| Race 1 | Allied Work Force 0800 Labour - C2 - 305 | One of the favourites SIX TO MIDNIGHT was very slow to begin losing several lengths and all chance and he finished in 2nd last place. GYM CLASS HERO moved out and EVE HILL moved in on the first corner and this resulted in jostling and checks to FIVE KAY KAT, THRILLING KITE and EVE HILL who all lost ground. |
| Race 2 | OfficeMax - C3 - 305 | ROYAL MINTY was a little slow to begin and settled at the rear. She then had to check over the heels of KILKENNY on the bend losing further ground and finished in 2nd last place. MISSY OCTANE was mid field on the first corner but was checked back to last and stayed in that position to the finish. |
| Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron, Wanganui - C2/3 - 520 | REALON RAZZLE moved in racing to the first corner and checked SLICE OF MAGIC, PURE CHEMISTRY and BOTANY BARB who all lost ground. McCABE moved in from a wide draw on the first corner and checked TATTY BOGLE who went back and out and this resulted in checks to FLASHFIRE COAL, PURE CHEMISTRY and SLICE OF MAGIC who all lost ground. SLICE OF MAGIC recovered best those affected and he finished well for 3rd placing. BOTANY BARB was checked back to last when entering the final bend and she stayed back and finished in that position. |
| Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ)Ltd - C4 - 305 | HEAR NO EVIL and TIM BAXTER were both slow to begin. TIM BAXTER stayed well back but HEAR NO EVIL made a good recovery to finish in 3rd place. CAWBOURNE DORE ran in from the start and checked UPAHUT ZORRO and MISS ARKANSAS with UPAHUT ZORRO being the most affected and he then ran wide over extra ground and finished in last place. MISS ARKANSAS received a clear rails run after the early check and finished in 4th place. |
| Race 5 | Keenan Concrete, Wanganui - C4 - 520 | GOSS SAGE was checked back to last when tightened on the first corner. He then checked again entering the final bend and eventually finished in 6th place. |
| Race 6 | Group 1 Breeders Stakes Final - R/Af - 520 | HARAJUKU BOY was checked on the first corner and moved out forcing SPEED TICKET and OPAWA SECRET wide into the first bend and all three lost ground and they never recovered and finished in the last three places. |
| Race 7 | Mickey's Super Liquor, Wanganui - C4/5 - 305 | GOT THE JUICE moved out from the rail on the first corner and this resulted in checks to THRILLING MIX and CAPTAIN HASTINGS and GOT THE JUICE was also affected in the jostling which occurred. GOT THE JUICE recovered to finish in 2nd place with THRILLING MIX and CAPTAIN HASTINGS finishing in 5th and 6th places. |
| Race 8 | Vita Power Stakes - C4/5 - 520 | One of the better supported runners WATMOUGH settled back in the field and then checked over the heels of HEAR THE CHEERS on the first bend and never really recovered and finished in 5th place. |
| Race 9 | Bilderbeck Construction, Wanganui - C4/5 - 305 | BENGINEER was a little slow to begin and he then checked over the heels of SWIFT CONQUEST in the back straight and went back to a clear last. BENGINEER then ran a little wide on the bend but did make up some ground to finish in 6th place. |
| Race 10 | Broad Roofing Services, Wanganui - C4 - 305 | CHINESE GIRL was handy to the first corner but was checked when making contact with FOUR TO MIDNIGHT who had moved out from the rail and CHINESE GIRL lost ground. ART DECO was checked on the bend and dropped back causing checks to CHINESE GIRL and ELLABILLE ANGEL who both fell. SPECTRA CONQUEST was also checked on the bend and forced very wide on the turn into the straight losing all chance. ELLABILLE ANGEL and CHINESE GIRL were both examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. |
