| Race 1 | ADVANCE PET NUTRITION SPRINT - C5 - 295 | DEAL FOR YOU drifted to last after the jump. Into the bend GIVE ME MORE was tightened before being struck from behind by REWIND HISTORY who lost ground. Soon after MISS HYPERACTIVE was dragged down by GIVE ME MORE when crossing towards the rail before being buffeted by ANOTHER BAXTER who improved on her inner. MISS HYPERACTIVE drifted to finish last and was subject to a veterinary check as well as being swabbed. The veterinary check revealed a small split to the right fore webbing with a 7 day stand down recommended. |
| Race 2 | CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL UP STAKES - C2 - 520 | CLEEVE HILL, SAFARI STORM, GUNNA SMOKE, WHO'S SHIFTY and TEE CEE were tightened by dogs on their outer soon after the jump. Into the home straight CHARLIE STUBBS moved inwards taking the line of an improving CLEEVE HILL who checked outwards to finish on for third. |
| Race 3 | HAPPY 72nd BIRTHDAY BERNIE HILL STAKES - C3 - 520 | HARBOUR BALE was tightened into the first bend coming back on CHESTNUT. Soon after HARBOUR BALE and SHAKIN' MARTINI came together. |
| Race 4 | www.duvauchellehotelmotel.co.nz DASH - C3 - 295 | KNOW SPORTY and OSWALD BOATENG were slow to jump. Into the bend MULBERRY MADAM moved outwards before checking off the heels of OSWALD BOATENG and into the path of KNOW SPORTY who as a result collided with MULBERRY MADAM. She fell but regained her feet to finish the race. A veterinary check revealed nothing amiss. |
| Race 5 | BARRON'S SUPPLIES SPRINT - C5 - 295 | FIREMAN'S RAFFLE and KNOW NEED were tightened by SINGAPORE WILLY into the bend both losing all chance. |
| Race 6 | SPEIGHT'S SIX PACK - C3/4 - 520 | SELF INFLICTED struck the rear of SMASH KINGDOM around the first bend forcing a trailing NITRO WIGIE wide. |
| Race 7 | www.greyhoundtips.co.nz DASH - C4 - 295 | Into the bend TALENT CITY ran outwards colliding with HAILSTONE HERB. Soon after ZAMMY was tightened by HOMEBUSH LENNY. STRAIGHT OFF was observed to jump from the boxes with his head turned before colliding with HOMEBUSH LENNY on his inner for three strides. Trainer MJ FLIPP was shown the race film and in explanation said that STRAIGHT OFF had his head turned when coming out of his box and had not made head contact with the dog on his inner. She beleived that he was looking for the lure. It was also noted that the dog went strongly into the lure at the finish of the race. After viewing the race film and taking into account FLIPP'S explanation STRAIGHT OFF was given the benefit of the doubt. The dog's future race starts would be monitored by Stewards. |
| Race 8 | 2009 KINGSTON CUP - C2d - 732 | SHEA SHERIE was tightened between GROOVY FINANCE and SUDDEN SAM into the first bend. Soon after SHEA SHERIE clipped the heels of SUDEN SAM before moving wide on the track. |
| Race 9 | 2009 CHRISTCHURCH CLASSIC - R/Af - 520 | GENISTA SUMMER was tightened into the first bend by OPAWA FLYER before checking outward and colliding with GENISTA DIAMOND and OPAWA SECRET. |
| Race 10 | 2009 KOLORFUL KANVAS ROBINSON ROSEBOWL - C5 - 520 | CHILE TART ran outwards into the first bend colliding with SENSATIVE HARRY resulting in a trailing KNOW SPIRIT wide on the track. |
| Race 11 | TRACKSIDE DINING NZ CUP NIGHT 03-3386145 DASH - C5 - 295 | KNOW BETTER and KNOW LOVE drifted to the rear after the jump. SHOW THE MONEY tightened WILD ST. TEDDY as he drove to the lead, both being checked and SHOW THE MONEY coming back on LITTLE MARVEL and CAWBOURNE HAPPY. SHOW THE MONEY continued to be tightened by GENISTA ASSASSIN around the bend while trying to improve along the rail. A veterinary check revealed GENISTA ASSASSIN to have right hip support muscle soreness with a 7 day stand down recommended. |
| Race 12 | DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C3 - 295 | KNOW GOOD tightened MR FUGLES and DOUGSTAR JAKE into the bend as he drove to the lead. MR FUGLES and DOUGSTAR JAKE came back on HE'S SO FINE and BOY GENIUS. Soon after DOUGSTAR JAKE checked out off the heels of KARL BAXTER running wide on the track and losing all chance. |
