Judicial report: Weather: Overcast K.E.Lomas the trainer of Geechie Lobo and Little Toot was advised that both greyhounds will undergo a further 'Hard to Box' reassessment at their next race start and provided there is no deterioration in their boxing manners they will be removed from the 'Hard to Box' categorisation.
Race 6. A Judicial Committee Hearing was opened before the Judicial Chairman (N.McGough) into the performance of Youarda Man which in the opinion of the Stipendiary Steward did not pursue the lure with due commitment at times during the race and in particular on the home turn when this greyhound ran outwards hampering and checking Harmoneyes and Queen Rowley. A charge was laid under Rule 322.1(b). Following discussion and evidence presented by the Stipendiary Steward, Part- Trainer (J.Nixon) and Officiating Veterinary Surgeon (J.Mason), Mr Nixon chose not to defend the charge and therefore it was upheld by the Judicial Committee and Youarda Man was suspended for one month under Rule 322.2(a) and required to complete a Satisfactory Trial under Rule 179.1.
Race 7. A 'Hard to Box' categorisation was granted to Justa Half Pint (K.Braithwaite) after a current reassessment and being observed to be difficult to box again.

Race 1 MANUKAU HURDLE FEATURE - C1/2h - 527 Our Mick was scratched due to injury. Aranui Tui was a late scratching due to a seasonal condition. Ralph jumped the first hurdle awkwardly then fell heavily at the second hurdle but recovered to finish the race. A Veterinary examination was ordered which detected no injury. Miss Cheeky jumped hesitantly throughout. Aranui Tui (M.N.Boyd). Late scratching due seasonal condition. Rule 258. 30 days up to and including 02.02.05. Our Mick (S.Gardner). Wrist injury. Race 2 RAILWAY SPRINT - CONSOLATION - C5 - 318 Jaiden Luke was scratched due to gaining a start in Race 4. Black Allegro was scratched ex AGRC race meeting on 30.12.04. Blue Paragon was scratched ex AGRC race meeting on 30.12.04. Zephyr Zeal was scratched due to injury. Gold Amore and Shar Nazir bumped each other twice between the start and first turn. Shar Nazir clipped the heels of and checked Musical Drama on the bend. Jaiden Luke (S.P.Clark). Gained a start in Race 4. Black Allegro (B.R.D.Cole). Scratched ex AGRC 30.12.04. Blue Paragon (D.van Meeuwen). Scratched ex AGRC 30.12.04. Zephyr Zeal (B.R.D.Cole). Injury to pad, off-side front leg. Vet certificate supplied. Race 3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN NIXON - C0 - 527 Booming Time was slow to begin. Destiny's Run and Johnnies Luck came together after the start. Johnnies Luck and Hurricane Cove bumped each other on the first turn with Johnnies Luck also losing ground when cutting across heels to move to a wider running position. Gentle Lee ran very wide on the bend when racing in 3rd position and lost considerable ground as a result.
Race 4 RAILWAY SPRINT - FINAL - C5f - 318 Stunning Ebony was scratched due to injury. Hailstone Heaven was scratched due to injury. Little Toot was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' categorisation and was observed to box without difficulty. Little Toot ran out on the first turn severely checking Jodaman which almost fell and both runners losing all chance. Arnies First cut across the heels of Gold Strike on the bend and lost 2 lengths. Hailstone Heaven (J.T.McInerney). Right gracilus insertion tear. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 21 days up to and including 23.01.05. Stunning Ebony (B.R.D.Cole). Quadriceps injury to off-hind leg. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 13.01.05. (Trainer to present race record card to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement).
Race 5 LION FOUNDATION AUCKLAND CUP - FINAL - C5f - 527 Willy What, Zippy Star and Romberg Reason were slow to begin. Slender Maree aqnd Catch Me Soon came together after the start. Catch Me Soon tried to move outwards nearing the first turn severely checking Westar Storm, Zippy Star, Slender Maree and Willy What. Catch Me Soon then drifted out of contention to finish a distant 7th. A Veterinary examination was ordered for Catch Me Soon. (No report received). Rialto Reason pulled up injured on the first bend and a Veterinary examination was ordered. (No report received). Willy What ( J & D Fahey). Off-hind pad injury. Rule 329. 10 days up to and including 13.01.05. Rialto Reason ( Vet examination report pending). Catch Me Soon ( Vet examination report pending).
