Judicial report: BIGTIME BALLAD completed a satisfactory trial under Rule 81 at Cambridge on 8 March. Trainer DD Schofield was fined $50.00 after admitting a breach of Rule 68.1 after WINSOME BOND was late to kennel for Race 9.

Race 1	Jack's Wholesale Meats Stakes - C1 - 527	FANCY KATE ran outwards in the early stages checking HOTWAX for a stride while into the first bend MISS JETSUN checked outwards off HOTWAX as that runner headed to the rails.
Race 2	Terry Ryan Timber Stakes - C1/2 - 527	MCCABE was slow to jump. On the home turn ARCTIC DREAM ran inwards checking MCCABE for a stride.
Race 3	The Brownzy Sports Bar Sprint - C4 - 318	TRUE INTENTION was a shade slow from the inside and was held up for a run down the back straight. Favourite BUTTERWORTH drifted to the rear down the back straight and never appeared to be hitting out well. A post race veterinary check revealed spike wounds with a seven day stand down recommended.
Race 4	AGRC Supporters Auckland Cup Consolation - C5 - 527	STICKY BOY ran out from the inside into the first bend contacting VIVALDI STAR and then being checked by BUT WHY NOT dropping to the rear. This dog made ground late for third. Favourite RASMAH was impeded at this stage and then badly held up in the back straight finally receiving racing room and making ground well for fourth. BUT WHY NOT also received a check in the back straight and dropped to last.
Race 5	Auckland Co-op Taxis Railway Sprint Consolation - C5 - 318	SUNSET BOMBER ran outwards slightly from the jump and tightened JAG'S FLYER for a stride. Soon after this JAG'S FLYER and SURFIN' MINT came together at the rear. SUNSET BOMBER was held up momentarily on the home turn as CAPTAIN CARLOS moved off the rail but ran on when clear for fourth.
Race 6	Magness Benrow Stakes - C4/5 - 527	SEPTEMBER BLUE was a stride slow to begin. Into the first bend OLYMPIC ACE was tightened in between runners losing some momentum while wider out BUZZ CAFE came together with FIFTH EDITION for a stride.
Race 7	Auckland Co-op Taxis Railway Sprint - C5f - 318	SEASWIFT ran inwards at the jump and this in combination with POWERFUL ENEMY angling outwards meant that DARK CAVALIER and TWO TO MIDNIGHT were both tightened losing ground. Into the bend FLYING CHAMELEON and TWO TO MIDNIGHT came together with FLYING CHAMELEON checking to the outside and losing her chance. POWERFUL ENEMY in behind was also badly checked in this incident. On the home turn MATES UNITE ran very wide losing ground.
Race 8	AGRC Supporters Auckland Cup - C5f - 527	SHADOW BOXER checked off AVA APPEAL in the early rush and settled last. UNCLE BULLY and AVA APPEAL came together into the first bend and SHADOW BOXER then checked outwards off AVA APPEAL out of the first turn and lost more ground. VARVATOS ran wide around the home turn and took SHADOW BOXER wider with both dogs running on very late wide.
Race 9	Carol's TABs Stakes - C3 - 527	BARKHAMSTED was tightened and ran outwards into the first bend checking STARSHINE GIRL who lost ground. CARMIA MATANNA in behind these dogs had to change ground to avoid them and ran outwards badly checking YORKLEA BEAUTY and WINSOME BOND who lost ground. YORKLEA BEAUTY did extremely well to run into third.
Race 10	Chilli's Restaurant & Bar Stakes - C4 - 318	CYCLONE PRESTO, LIGHT WESTERLY and JULIE APPEAL all came together at the back of the field in the back straight while JULIE APPEAL ran very wide into the home turn and lost ground.
