Special Report.

This meeting was run under Level 3 Government restrictions and Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid-19 protocols.

General:

1) - T Green was authorised to drive the lure for the entirety of the meeting and drove races 2-9.

2) - Only side on footage was available for the purposes of reporting.

3) - Race 3 - A false start declared when the boxes failed to open. All runners underwent veterinary examinations and were cleared to start. The boxes were tested prior to restarting this event.

Injury trial:

1) - FALL GRACEFULLY (M Prangley) - To complete a solo trial prior to resuming

DONNING (6) - slow away losing several lengths. BLITZING STAR (7) - tightened and hampered start losing ground then jostled for a distance. HURRICANE BOB (8) - angled in abruptly leaving the boxes making solid contact.
Race 2	Jo's Wholesale & Sports Bar Taipa Tavern Sprint - C4 - 318	ZIPPING AUBRY (1) - slow away. Inconvenienced first turn making contact losing ground. THRILLING HUDSON (2) - steadied when tightened first turn losing ground. MARCUS (4) - contact several occasions back straight. Contact first turn becoming tightened. PORTLAND WONDER (5) - contact after the start and again back straight. Bumped first turn. OTAKI RIVER (7) - slow away then inconvenienced. Obliged to race wide. BIG TIME FELIX (8) - contact after the start. Inconvenienced first turn making contact losing ground.
Race 3	Pump & Engineering Services Ltd Stakes - C1 - 527	EYE SPY TY (1) - raced in restricted room final bend making contact. THEA WHO (2) - collided several occasions after the start and for a distance racing into the first turn losing ground. FIRST LIGHT (3) - tightened and hampered for a distance racing into the first turn losing ground. FRANK CASTLE (4) - collided several occasions after the start and for a distance racing into the first turn. Shifted out off heels first turn making contact. Contact entering the final straight and again soon after losing ground. SCIMITAR (5) - slow away losing several lengths. Checked entering the first turn contacting the running rail shifting out abruptly losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed skin abrasions inner left stifle with a 10 day stand down imposed. REACT RESPOND (6) - bumped after the start. Lay in making contact final bend then shifting out off heels. LET EM TALK (7) - bumped after the start losing ground. Hampered first turn and forced wider. Contact entering the final straight and again soon after when shifting out away from heels.
Race 4	Mt Wellington TAB Sprint - C5 - 318	ZIPPING SAINT (1) - tightened making contact for a distance back straight. ZIPPING HEWITT (2) - collided after the start then tightened making contact for a distance back straight losing ground. WHEELS ON FIRE (4) - collided after the start then tightened making contact for a distance back straight losing ground.
Race 5	Mayhounds Greyhound Rehoming Group Sprint - C1 - 318	BARNEY PARROT (1) - tightened making contact first turn. BUCKLAND BOY (2) - bumped after the start. GINNY GIN (3) - contact after the start. Tightened and hampered first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. BLACK BRIDGE (4) - bumped after the start. Steadied when tightened rounding the bend. ZOE STAR (5) - tightened and hampered for a distance after the start and throughout the back straight losing ground. Solid contact first turn losing ground. BIG TIME BOOTS (6) - tightened and hampered for a distance after the start and throughout the back straight losing ground. Tightened and hampered first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. Contact first turn becoming unbalanced shifting wider. TIDES RISING (7) - hampered start losing ground. Hampered first turn becoming unbalanced shifting wider losing ground. Hampered rounding the bend getting forced wider losing ground. BIG TIME AMERICA (8) - angled in start making contact then continued to attempt to shift in back straight jostling for a distance. Collided first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. Collided rounding the bend becoming unbalanced.
Race 6	MPS Fencing Stakes - C1/2 - 527	SERBIAN ACE (1) - tightened making contact first turn. BLACK MAVIS (2) - shifted up the track after the start before been forced inwards and checked losing ground. FALL GRACEFULLY (3) - contact after the start. Faltered first turn losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed torn right hip support with a 42 day stand down imposed. Will be required to complete a solo trial prior to resuming. OPAWA BIG (4) - hampered after the start losing ground then shifting in off heels. Tightened and checked first turn shifting out off heels losing ground. BIG TIME EDEN (5) - Shifted in off heels after the start coming together with BLACK MAVIS for a distance. Tightened making contact first turn losing ground. OPAWA DELIGHT (6) - tightened and checked after the start losing ground. Obliged to race wide first turn. OPAWA TRUMP (7) - bumped after the start. Angled in first turn making contact. EYE SPY LUNA (8) - slow away.
Race 7	Hewlett Electrical Sprint - C3 - 318	MIRKO (1) - tightened and hampered first turn getting on heels becoming unbalanced and falling. Regained footing to finish the event some distance from the field. Veterinary examination revealed pain in the right deltoid with a 10 day stand down imposed. HOUSE SURGEON (2) - angled in first turn tightening MIRKO then contacted from behind. YOU READY BOOTS (3) - slow away losing several lengths. GO AHEAD CALLER (4) - checked first turn shifting wider. OPAWA SLICK (6) - checked first turn losing momentum. ALLEGRO BERKLEY (8) - checked first turn shifting wider.
Race 8	Carol's TAB Taipa Tavern Stakes - C4/5 - 527	ZIPPING LOCKETT (6) - inconvenienced rounding the first turn shifting wider losing ground. Gave ground in the back straight. Veterinary examination revealed left fore sprained metacarpophalangeal joint with a 28 day stand down imposed.
Race 9	Sportsbowl Function Centre Sprint - C1/2 - 318	AMMONITE (1) - slow away. PORTLAND ART (4) - tightened after the start losing ground. Steadied when tightened first turn losing ground. BIG TIME JEWEL (5) - inconvenienced entering the final straight shifting in off heels. START BAILING (6) - raced wide into the final straight. HOW'S THE ENEMY (7) - slow away. WHO IS COOPER (8) - raced wide into the final straight.
