TRAIL (6) - angled onto the shoulder of BLACK TEA causing severe tightening to runners to his inner entering the bend and was forced to checked back off the heels of OPAWA NIGEL losing ground. OPAWA NIGEL (7) - angled into the bend and was tightened inwards as SALOSO angled in across his line. SALOSO (8) - fav- only fairly away early stages. Angled and improved into a handy position in the run to the home turn . Nearing the line he eased and propped losing his position then pulled up shortly after the line. Referred to the vet and re kenneled for a possible conduct charge. On a second veterinary examination he was found to have pain on flexion of left hind medial toe and a skin laceration on the inside of toe. A failing to pursue charge was not taken further with a 21 day stand down recommended with a satisfactory trial to be completed.
Race 4	Virkon*S Disinfectant Sprint - C4 - 375	THRILLING VIOLET (1) - awkwardly away for a few strides. OPAWA COOPER (3) - racing in the midfield entering the bend when he shortened stride going back through the field finishing a margin in the rear at the line and was referred to the vet and was found to have a fracture to the right hind hock .Vet recommended xrays and dog to complete an injury trial. PINA COLADA (4) - tightened and checked back soon after the start. Forced to check outwards off heels entering the bend racing wide for some strides.
Race 5	Affordable Pet Accessories Stakes - C3 - 457	LUCCA (2) - racing handy when severely tightened into the bend losing ground JAM PACKED (3) - in the run towards the bend she was severely tightened and crowded between runners losing momentum being checked back towards the rear. THRILLING ESTHER (4) - in the run towards the bend she was tightened and crowded losing momentum and ground as she came back off heels. GREAT WORK (5) - angled across in the run towards the bend causing tightening and checks to to runners to his inner. He severely tightened LUCCA entering the bend and soon after caught heels and fell. He quickly recovered to his paws to finish onto the lure and was referred to the vet . He was found to have mild ataxia left hind. A 10 day stand down was recommended. THRILLING WATSON (7) - slipped on jumping away. He then angled across to the rail and was severely checked going down on his haunches and falling. He recovered to his paws to finish onto the lure and was referred to the vet. He was found to have bruising from contacting the rail. A 10 day stand down was recommended.
Race 6	CopRice Working Dog Chicken Sprint - C1 - 375	HARDCORE LISA (2) - went up in the boxes as the lids lifted and was slow away. Tightened and checked into the bend losing ground. RAMBLIN' EDGE (3) - racing handy in the run towards the bend when forced to abruptly check as VEGAS CHOPS losing momentum back towards the rear and was unable to get back into contention. VEGAS CHOPS (5) - went up in the boxes as the lids lifted and was slow away. In the run to the the bend she angled in sharply across the line of RAMBLIN' EDGE. Soon after she was checked and lost ground as BIG TIME BERT angled in across her line.
Race 7	Garrards Horse & Hound Sprint - C2 - 375	MADE A WISH (1) - challenging into the home straight when hampered for some strides as ROCK IT RED lay in. When clear and balanced up finished best to the line. CARLOS (3) - racing from the start he was pushed inwards becoming awkwardly placed for a couple of strides. Checked and lost momentum in the run across the top bend when coming back off the heels of MARGAUX MEANDERING (4) - racing from the start he was severely crowded and forced back from between runners. HARDCORE BART (5) - racing from the start he was severely crowded and forced back angling out across heels. BORN KATIE (6) - racing from the starts he was tightened inwards for a couple of strides. Hampered entering the bend as MARGAUX angled across for several strides. ROCK IT RED (7) - angled inwards from the jump crowding and tightening runners to her inner. Looking to challenge on the home turn MARGAUX (8) - angled into the bend tightening BORN KATIE inwards onto CARLOS for several strides. Angled in across the line of CARLOS in the run across the top bend.
Race 8	Pinny Mack At Stud Distance - C1/2d - 650	LITTLE TEEGS (1) - tightened into the far bend as BRICKMAN angled into the bend. ADOBE NINJA (4) - landed awkwardly for a stride or so jumping away . Settled back in the running and was unable to improve to the line. BRICKMAN (8) - fav- obligated to race widest into and around the first bend into the back straight. Improved and angled inwards into the far bend and was forced to abruptly check off heels losing momentum and ground finishing in the rear at the line and was referred to the vet. Due to a communication error the vetting was not carried out. Stewards will follow up with trainer S Lozelle in the coming days.
