Track: Heavy 68mls of rain was recorded on track between the last race on Tuesday 25 May 2010 and the 1st race this evening. A further 10mls fell during the meeting. The track was heavy throughout the meeting with cold intermittent showers. A decision was made to keep all equipment off the racing surface during the meeting and it held up well.

Race 1	Advance Pet Nutrition Sprint - C4 - 295	CAWBOURNE DUNE and SORRY VANDERFORD came together into the bend. Into the home straight SORRY VANDERFORD and ICE BALL came together with ICE BALL being checked coming back on KNOW SPORTY.
Race 2	Challenge Opawa All Up Dash - C3 - 295	Both FULL ON BOWIE and LEVERAGE were slow to jump. HE'S SO FINE was checked when tightened into the bend.
Race 3	Coalgate Tavern Stakes - C3 - 520	SELF INFLICTED was slow to jump. Across the top bend SELF INFLICTED and KNOCK 'EM DOWN were checked as QUETEE JEWEL improved on their inner.
Race 4	M.B.J. Electrical Ph3838396 Stakes - C4/5 - 520	Both KNOW QUESTION and WINSOME CRUISER were slow to jump with WINSOME CRUISER slowing noticably into the first bend drifting out to finish a distant last. CHARLIE STUBBS was checked when tightened into the first bend. A veterinary check revealed nothing amiss. Trainer RH ADCOCK was shown the race film with the dog displaying an action which indicated a hind limb injury. Stewards deemed the performance of WINSOME CRUISER to be unsatisfactory and he was ordered to undertake a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with Rule 81.1.
Race 5	www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/hamishmercer Dash - C5 - 295	Handler Jonathon McINERNEY experienced difficulty in loading RON'S SAINT away, the dog flipping onto his back prior to the back door of the box being closed. He was reloaded and was slow to jump. McINERNEY was warned for a breach of Rule 72.12. HIFI ALLEGRO was slow to jump and ran outwards into the bend checking RON'S SAINT and WILD ST. TEDDY. RON'S SAINT was designated a 'boxed first' dog for future race starts with his papers endorsed accordingly.
Race 6	Speight's Six Pack - C4 - 520	ZITA GRACE was slow to jump. Into the first bend GUTTER BLACK and SLICK RICK came together with SMASH KINGDOM moving wide before drifting out to finish last.
Race 7	Flair Canterbury Laurels Final - R/Af - 520	All clear.
Race 8	Miss Koonawarra Distance Feature - C1d - 645	SAND BURNER, DEVOTCHKA and ALCATRAZ BOY were tightened soon after the jump. The short priced favourite SAND BURNER settled last before passing two dogs to finish sixth. Trainer D FAHEY was interviewed regarding the performance of SAND BURNER and shown the race film. In explanation he said the dog had been tightened soon after the start and he was disappointed with the dogs performance. He also added that he may not have handled the heavy track conditions. FAHEY was advised that Stewards would watch the dogs future performances. ALCATRAZ BOY was vetted and found to have pain in his left wrist with a 21 day stand down recommended.
Race 9	2010 Top Gun Invitation - INV - 520	AWESOME BENDER, OPAWA FLYER and OPAWA COLLAR were slow to jump. Into the first bend AWESOME BENDER ran outwards coming in contact with OPAWA FLYER and OPAWA COLLAR who ran wide.
Race 10	Katz'n K9z Garden City Classic Final - R/Af - 520	Both CAWBOURNE BUNDY and CROSSFIRE MAX were slow to jump. Into the first bend AKON STAR was tightened by APATCHE JET as he moved down to the rail. Soon after BENJI LAFOURCHE moved outwards colliding with CROSSFIRE MAX who was forced wide on the track as a result.
Race 11	Dave Emerson Consultancy Harding Cup FInal - C5f - 295	MILLY'S MATE and DA BOSS were tightened by dogs on their outer into the bend. Soon after KNOW LOVE struck the hindquarters of CAFE CAPRI both losing ground.
Race 12	Snuggley Heat Pumps Ph.0275354525 Dash - C4 - 295	MISS BRUGGE and MARLENE'S BABE were slow to jump. Into the bend MISS BRUGGE improved between dogs resulting in REDLINE CHAOS being checked and coming back on MARLENE'S BABE who was forced wide.
