Race 1	METEOR PRINTERS - C2 - 305	One of the favourites BIGTIME JOY began very awkwardly and lost several lengths and all chance of a placing although she did make up a lot of ground. BIGTIME JOY was examined by the vet and cleared of injury. SHARIMORE and BIGTIME LEE jostled together for several strides in the race to the first corner but recovered to finish 2nd and 3rd. CHARLIE CASH and JEN'S LASS also bumped together and lost ground on the first turn and finished well back.
Race 2	DIMOCKS RETROVISION - C4/5 - 305	The winner BIGTIME EXPLOYER moved in on the first turn and caused jostling to JANE DOE, THRILLING DELTA and DELTA BELLE with BEST TELL PIE and CAWBOURNE LUKEY also suffering checks in the incident.
Race 3	BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C1/2 - 520	ASTROS LUCK and OUR JIGSAW were slow to begin and settled back. ASTROS LUCK was then checked on the first turn and dropped out to finish several lengths last.
Race 4	HEADS ROAD VETERINARY - C4/5 - 305	The winner NOVA KEROMA moved in on the first corner and crowded inside runners with resultant checks to TEDDY TYLER, OPAWA JAZZ, HUGO SIMPSON and REGAL PETE. REGAL PETE fell as a result and suffered bruising and abrasions and was stood down for 7 days. REGAL PETE B.Cole Rule 82 Fell and suffered bruising and abrasions and was stood down for 7 days to and including 17.08.06.
Race 5	THE RADIO WORKS - C4/5 - 520	LADY CHASE and RHANI REASON bumped together for several strides early in the race and settled back. RHANI REASON recovered to finish well for 4th while LADY CHASE tailed the field to the finish. BIGTIME JENNY S.Drysdale Rule 64 Suffering from gastroenteritis, was presented and stood down for 5 days to and including 12.08.06.
Race 6	WANGANUI DISTANCE FINAL - C2df - 755	One of the favourites PRINCE TOSHACK dropped out to last early in the race and did not appear to be striding out correctly and finished in last place. PRINCE TOSHACK was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury at that time.
Race 7	WANGANUI SECURITY - C4 - 520	THRILLING NEWTON ran onto the back of THRILLING BLONDE on the last bend and fell. THRILLING NEWTON was examined by the vet and stood down for 5 days with slight bruising and abrasions. BIGTIME DALLAS L.Ahern Rule 64 Suffering from a bite wound and stood down for 10 days to and including 20.08.06. THRILLING NEWTON W.T.Hodgson Rule 82 Fell and suffered slight grazing and abrasions and stood down for 5 days to and including 15.08.06.
Race 8	VITA-POWER EXCEED - C0df - 645	ROTHVALE REASON jumped out and ARANUI SPEEDY jumped in and ARANUI GOLD and NGALA who were drawn in between were tightened, lost ground and settled at the rear in the early stages but then made up some ground to finish 4th and 5th.
Race 9	RUSH HIRE WANGANUI - C3 - 520	CALL ME CUTE was a late scratching due to lameness detected at kennelling time. The race was all clear. CALL ME CUTE L.Fornasiere Rule 68 A late scratching due to lameness, was presented and stood down for 7 days to and including 17.08.06.
Race 10	MICKEY'S SUPER LIQUOR - C4 - 305	HOMEBUSH DASHER, WHATA SHAME and TRISTAN FLEX bumped together in the race to the first turn and lost ground. The winner HAMMER MY HEART moved out on the bend and checked MICHELAC who lost ground but then recovered to finish on for 3rd place.
