General:

1). THE AMAZING CHASE:

LIGHTNIN’ SLIM and SEDUCTIVE KIWI (C Weir) - Stewards opened an investigation on Thursday the 10th June 2021 in relation to the eligibility of these two greyhounds to compete in The Amazing Chase after information was obtained regarding the time in which Greyhound Racing New Zealand’s Racing Operations Team received both entries.
During the course of these enquiries, it was established both entries were accepted after the prescribed time set out in the Terms and Conditions of The Amazing Chase and as a consequence to this Stewards deemed both greyhounds were ineligible to compete. Acting under GRNZ Rule 11.2(l) Stewards ordered the scratching of LIGHTNIN’ SLIM and SEDUCTIVE KIWI from The Amazing Chase.

2). Prior to the running of Race 4 Stewards, acting under GRNZ Rule 11.3(i), stood down Starter D Laing and opened an investigation in relation to Mr Laing's wagering during the course of the meeting.

3). Several trainers were issued with compliance orders in regards to their transportation vehicles.

4). Stewards gave permission for OPAWA BIG(G Farrell) to scratch with exceptional circumstances.

Notice of Objections:

1). Race 5 - Mr G Farrell, acting for the connections of ZIPPING BARTY lodged a Notice of Objection following this event alleging BIG TIME KAYLEE was not entitled to be placed in the race on the grounds it was ineligible. After taking into account the submissions tendered by Mr Farrell along with the information provided to Stewards by Greyhound Racing New Zealand in regards to the entry of the BIG TIME KAYEE in this event Stewards deemed the greyhound was entitled to be placed in the race. Mr Farrell subsequently exercised his right under GRNZ Rule 65.3 and applied to seek a review with the JCA.

2). Race 9 - Mr P Green, acting for the connections of RIVALRIES, BERET GIRL and SPRING QUEEN lodged a Notice of Objection following this event alleging JILLIBY LITSA was not entitled to be placed in the race on the grounds it was ineligible. After taking into account the submissions tendered by Mr Green along with the information provided to Stewards by Greyhound Racing New Zealand in regards to the entry of the JILLIBY LITSA in this event Stewards deemed the greyhound was entitled to be placed in the race. Mr Green subsequently exercised his right under GRNZ Rule 65.3 and applied to seek a review with the JCA.

Informations lodged:

1). BIG TIME HARLEY (L Cole) - An information was issued with no plea entered in regards to this greyhound being presented to race down 1.8kgs from its last recorded weight with the matter being referred to the JCA.

2). FEDERAL MORGAN (L Cole) - An information was issued with no plea entered in regards to this greyhound being presented to race down 1.6kgs from its last recorded weight with the matter being referred to the JCA.

