TAB Auckland Cup Day generates record turnover

Greyhound Racing New Zealand (GRNZ) is pleased to announce that the betting turnover for last Sunday’s TAB Auckland Cup Day at Manukau Stadium was the highest recorded for an Auckland Cup Day in recent years.

Sunday’s total turnover figure of $664,282 was also the third highest turnover figure recorded for a Sunday race meeting at Manukau Stadium in the past 20 years, with only the 2015 and 2021 Silver Collar race meetings generating higher turnovers.

GRNZ CEO Edward Rennell said, “It is wonderful to see that greyhound racing clearly remains a popular betting product in New Zealand. I’d also like to reiterate my thanks to Entain for coming on board as the sponsor of this year’s Auckland Cup and for their overall support of the day.”

Cameron Rodger, Managing Director - New Zealand for Entain Australia and New Zealand, the operators of TAB, said, “The Auckland Cup is an important and iconic race on the greyhound racing calendar, so we were pleased to be able to support both the Auckland Cup and the meeting. It’s encouraging to see the meeting perform so well.”
