BAXTERS LAD and ROMAN CASTLE were tightened soon after the jump. Into the bend REBEL CASTE was tightened drifting to last never improving throughout the event. TOMAHAWK DOWN was observed to have his strapping unravel soon after the start, it finally falling free entering the home straight. Trainer GA Cleeve was spoken to as was the Club veterinarian and both confirmed that adhesive elastoplast tape was used which had unravelled through the wet conditions. Cleeve advised that the dogs had walked through water on the inside of the harness track throughout the program and this had no doubt contributed to the strapping failing. HOMEBUSH BONNIE drifted to last after the jump finishing well back. Into the bend the favourite LOCHINVAR LOUIS clipped SYDNEY HAVOC who faultered drifting out and pulling up. LOCHINVAR LOUIS finished near the rear. SYDNEY HAVOC was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed afractured hock resulting in euthanasia. SYDNEY HAVOC (WJ Cairns) euthanased.
