He then set out after the leader to be second in the running and faded from the home turn finishing 4th after having every chance. S.Mann the trainer's representative on-course was questioned regarding the disappointing performance considering the greyhound's prior race form. Mr Mann stated that he considers the 527mtrs distance to be the maximum of Tippy Soprano's capability at this stage of it's racing career and that he would be looking to secure a race over 375mtrs or 318mtrs for the greyhound's next start. Mr Mann's comments were noted.
Race 5 JO WINTER SPRINT - C2 - 318 This race started 3 minutes late due to lure testing. Poetical drifted on the bend then moved outwards on the home turn causing Monsieur John to be severely checked.

The favourite Parra Power did not perform up to it's previous race start when it won on this track on 24.09.04. G.Farrell, the trainer's representative on-course was questioned regarding tonight's last placing. Mrs Farrell stated that the greyhound's preference is as a front runner (needs to see the lure) and does not perform up to it's best when back in the field or if it does not receive a clear run. This explanation is supported by the previous win at AGRC when the greyhound was in front throughout. Mrs Farrell's explanation was accepted. Bingo Appeal (D.Van Meeuwen). Late scratching. Left front toe infection. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 04.10.04.

Thrilling Sam was slow out then tightened for racing room on the first turn between Dabyne Prince and Rasmah Reason and made up ground strongly to finish 3rd. Dabyne Prince's head went up and jumped awkwardly at the start, was 2nd into first turn but showed little determination after, finishing at the rear.
