Judicial report: Weather: Showers turning to heavy rain and back to showers. W.J.Hodgson was firmly reminded of his obligations and was issued with a final warning after it was observed that he had taken an unacceptable amount of time to box FANCY SHELLY in race 5.

Race 1	ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C2/3 - 305	All clear.
Race 2	VITA POWER FEATURE - C2 - 520	CAWBOURNE FORCE led for most of the race but faded quickly in the final straight to finish in 5th place. One of the favourites BOTANY JIM was away well but brushed together with DEL TONES near the first corner and dropped back several places. He never recovered the lost ground and finished in 2nd last place. VIVALDI ROAD J.T.McInerney Rule 64 Suffering from a lacerated foot and stood down for 7 days to and including 13.05.09. Papers to be endorsed.
Race 3	BILDERBECK CONSTRUCTION LTD FEATURE - C4 - 305	I'M INFECTIOUS was away well but was severely checked on the first corner and went back onto FAST STASS with both dogs losing several lengths and they finished in the last two places. ELITE DESTINY S.Clark Rule 64 Suffering from a carpus injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 16.05.09. Papers to be endorsed at Auckland meeting on 10.05.09
Race 4	MICKEYS SUPER LIQUOR FEATURE - C3 - 520	CAWBOURNE ACE, SARAH'S POWER and GOLLY GEE bumped together on the first corner and lost ground with GOLLY GEE being the most affected. On the first bend BULLISH MEGASTAR had to check over heels and moved out forcing SARAH'S POWER and FANCY KATE wide over extra ground. LAGOON GROVE moved out on the first bend and checked GOLLY GEE and SMART SHARMILA and they all lost ground and finished in the last three places.
Race 5	PUNTERS CORNER SPORTS BAR & TAB OTAKI - C4/5 - 520	All clear.
Race 6	KEENEN CONCRETE 6 PACK FEATURE - C5 - 305	SET IN STONE galloped onto the heels of TWIST MIST on the bend and lost three lengths. TWIST MIST then moved inwards and collided with ELITE BAXTER and fell heavily. TWIST MIST was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with possible concussion. TWIST MIST B.Cole Rule 82 Checked and fell and suffered from possible concussion and stood down for 7 days to and including 14.05.09.
Race 7	FIRST SOVEREIGN TRUST SPION ROSE - C5f - 520	APPOINTED TIME and LIGHT WESTERLY collided on jumping from the boxes and settled at the rear. APPOINTED TIME then made up some ground to finish in 5th place but LIGHT WESTERLY tailed the field throughout to finish last.
Race 8	BROAD ROOFING SERVICES FEATURE - C4 - 520	One of the favourites WATMOUGH began awkwardly and lost ground but then secured a clear rails run and finished well for 2nd place. BABA GANOOSH was tightened from the outside on the first corner and went from a reasonably handy position, back to last and tailed the field from there to finish several lengths behind the 2nd last dog. BABA GANOOSH did not appear to be galloping correctly and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury but may have suffered from cramp during the race. NO DRAMA DON was checked entering the back straight and lost three lengths.
Race 9	CROMBIE LOCKWOOD (NZ) LTD - C5 - 305	FANCY EEL moved in from the start and checked BOB BAXTER who dropped back to last. LES BAXTER, WONGAWILLINEV and CHINESE GIRL bumped together on the first corner and lost ground. Soon after, BOB BAXTER checked off the back of CHINESE GIRL and then off the back of LES BAXTER losing further ground and he finished in 2nd last place. CHINESE GIRL finished several lengths last and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with a gracilus muscle injury. BLACK TIE L.Ahern Rule 64 Suffering from a carpus injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 14.05.09. CHINESE GIRL B.Cole Rule 82 Checked and suffered a gracilus muscle injury and stood down for 28 days to and including 04.06.09
Race 10	MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C4 - 305	RYMOR REASON and TONY BAXTER bumped together for several strides in the run to the first corner and they both lost ground .
