JOHNNY MIDNIGHT then went forward to be in 2nd place on the final bend but faded a little in the straight to finish in 4th place. |
| Race 6 | PUNTERS CORNER SPORTS BAR & TAB WANGANUI DISTANCE - C2df - 755 | GIRL LEG ran in soon after the start and checked VARVATOS, GROOVY FINANCE and WINSOME DOSH who all lost ground. Soon after, TEEGAN moved in and checked VARVATOS, GROOVY FINANCE and WINSOME DOSH and they lost further ground with WINSOME DOSH dropping out to the rear. On the first corner MR JAZZ was tightened adjacent to the rail and he went back to the rear and he and WINSOME DOSH never recovered and tailed the field from there to the finish. VARVATOS recovered after the early checks and made ground well to finish in 3rd place. |
| Race 7 | BROAD ROOFING SERVICES - C5q - 305 Heat 1 | The winner HIFI ALLEGRO came across from the start and this reulted in pressure onto inside runners with HUTT PARK FLYER and JILL BAXTER jostling for several strides until HUTT PARK FLYER eventually dropped back. DIGAMMA made firm contact with the rail soon after the start and lost ground and he stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. DIGAMMA was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with bruising and also has mild acidosis. JOSHIE'S GIRL W.T.Hodgson Rule 64 Suffering from a tricep muscle injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 04.05.09. PIZZA GIRL Gained a start in race 10. DIGAMMA D.L.Roberts Rule 82 Struck the rail and suffering from bruising and mild acidosis and stood down for 10 days to and including 10.05.09. |
