Judicial report: CAWBOURNE SNEAKY and CAWBOURNE KING were late scratchings from races 1 and 7 respectively and as a result Trainer J.T.McInerney was fined $ 250-00 under Rule 88.1 o for negligence in not ensuring that the dogs were scratched by the required time. In reaching the decision on quantum of penalty, it was taken into account that the kennel representative S.McInerney was warned in relation to the late scratching of dogs at the Wellington meeting one week previous.
J.T.McInerney the Trainer of CAWBOURNE WILKO was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 69.11 when the dog was presented 1.7 kilograms under its last race weight on 30.04.10.
J.T.McInerney the Trainer of SWIP TASTIC was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 69.11 when the dog was presented 1.6 kilograms over its last race weight on 03.05.10.

THRILLING BLAST then raced wide over extra ground on the first bend and faded over the final part of the race to finish several lengths last. Although he had been stepping up to a middle distance after recently racing in sprints, he was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. |
Race 2 | Valley Parking Services - C2 - 305 | ERIC PHOENIX was handy to the lead on the first corner but was checked losing several lengths and he finished several lengths last. ERIC PHOENIX was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. HOMEBUSH KELLY led to the first corner but was checked soon after and lost four lengths. She was checked again on the home turn when bumped by PSYCHOTIC and finished in 2nd last place. B.Goldsack the Trainer of the winner CLAN DOUGLAS requested the dog be examined by the Vet after the race and CLAN DOUGLAS was cleared of injury. |
Race 3 | Commercial Plumbing - C4 - 305 | The hot favourite REALON RAPTURE was one of the slowest to begin but made up ground until checked on the first corner. He then ran on well to finish in 4th place. FARMOR ENFORCER was also checked on the first corner and she went back and was galloped on by SWIP TASTIC and they lost several lengths and finished in the last two places. FARMOR ENFORCER was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury. |
Race 4 | Thornton Auctions - C2/3 - 520 | LAWS HILL and WANDY HAKA were tightened and checked on the first corner with WANDY HAKA losing three lengths in the incident. OPAWA GEM moved in entering the back straight and checked WANDY HAKA who went back and out causing checks to GOSS SAGE and DANGLE THE CARAT and they never recovered and finished in the rear group. |
Race 5 | The Brownzy Sports Bar NZ Futurity Consolation - R/A - 520 | JET MINT was checked on the first corner losing ground and he never recovered and finished in 2nd last place. |
Race 6 | The Brownzy Sports Bar NZ Futurity Final- Group 2, 6 Pack - R/Af - 520 | OPAWA PATTY who started from box 8, moved across soon after the start and caused jostling and checks of varying degrees to all other runners. The favourite LITTLE MOTHER was forced to race wide on the first bend as a result of the earlier crowding. PRESSURE POINT and OPAWA COLLAR were checked again on the first corner and lost further ground and they finished in 5th and 6th places. |
Race 7 | Cafe Cibo Wellington Stakes - C5 - 520 | One of the better supported runners WATMOUGH was awkwardly placed between runners running into the first bend and was then checked losing four lengths when entering the back straight. WATMOUGH was observed to be running on to finish in 5th place. |
Race 8 | Opawa Racing Ltd Premier Sprint Final - C5f - 305 | BACK DRAUGHT ran in from box 8 at the start and caused checks to HIFI ALLEGRO, JILL BAXTER and BRADMAN'S WILLOW who all lost ground. A little further on HIFI ALLEGRO and JILL BAXTER were again checked and HIFI ALLEGRO was checked again on the first corner and JILL BAXTER, HIFI ALLEGRO and BRADMAN'S WILLOW never recovered and finished in the last three places. THRILLING MIX checked over the heels of POWERFUL ENEMY in the home straight and lost ground and he finished in 5th place. |
Race 9 | www.stabletalk.co.nz - C5 - 305 | AZURE OSTI who drew box 1 wanted to race away from the rail in the run to the first corner and she along with SCOTT NO WIVES and AWESOME AGENT were checked when ALLEGRO VISION moved in after beginning from box 6. AZURE OSTI was the most affected and she went back to the rear and finished in 2nd last place. KYLE IZMIR who was racing in behind the other runners was also affected in the incident and she stayed back to finish in last place. |
Race 10 | Gold Band Finance - C3 - 305 | PENIE'S FROM ran in racing to the first corner and checked CAWBOURNE OPAL who lost ground. LOOKS DECIEVING was checked on the first corner and went back to the rear. Soon after CAWBOURNE OPAL and LE FLAMBEUR came together and jostled for several strides and and they lost ground and finished in the last two places. |
