Judicial report: Trainers P Freeman and A Turnwald were fined $50.00 (Minor Infringements Table) after admitting a breach of Rule 71.4 when POOR BOUNCE did not have a catcher provided in Race 2.

Race 1 www.agrc.co.nz Sprint - C2/3 - 318 DOLLY SCRAMBLE was checked soon after the jump as FAIR MOVIN ran outwards with DOLLY SCRAMBLE dropping to the rear. CAWBOURNE MADZ ran outwards into the bend with KAMACO, ELITE IMPACT and BOTANY SHELLEY all being pushed wide and losing ground. The favourite GO TO CROW was handy throughout and battled well for third. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner REGAL TENT kennel representative Mike Lozell stated that an inside draw aided the dog to make a smart beginning and that when in front the dog is always hard to run down.
Race 2 Reel-Fishin.com Sprint - C0 - 527 POOR BOUNCE was very slow to jump. BON VOGUE ran inwards soon after the jump badly checking OUT BY FIVE who lost ground with the favourite IGNITE THE LIGHT receiving a slight bump at this stage. IGNITE THE LIGHT recovered well to run second. In the back straight SAND QUEEN was checked from behind by POOR BOUNCE and lost ground. RHYME IN MELODY ran wide on the home turn losing ground but once balanced finished well to win. The head on view of the home straight revealed that TOP CAT had marred IGNITE THE LIGHT. The side on view didn't show the incident but it appeared from the head on view that this was just after the finishing line had been reached. Trainer G Calverley was informed that the racing manners of TOP CAT will be closely monitored in future starts.
Race 3 Win A Trip To Royal Ascot Sprint - C4 - 318 WILD FLYNN was last to jump. Following the race MATILDA'S BEST was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed hock, bicep muscle and whip muscle tenderness with a seven day stand down recommended.
Race 4 Jack's Wholesale Meats Stakes - C1 - 527 SEEING EXCUSES was badly tightened into the first bend and lost ground remaining well back throughout. SEEING EXCUSES got his muzzle stuck on the lure for some time with a post race veterinary check revealing a sore neck and throat with a seven day stand down recommended. When questioned about the form reversal of the winner LOOSE GENIUS co-trainer Wayne Steele stated that the dog had not been jumping well of late and finding trouble in his races however tonight a clear run assisted in the dog's improved effort.
Race 5 MTA Auckland Cup Consolation - C5 - 527 Favourite NONNA'S GIRL and TRIPLE TEE were both tightened into the first bend with TRIPLE TEE making solid contact with the running rail and dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check revealed stifle bruising and a grazed quick with a seven day stand down recommended. NONNA'S GIRL then checked outwards of KAZZ RAZZ on the bend and lost momentum settling well back. She was unable to make ground up on the leaders after those early checks.
Race 6 Carols TABS Sprint - C5 - 318 Favourite RIPPED JEANS, BOTANY ANGELA and CAWBOURNE JOSE were all slow to jump. BOTANY ANGELA hit the rail forcefully in the back straight and lost ground with a post race veterinary check revealing left stifle bruising with a seven day stand down recommended. RIPPED JEANS and CAWBOURNE JOSE were both tightened into the bend and lost ground and their chances.
Race 7 Racing For Christchurch Appeal Fund Stakes - C2 - 527 TONY CAN'T GO and THRILLING APRIL ran inwards soon after the jump and with COOL ROYALE running outwards these dogs and SALLY SAY SO all lost ground. YAMBLA BOB checked outwards off FANCY MILLY into the first bend and lost some momentum.
Race 8 Magness Benrow Stayers Cup - C2d - 779 SIPPIN TEQUILA and GIRL CHARM were the last to jump. LADY MARIANNE checked off the back of GIRL CHARM on the home turn when well back.
Race 9 Group 2 Auckland Co-op Taxis Railway Sprint Final - C5f - 318 MY JACK ATTACK was a shade slow from the inside and then ran outwards into the bend and checked off KNOW JOY losing ground. BIG GIFT came together with ALLEGRO VISION at the entrance to the home straight and ran outwards badly checking an improving favourite HIFI ALLEGRO who lost his chance. WEE PING DOLL ran wide around the first bend and lost ground.
Race 10 Group 1 MTA Auckland Cup Final - C5f - 527 AWESOME BENDER was the slowest to jump. OLYMPIC ACE ran inwards from his outside draw soon after the jump and checked EMBEZZLEMENT and the favourite SERGIO who both lost ground. SERGIO then checked outwards off CORE POWER on the first bend and lost momentum with EMBEZZLEMENT receiving a further check at this stage and dropping to the rear. SERGIO was then forced to cover extra ground in the back straight when improving and ran on to be just over 3 lengths from the winner in fifth place.
Race 11 AirCare Pet Services Stakes - C2/3 - 527 THRILLING CAIRO ran inwards at the jump and tightened SUMMER SPICE and STRIKE ONCE on his inside for a few strides. The favourite SMOKIN' ICHIBAN was tightened into the first bend and lost ground and then held up off the back straight when attempting to improve. He made up a lot of ground when clear to be a close third.
Race 12 Auckland Co-op Taxis Railway Sprint Consolation - C5 - 318 SCOTT NO FUNDING was tightened soon after the jump and settled last. The favourite ONE TOUGH COOKIE was checked by CHEVERTON soon after this and then came together with RON'S SECRET into the bend as TO THE CREST ran outwards with all dogs losing ground. ONE TOUGH COOKIE was noticed to be making ground late once into the clear.