OPAWA JUNE (3) - checked early stages losing ground. BAD BRO BAD (4) - slow early. BLACK STOCKINGS (5) - checked early stages losing ground. SHELLY POM (6) - checked early stages losing ground.
Race 3	Carol's TAB Taipa Tavern Series Final - C3f - 318	FERNANDO CHARM (3) - raced on the hindquarters of PORTLAND BERRY in the run to the bend. PORTLAND BERRY (5) - hindquarters raced on in the run to the bend. Crowded entering the bend checking outwards off heels.
Race 4	Pump & Engineering Services Ltd Stakes - C1 - 527	ISN'T SHE SASSY (5) - shifted up the track early stages forcing TRIGGERED up the track onto DADDY DONNY. Crowded and checked losing ground entering the first bend. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. GO HOME DUKE (6) - checked entering the first bend. TRIGGERED (7) - checked up the track early stages being forced up onto DADDY DONNY. Crowded ISN'T SHE SASSY entering the first bend. DADDY DONNY (8) - checked entering the first bend. OVERTAKING (9/3) - slow away.
Race 5	Auckland Oaks - R/A - 527	FOND OF YOU (1) - tightened inside hindquarters for a distance entering the first turn. Jostled for a distance entering the bend leaving the back straight. DANISH DELIGHT (2) - collided after the start. Contacted from behind first turn. Bumped rounding the first turn and again entering the back straight. Jostled for a distance entering the bend leaving the back straight. UNO ME NOW (3) - tightened and checked after the start losing ground. Bumped entering the first turn. ZIPPING BARTY (4) - collided after the start. Contact several occasions approaching the first turn. Bumped rounding the first turn and again entering the back straight. CANADIAN ACE (6) - slow away. Bumped several occasions approaching the first turn then awkwardly placed on heels losing ground. Raced in restricted room for a distance final bend becoming awkwardly placed near the running rail making contact losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. THRILLING NEVE (7) - contact several occasions approaching the first turn then checked shifting wider losing ground. Tightened onto the running rail entering the bend leaving the back straight losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. BIG TIME SMILE (8) - slow away. Contacted from behind first turn becoming briefly unbalanced. Contact for a distance final bend.
Race 6	Royal Commission Trophy - INV - 318	BIG TIME FUZZ (1) - contact after the start. BIG TIME FAIRY (3) - tightened making contact for a distance after the start losing ground. Shifted away from the rail first turn. BIG TIME VEGAS (4) - contact after the start. Dictated wider first turn. Placed on heels rounding the bend. SPORTS MODE (7) - checked inwards entering the bend. BURNING RAIN (9/2) - collided after the start losing ground. ROD'S GIRL (10/8) - slow away.
Race 7	Auckland Derby - R/A - 527	THRILLING MILO (2) - shouldered with NANGAR RIDGE exiting the final bend. Briefly shouldered with MURMUR in the run to the bend. NANGAR RIDGE (3) - jostled with MURMUR approaching the first bend. Shouldered with THRILLING MILO exiting the final bend. MURMUR (4) - jostled with NANGAR RIDGE approaching the first bend. Awkwardly positioned on heels rounding the final bend. Turned its head inwards towards THRILLING MILO in the run to the finish coming down the track and briefly shouldering with this runner. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. Stood down for 3 months and pending a satisfactory trial for Failing to Pursue the Lure. SERBIAN ACE (9/6) - slow early. Crowded first bend being obligated to check off heels.
Race 8	Hifi Allegro Sprint Final - C5f - 318	ARCHIE JOHN HILL (1) - placed on heels exiting the bend. EXPRESS EMPORIUM (3) - shifted up the track early stages. Jostled with BUDDY BOOM in the run to the bend. BIG TIME BRIE (6) - checked and lost momentum rounding the bend. BUDDY BOOM (8) - shifted inwards early stages colliding with EXPRESS EMPORIUM. Became awkward in its gait thereafter losing ground with the field. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a torn left gracilis with a 42 day incapacitation issued. Must trial prior to resuming.
Race 9	Peter Earley Classic - INV - 527	ELECTRIC SHOCK (1) - inconvenienced rounding the first bend. BERET GIRL (3) - placed in restricted room entering the bend having to check outwards inconveniencing ELECTRIC SHOCK and BIG TIME PLUTO. SPRING QUEEN (4) - began awkwardly settling last. BIG TIME PLUTO (6) - crowded and obligated to check off heels in the run to the first bend. Inconvenienced rounding the first bend.
Race 10	50th Duke Of Edinburgh Silver Collar (Group 1) Final - C2df - 779	HAIRPIN TRIGGER (2) - crowded and had to steady entering the first bend. Raced in restricted room exiting the final bend. STUDENT LOAN (3) - slow early. Lost momentum entering the first bend when awkwardly placed on heels CLAWS IN LEO (4) - collided with LITTLE TEEGS in the run to the first bend. LITTLE TEEGS (6) - checked inwards off heels in the run to the first bend colliding with CLAWS IN LEO. DOBBY WHO (8) - slow early.
Race 11	Mt Wellington TAB Series Final - C1f - 527	THRILLING GEM (3) - began awkwardly having its front paw entangled in its muzzle with this becoming dislodged. Checked off heels approaching the first bend. DIAMOND TIGER (8) - slow early.
Race 12	The Amazing Chase 2021 - INV - 527	FEDERAL MORGAN (7) - faltered and lost ground exiting the back straight. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have sustained a fractured right hock with the greyhound being sent for x-rays with a 92 day 10-day incapacitation issued and must trial prior to resuming.
