Health and Safety comment: The 295m starts were electronically started without incident following repairs being effected to a break in an underground cable feeding those boxes by the Club Electrician.

Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer JM Jopson was fined $100 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when DANCE FOR DANNY, a starter in race one weighed in 1.6kgs under his last race start weight.
Trainer AC Roberts was fined $50 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when PAYTON BALE, a starter in race 4 weighed in 1.1kgs under his last race start weight.
Trainer JM Jopson was fined $50 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when MR PROVOCATIVE weighed in 1.5kgs under his last start weight.
Trainer JT McInerney was fined $50 for a breach of Rule 69.11 when WHISKY BOY, a starter in race 6, weighed in 1.5kgs under his last start weight.

Race 2 CHALLENGE OPAWA ALL-UP SPRINT - C4 - 295 Into the bend MICRO SISSY ran out and clipped an improving MIRKOLA BALE and was pushed into the path of BLAZIN A TRAIL who ran wide taking WILLY ECHO and NO HALF PACE with him, these dogs filling the last three placings. KARL BAXTER (JT McInerney) scratched at Christchurch GRC meeting on 23 September 2008. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 27 September 2008.
Race 3 SPEIGHTS SIX PACK - C4/5 - 520 COOL GROOVY was pushed wide around the first bend losing ground but ran on solidly late.
Race 4 WWW.GREYHOUNDTIPS.CO.NZ STAKES - C4 - 520 Soon after the jump WANDY HAKA ran out and pushed REPEAT OFFENDER onto ASAFA BALE, PAYTON BALE, JAYMESS and COLDHARBOR who lost ground. Around the bend ASAFA BALE checked off PAYTON BALE and cannoned into JAYMESS.
Race 5 ROBBIE'S BAR AND BISTRO SPRINT - C2/3 - 295 Into the bend WORLD WARNING eased off the heels of THEMELO and both dogs suffered checks. THEMELO went back on BOY GENIUS who went back and stayed there. PAINT THE STARS (C Mitchell) left hind web tear. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 7 October 2008.
Race 6 WWW.CANTERBURYPROPERTY.CO.NZ STAKES - C2/3 - 520 Into the first bend GROOVY BAND was tightened for room along the rail, checked out into the path of JIMMY BLACKSMITH and pushed WHISKY BOY wide on the track.
Race 7 2008 CHRISTCHURCH CLASIC FINAL - RESq - 520 Heat 1 Into the first bend WINSOME UNO was tightened for room against the fence, checked off the heels of KNOW HELP and contacted TEDDY NOVA and SHAKIN' MARTINI on her outside. JACKALICIOUS (SR Fagan) vomitting. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 28 September 2008. DELUSIONIST (J&D Fahey) swollen left hind metatarsal. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 30 September 2008. KNOW BEST (GA Cleeve) tracheitis. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 7 days up to and including 1 October 2008.
Race 8 2008 KINGSTON CUP FINAL - C2df - 732 Around the first bend SCOTT NO TRACK collided with CYBER BLUE who checked and dropped out to last where she stayed. A post race veterinary check on CYBER BLUE revealed nothing amiss.
Race 9 WILSON'S SPORTS BAR AND SPRINT - C4 - 295 SAINT DANIEL stumbled out of the boxes and effectively lost all chance. Into the bend CAWBOURNE SAM ran out and collided with KNOW FAITH, HOMEBUSH BUZZ and LYRICAL BALE. These dogs dropped to the rear of the field where they stayed. BENZENE (J&D Fahey) acute diarrhoea. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 5 days up to and including 29 September 2008.
Race 10 DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER DASH - C5 - 295 HISTORICAL was tightened by dogs on her outer into the bend losing all chance to finish at the rear.