Race 6 TOP NOSH MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C0q - 318 Heat 1 Youarda Man, Gungullin and Harmoneyes were slow to begin. Youarda Man displayed a lack of determination at times during the race and also ran outwards on the home turn inconveniencing Harmoneyes which in turn severely checked Queen Rowley. Youarda Man was considered not to be pursuing the lure with due commitment and following a Veterinary examination which revealed no significant injury, was charged under Rule 322.1(b). Youarda Man (J & L Nixon). Rule 322.1(a). One month up to and including 04.02.05. and Rule 179.1 Satisfactory Trial prior to nomination.
Race 7 TOP NOSH MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C0q - 318 Heat 1 Just Half Pint was observed to be 'Hard to Box' again and following consultation with the trainer K. Braithwaite, this greyhound has been granted 'Hard to Box' status. Hypo Spencer was slow to begin. Bit Of Grit dipped after the start, dropped back quickly and then ran very wide losing considerable ground. Inside Blue and Justa Half Pint came together after 40 mtrs. Joint Loyalty was galloped on from behind and checked by Hypo Spencer nearing the first turn and then drifted out to finish last.
Race 8 COIN CASCADE STAKES - HEAT 1 - C1q - 527 Heat 1 Justa Toff and Tandias Girl were slow to begin. Mo Mistress received a slight check on the first bend and lost a length.
Race 9 TOP NOSH MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C0q - 318 Heat 1 Pepperonni was slow to begin. Hang On Mate missed the jump and lost 4 lengths. Pizza Bad Boy was denied racing room behind Smart Mover and on the inside of Rock It Hound on the bend and lost a length.
Race 10 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS DASH - C1 - 318 Geechie Lobo was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' categorisation and was observed to box without difficulty. Stooge was slow to begin. Miss Jade, Hypo Ponting and Jolly Buffy came together after the start. Geechie Lobo moved outwards across the heels of May Well Be on the first turn which inconvenienced and forced Miss Jade very wide. A Veterinary examination was ordered for Miss Jade which revealed an injury requiring a 14 day stand down from racing. Miss Jade (K.Braithwaite). Off- hind pad injury. Rule 329. 14 days up to and including 17.01.05.
Race 11 COIN CASCADE STAKES - HEAT 2 - C1q - 527 Heat 1 Graphics was scratched due to injury. Duran Duran and Token Sniper were slow to begin. Flash Mistress and Splicklez collided on the first turn with both runners being severely checked. Token Sniper moved outwards on the first turn forcing Duran Duran to cover extra ground. Graphics (S.L.Ross). Soreness pectoral muscle. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 7 days up to and including 09.01.05.
Race 12 COCA-COLA DASH - C3 - 318 Classic Boom was scratched due to injury. Tarrah, Hypoumunga, Just Hasty and Lucky Lipinski all raced in tight quarters 50 mtrs after the start and again on the first turn resulting in all being checked and Just Hasty making contact with the running rail and as a result severely checked Overload and Stock Broker in a chain reaction of interference. Classic Boom (R.Adcock). Lameness. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 31.01.05.( Trainer to present race record to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement).
Race 13 STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C2 - 318 Smooth Harry reared at the start and lost 3 lengths. Goldfinger Jewel was slow to begin. Smooth Harry tried to move off the rail on the first turn which pushed Junior Rhode onto Goldfinger Jewel resulting in all three runners being severely checked.
Race 14 TINT-A-CAR STAKES - C2 - 527 Charmaine Bale and Honky Tonk Lord came together after the start. Cybil Defence, Winsome Rush, Coruba Storm and Rollover Angel were all involved in a bumping duel nearing and on the first turn. Winsome Rush ran wide on the first bend. Coruba Storm cut across the heels of Charmaine Bale nearing the home turn and moved outwards colliding with and severely checking Den Of Fire which rallied well to finish 3rd.
Race 15 LION FOUNDATION AUCKLAND CUP CONSOLATION - C5 - 527 Awesome Cole was slow to begin. Follow Me Frosty and Thrilling Heidi bumped each other on the first turn. Follow Me Frosty moved outwards on the first turn which hampered and kept Awesome Cole wide.
Race 16 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING STAKES - C3 - 527 Rivette Reason and Poco King came together after the start. The favourite Rhani Reason was galloped on from behind by Miss Teddy Bear on the first turn with both runners falling and losing all chance. Rivette Reason was also checked in this incident.
