| Race 1 | ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C2 - 305 | The favouriite SPECTRA CONQUEST was the slowest to begin and then raced a little wide on the track over extra ground and finished in last place. The Stewards could see no reason for the run which was below the punters expectation but noted that it was backed and beaten out of the money at its two most previous starts in the same grade. |
| Race 2 | MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR - C3/4 - 305 | RANUI was handy to the first corner but was then checked losing several lengths and he went back to last and stayed there to the finish. SUPERIOR BLACK and CAB DRIVER collided on the first corner and lost a little ground. CAPTAIN BOYCOTT was also affected in the incident and was forced wide over extra ground on the bend but then ran on for 4th placing. |
| Race 3 | KEENAN CONCRETE - C2 - 520 | EVA TITU, TAILS OFF, BOLTS BOLTED and POUTAMA RAMA were all checked and lost several lengths on the first corner and they never recovered and finished in the last four places. |
| Race 4 | www.wanganuicarcentre.com - C3 - 305 | WHATA BOWLA was checked twice on the bend when coming into contact with BOY GENIUS and she lost ground but did run on for 4th placing. One of the favourites BRASS KNUCKLES was the slowest to begin and lost three lengths and he finished in 6th place. |
| Race 5 | Peter Sinclair Photos - C2/3 - 520 | The favourite ALFA DANCER came out of the boxes a little awkwardly and collided with BACK DRAUGHT but recovered quickly to go on and win the race. WINSOME DIGNITY and CHIVAS REGAL were checked losing several lengths entering the back straight and they stayed well back to finish in 6th and 7th places. |
| Race 6 | Wanganui Stayers Group 2 Final - C2d - 755 | The start was delayed by 2 minutes at the request of Raceday control. WINSOME DOSH jumped on terms with the other runners but dropped back soon after to be several lengths behind the field and she stayed back throughout the remainder of the race and finished a long last. She was examined by the Vet and stood down for 21 days with an injury to a bicep femoris. |
| Race 7 | Broad Roofing Services Feature - C4 - 305 | POLSKA and BIGTIME THUNDER ran in from the start and checked COLERIDGE ANDIE and HUTT PARK LASS who both settled back in the field. SCISSOR SISTERS led into the bend but was checked from behind as ADDIS JAY went through to the lead and she dropped back causing checks to HUTT PARK FLYER, BIGTIME THUNDER and POLSKA. SCISSOR SISTERS and HUTT PARK FLYER recovered to finiish in 2nd and 3rd places but BIGTIME THUNDER and POLSKA stayed back to finish in the rear group. |
| Race 8 | CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD - C4/5 - 520 | LAGOON GROVE was the slowest to begin and was four lengths last with a circuit to run but then received a clear rails run until the home turn where she moved out around the leader to go on and win the race. |
| Race 9 | VITA POWER - C5 - 305 | ALL ABOUT DOSH was checked on the first corner and went back to last and stayed there to the finish. ALLEGRO VISION and WONGAWILLINEV collided on the home turn and WONGAWILLINEV recovered to finish well for 2nd place. ALLEGRO VISION lost a little momentum in the incident but still finished in 4th place. |
| Race 10 | MEDIA WORKS - C2 - 305 | WINSOME DOLL was slow to begin losing four lengths and she then ran past runners who had been checked on the first corner and she finished in 5th place. THRILLING TURK was checked on the first corner and dropped back onto MODERN WINDOWS who fell. MAD DECISION and BIGTIME DORA were also checked soon after and they finished at the rear. MODERN WINDOWS was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with general bruising and a small cut under an eye. |
