Judicial report: Weather: Fine / Hot Race 5. Prior to this race Trainer M.M.Grant (October Placard) requested that a 'Hard to Box' (Box First) be approved for this greyhound. Following discussion the application was denied pending further assessment by the Stewards and Starter. It was subsequently observed and reported that this greyhound was boxed in the required order without difficulty.

Race 1 ADVANCE PERFORMANCE SPRINT - C3 - 295 The picture quality of this race was sub-standard making the video review extremely difficult. TAB Trackside were advised and technical adjustments made to the transmission. Kola's Weapon was the slowest to begin. Cobbitty Girl ran in sharply shortly after the start and severely checked itself, Yendy's Title and Kola's Weapon. General tightening on the first turn resulted in checks of varying degrees to all runners. Yendy's Title ran outwards on the home turn and inconvenienced Shifnal Chief. Cobbitty Girl was checked slightly in the home straight.
Race 2 SUPERPETS SPRINT - C2 - 295 Role Model was very slow to begin and then raced wide throughout. Homebush Smithy and Homebush Ryan came together for a stride after the start.
Race 3 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C4 - 520 This race started 4 minutes later than scheduled due to a request from TAB Trackside. Jupiter Jazz and Falcon Flex came together shortly after the start with both being checked. Falcon Flex was tightened and checked slightly after 30 mtrs. Jupiter Jazz ran wide on the first turn and hampered Falcon Flex. Homebush Phil (J.T.McInerney). Late scratching. Right triceps bruising. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 23.11.05.
Race 4 DALPONTE VIKINGS STAKES - C2 - 520 Kim's Whisky was slow to begin. Blah Blah was checked after 30 mtrs. Nearing the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to What Ya Know, Kim's Whisky, Holah A Hypo, Blah Blah and Clan Ora. Clan Ora and Kim's Whisky ran wide and covered extra ground on the first bend. Four Way Doll moved outwards across the heels of Sonny Bill Allen on the home turn and severely checked Kakama.
Race 5 2005 GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING GALAXY - C5f - 295 Pappilong ran inwards at the start causing widespread tightening after 20 mtrs which resulted in severe checks to every runner. Jostling and further checks continued to the first turn involving all runners with the exception of Fashion Thief, Candiac Bale and Rudi Jewel.
Race 6 NUTRI-ZING STAKES - C3 - 520 Waxeye and Spring Billeroy were slow to begin. Entering the first turn In Defence and Funny Girl came together for a stride with both being checked. Spring Billeroy ran wide on the first turn. Entering the back straight Powerfast Patch was tightened, checked then ran outwards and checked Spring Billeroy.
Race 7 2005 SOUTHERN TRUST NEW ZEALAND CUP - C5f - 520 Winsome Secret was a late scratching due to being found to be in season when undergoing pre race swabbing procedures. Entering the first turn Big Sam Junior moved inwards which tightened and severely checked Lomu Flex and Charlston Ghost. Anna Lee Whisky, Charlston Ghost and Entrepreneur ran wide on the first bend. Winsome Secret (J & D Fahey). Late scratching. Seasonal condition detected prior to race. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 258.3. 30 days up to and including 09.12.05.
Race 8 CHALLENGE OPAWA DASH - C5 - 295 Whata Town was the slowest to begin. Nearing the first turn general tightening resulted in checks to Shiraz Vine, Delta Belle, Whata Town and King Louis. Exclusive High was checked on the bend.
Race 9 2005 CONTAINERMAN SOCKBURN CUP - C2d - 732 Prince Toshack was slow to begin. Blue Fern was tightened and checked slightly on the first turn. Indicative ran out on the second turn and severely checked Prince Toshack. On the final bend Prince Toshack moved outwards and clipped the heels of My Rocky which was severely checked.
Race 10 DAVE EMERSON CONSULTANCY STAKES - C5 - 520 There was no 'head on' video coverage of this race available from TAB Trackside. Orphan Assassin was very slow to begin then ran very wide on the first turn and covered extra ground. Nearing the back straight Willandra Bale moved outwards and hampered Tokenism slightly.
Race 11 INDEPENDENT CARPETS CRANFORD DOG CLASSIC - R/A - 520 Connect and Greatwhite were the slowest to begin. Cecilia Henry and Homebush Luke jostled for several strides prior to the first turn. Entering the first turn Homebush Luke ran out off the rail clipping the heel of and severely checking Sydney Havoc in the process before continuing outwards and colliding with Connect which was also severely checked. Sydney Havoc then collided with and severely checked Siesmic in the aftermath of this incident.
Race 12 CANTERBURY TELEVISION SHOW DAY SPRINT - C4 - 295 Homebush Dasher and Honky Tonk Lord came together after the start with both being checked.
