Judicial report: Weather: Showery Race 9. The Handler of Campbell Bale was warned by the Kennel Steward under Rule 262.
Due to the absence of Mr A.Booth (Judicial Steward / Committee) this role was undertaken by S.Atkins, W.Steele and L Henley for this race meeting.
Trainers and Handlers are reminded that they must adhere to the applicable Rules relating to reporting on time to get their greyhound out of the Security Kennels and ready for their respective race. Kennel Stewards are being requested to give this requirement close attention and any Trainer or Handler who does not comply after an initial warning will be charged.

Race 1	WAYNES HAMILTON EAST TAB DASH - C2 - 375	Smooth Harry and Ina Tizzy were slow to begin. Junior Time and Ina Tizzy bumped and checked each other after the start. Smooth Harry and Melissa Bale came together on the first turn with the latter being severely checked as the result.
Race 2	TOKOROA NEW WORLD STAKES - C3 - 457	Hostile Arch was scratched due to gaining a start in Race 8. Run To Paradise was scratched due to injury. Mr Blackout moved outwards after the start checking Hostile Reign. Gozo Lina moved outwards nearing the first turn and collided with Bibiana Bale which caused both runners to be severely checked. Hostile Arch (G.A.Lawrence). Gained a start in Race 8. Run To Paradise (D.van Meeuwen). Pad injuries. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 14.01.05.
Race 3	LAMP SPECIALISTS LTD - C1 - 457	Wear The Fern, Thrilling Merc and Champagne Jewel were slow to begin. Wear The Fern and Thrilling Merc bumped each other after 50mtrs. Raise Your Glass drifted on the first turn and was always near the rear after. The Co-trainer B. Craik was questioned regarding this greyhound's performance and his explanation was noted. Time Over Boots was tightened between Rich Fire and Rawhiti Rogue nearing the home turn and lost a length.
Race 4	MIKE RODGER UPHOLSTERY STAKES - C3/4 - 457	No 'head on' video coverage of this race was available from TAB Trackside. Orphan Assassin was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' categorisation and was observed to box without difficulty. Ozzie Rhode drifted badly shortly after the start and only ran on slightly in the home straight. The Trainer A.C.Roberts was questioned regarding this greyhound's performance and his explanation was noted. Burn The Peg and Chopper's Hand lost ground on the first turn with the latter running on strongly in the straight to finish 4th.
Race 5	FOND FOODS SPRINT - C3 - 375	Thrilling Jack and Sand Dancer then Radford Reason and Keenjackaroo came together after the start. Go Faith Go was handy early then slipped and drifted on the first bend and never recovered to finish last. Tarrah the favourite raced very wide throughout covering extra ground and finishing 5th.
Race 6	TE AWAMUTU STORAGE MAIDEN FINAL - C0f - 457	Bevron Road was scratched due to injury. Whata Plan was scratched ex Christchurch GRC 31.12.04- seasonal condition ( therefore not drawn into this Waikato final after qualifying finishing 2nd in heat on 24.12.04). Hove Dale (A.Cleaver) was scratched due to injury.(not drawn into this Waikato final after qualifying finishing 2nd in heat on 24.12.04). Rock It Hound ran inwards at the start checking Baltasar. Rudi Jewel and Stooge jostled from the start to the first turn. Opawa Gas drifted after the start and never improved finishing last. All runners except Ashbourne Boss and Opawa Gas were involved in a chain reaction of interference nearing and on the first turn with several of them being severely checked. Bevron Road (J&D Fahey). Spider bite on off-front foreleg. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 15.01.05. Whata Plan (B.C.Dann) Seasonal. 30 days ex Christchurch GRC 31.12.04. Race 7	T.A.B PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE DASH - C4/5 - 375	More Gold , Jodaman and Bingo Appeal came together nearing the first turn. Le Mans Song moved inwards towards the rail on the first turn checking Wild Seattle which then moved outwards forcing Raheny Reason outwards which in turn severely checked Jodaman and causing More Gold to be hampered.
Race 8	SUPERIOR GREYHOUND FORMULA CLASSIC FINAL - R/Af - 457	Thrilling Steve was scratched due to injury. Light Pockets and Awesome Enforcer were slow with Light Pockets recovering well to finish 4th. Honky Tonk Lord moved outwards on the home turn checking Thrilling May and itself. Thrilling Steve (W.T.Hodgson). Metacarpal pain off-front foreleg. Vet certificate supplied .Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 15.01.05.
Race 9	CAMBRIDGE TAB STAKES - C5 - 457	Catch Me Soon was scratched due to injury. Media Frenzy was scratched due to injury. Greek Grinner was scratched due to injury. Idol Appeal the favourite began well, drifted to last soon after and was hampered slightly by Romberg Reason on the first turn but never improved thereafter finishing last. A Veterinary examination was ordered which detected no injury. Romberg Reason was tightened between Winsome Success and Kane Bale into the first turn, lost ground then ran on strongly out wide to finish 3rd. Catch Me Soon (R.Adcock). Gracilus muscle tear. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 30 days up to and including 03.02.05. Media Frenzy (P&L Henley). Shoulder injury. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 10.01.05. Race 10	ALPHA HOTEL KIHIKIHI STAKES - C2 - 457	Winsome Rush was scratched due to injury. Cybil Defence was scratched due to injury. Four Square missed the start, weaved it's way through the field and ran on strongly for 2nd. Tartare Sauce and Big Teddy Boy jostled prior to the first turn. Black Tibet and Bonnie Creek came together on the first turn. Four Square moved to the rail on the bend tightening and checking Browning Bale. Winsome Rush (B&L Craik). Pad injury.