Race 9	The Clubhouse Cambridge Sprint - C2/3 - 375	DARK HAZARD (1) - hampered for some strides in the run to the bend as BIG TIME KOBE lay in. BIG TIME KOBE (2) - lay inwards onto DARK HAZARD for some strides in the run to the bend losing momentum and ground entering the bend. DUBLIN EXPRESS (4) - hampered when racing between runners for some strides around the bend angling out across heels pushing KEA VIKING wide into the home straight. CHROME (6) - bumped jumping away and was slow into stride. hampered TRIGGERED when angling across his line into the home straight. TRIGGERED (7) - bumped into CHROME jumping away and was slow into stride. Hampered turning in when checking off heels. KEA VIKING (8) - obligated to race widest in attempting to make ground around runners . Chemed and pushed wider into the home straight.
Race 10	Farmlands Virkon Stakes - C1/2 - 457	THRILLING STELLA (5) - angled outwards coming off the mats. GET ME HOME (6) - tightened and checked coming off the mats losing his initial momentum for a stride or so. Angled into the bend losing some ground. Checked out across heels in the run towards the home turn. BARELLA (7) - angled inwards coming off the mats then bumped with THRILLING STELLA and lost momentum. He angled into the bend and was crowded onto the hind of MR BLACKJACK as GO HOME DUKE angled across his line with him going back catching heels and was unbalanced losing ground. GO HOME DUKE (8) - angled into the bend across the line of BARELLA with him being momentarily hampered as he was clipped from behind.
Race 11	Vetora Cambridge Sprint - C4/5 - 375	ALLEGRO RYLEE (2) - tightened and checked coming off the mats becoming awkwardly placed for a few strides losing initial momentum. THRILLING GEM (3) - angled across from the jump checking ALLEGRO RYLEE and MIDNIGHT FAITH. Contact and checked when pushed sideways into the bend losing some ground. MY MATE SPEIGHT (4) - checked racing off the mats as THRILLING TESSA angled across. Tightened and crowded into the bend as runners came across. Forced to check out across heels on the top bend racing wide into the home straight. THRILLING TESSA (5) - angled inwards from the jump into the shoulder of MY MATE SPEIGHT for a stride or so. OPAWA NIP (8) - angled into the field into the bend coming together with THRILLING GEM pushing this runner sideways for a couple of strides.
Race 12	Mike Stent Decorators Ltd Stakes - C4/5 - 457	PEDRO LEE (4) - fav- dwelt and was slow into stride. Improved up along the inner and was tightened into the bend losing several lengths and was unable to make ground thereafter.
Race 13	Nightrave Rehoming Agency For Greyhounds Sprint - C1 - 375	HOMEBUSH BRAVE was a late scratching at pre race presentation by the Stewards ( refer to judicial ). BIG TIME FENDI (3) - crowded and checked into the bend stumbling slightly for a stride losing some momentum. DOUBLE HEADER (7) - fav- angled into the bend tightening and checking BIG TIME FENDI to his inner. Settled in the midfield made ground in the latter stages to the line.
Race 14	CopRice Working Dog Beef Sprint - C1 - 375	RAMBLIN' HARDY (2) - hampered racing off the mats when changing ground. ALLEGRO SKYE (4) - bumped with ALLEGRO ELLA coming off the mats. Jostled with ALLEGRO ELLA in the run to the bend , bumped with ALLEGRO SKYE in the run across the top bend. ALLEGRO ELLA (5) - bumped with ALLEGRO SKYE racing off the mats then checked and pushed sideways as RUBY EXPRESS angled in across onto her. She jostled with ALLEGRO SKYE into the bend . Checked and lost ground when racing handy across the top bend after coming together with ALLEGRO SKYE. MAYBE MEGAN (7) - checked out across the face of HOMEBUSH COOL in the run towards the home turn. HOMEBUSH COOL (8) - checked in the run towards the home turn as MAYBE MEGAN checked out across his line.
