Race 1	ALLIED WORK FORCE 0800 LABOUR - C3/4 - 520	One of the favourites ANOTHER LLOYD was checked and lost ground on the first bend. ANOTHER LLOYD was then held up behind LAGOON LAD starting the last bend, galloped on that runners heels and they both lost several lengths and finished in the last two places.
Race 2	GUTHRIE BOWRON,WANGANUI - C1/2 - 520	All clear. IRINKA RALPH A.C.Roberts Rule 64 Suffering from a knee injury and stood down for 14 days to and including 25.08.08. Vet certificate to be presented. ROSAMOND J.T.McInerney Rule 64 Suffering from hip pain and stood down for 7 days to and including 20.08.08
Race 3	WWW.WANGANUICARCENTRE.COM - C5 - 305	TRENDY MOMENT was slow to begin losing 4 lengths but made up ground well for 4th place. CAWBOURNE GREG galloped on SWIFT TOKEN soon after the start and they lost ground and stayed back to finish in the rear group. WILL ZAM was awkwardly placed inside SIMPLY BLESSED on the bend and lost three lengths and all chance of a placing. BIGTIME EXPRESS who was in behind was also checked in the incident and lost ground.
Race 4	MICKEY'S SUPER LIQUOR - C1d - 645	All clear.
Race 5	MORRIE GIBBONS SIGNS - C5 - 305	HILLYS TIP moved out on the first corner and bumped SKADDADLE and TIGGERLONG FURY who both lost ground. SKADDLADLE, TIGGERLONG FURY and HAZEM EL MAGIC jostled together for several strides approaching the home turn and they finished in the rear group.
Race 6	KEENAN CONCRETE - C4 - 520	PINK RELTUB, SHE'S TOO COOL and BETTYSUE BALE were checked on the first corner and lost ground and they never recovered and finished in the last three places. RONRAY COMMAND R.Adcock Rule 64 Suffering from a gracilus muscle injury and stood down for 42 days to and including 24.09.08. HONCHO J.T.McInerney Rule 64 Suffering from diarrhoea and stood down for 5 days to and including 17.08.08.
Race 7	WANGANUI STAYERS FINAL - C2df - 755	BILLY BAXTER checked off the heels of WINSOME DOSH on the first corner and lost five lengths. BILLY BAXTER never made up the lost ground and finished in last place. He was examined by the Vet as a precaution and was cleared of injury. WINSOME DOSH also lost a little ground in the incident but ran on well to finish a close 4th
Race 8	WANGANUI FARM SUPPLIES - C5 - 520	FRENCH INVADER and GRINGO were checked back to the rear soon after the start. FRENCH INVADER recovered to finish in 3rd place but GRINGO only ran on fairly to finish in 6th place. LAGOON PHOENIX was with the other runners to the first bend but then dropped out to finish several lengths last. A Vets examination was ordered but was not carried out due to a misunderstanding. LAGOON PHOENIX is required to be cleared by a vet before next starting. PORCELAIN GIRL L.Ahern Rule 64 Suffering from a dew claw injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 20.08.08.
Race 9	WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C4 - 305	COUNT LANI, ADAMINSKI, BIGTIME DORA and BIGTIME WORLD were all checked on the first corner and they lost all chance and finished in the last four places.
Race 10	SEE YOU @ THE RED - C3 - 305	HOMEBUSH DUNCAN was very slow to begin losing four lengths but ran on well to finish in 4th place. ROSE OF TARLEE was checked back to last on the bend and finished in that position.
