Race 1 MAIDEN STAKES - HEAT 1 - C0q - 525 Heat 1 The well supported CONSENT was very slow away and lost any chance of a placing. MANAIA'S MYTH moved across from box 7 and bumped FORREST CANE and LISSADELL ROVER causing them to lose ground. MANAIA'S MYTH then clipped the heels of WHITNEY O'CEIRIN on the first turn and ran wide on the bend. LOCH STRIVEN was stood down for 30 days under Rule 322 (1) (a) after fighting during the race. LOCH STRIVEN. Trainer O.Marron. Rule 322 (1) (a). Fighting during the race and stood down for 30 days to 03.01.04.
Race 2 MAIDEN STAKES - HEAT 2 - C0q - 525 Heat 1 PUZZLING LIGHT was scratched and stood down for 30 days with a toe injury. The first reserve HOMEBUSH FLUR regained the field due to the scratching of PUZZLING LIGHT but when advised of this, the connections of HOMEBUSH FLUR told the Club Secretary that the dog was racing at another meeting on this day. As a result, HOMEBUSH FLUR was scratched and was stood down for 30 days under the provisions of Rule 256 (b). REBEL EDITION, RUBY HALL ,LISSADELL PRINCE and PAREWANUI were all slow to begin and settled well back. LISSADELL PRINCE then checked and stumbled on the first turn and lost further ground. DREAMCHASER was stood down for 30 days under the provisions of Rule 322 (1) (a) after fighting during the race. PUZZLING KNIGHT. Trainer J.Hill. Rule 259. Suffering from a toe injury and stood down for 30 days to 02.01.04. HOMEBUSH FLUR. Trainer J.McInerney. Rule 256 (b) Nominated for two races in the same day. Stood down for 30 days to 04.01.04. Race 3 IMPROVERS SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C1q - 295 Heat 1 BALLYSHANNON was scratched and is now deceased. The eventual winner OUR MICK moved across from the start and crowded UNO IMA REBEL and BRIGHT ECHO for a few strides before clearing those runners. LAST TRAM suffered a slight toe injury and was stood down for 5 days. BALLYSHANNON. Trainer D.Donlon. Now deceased. LAST TRAM. Trainer L.Fornasiere. Rule 329. Suffered a slight toe injury and stood down for 5 days to 09.12.03.
Race 4 MAIDEN STAKES - HEAT 3 - C0q - 525 Heat 1 CLASSY CULLEN was slow to begin and settled well back. He was then pushed wide on the first bend when JESSICA'S GAMBLE was checked and ran out. GIMME ATTITUDE checked off the heels of HOMEBUSH FIN on the first corner and ran out forcing CUTIE'S PRINCE wide on the bend.
Race 5 WELLINGTON DERBY - R/Af - 525 SAVIOLA was scratched due to a sprained tarsus. WINSOME RAIDER started from box 2 but ran out wide on the first corner and covered considerable extra ground. HOMEBUSH BILL and CLYDEBANK jostled together for a few strides on the home turn but were too far back to have there chances affected. SAVIOLA. Trainer O.Marron. Rule 259. Suffering from a sprained tarsus. Stood down for 10 days to 13.12.03.
Race 6 EMPIRE HOTEL - PETONE - C4/5 - 525 TOKEN GENIUS moved in on the first turn after drawing box 8 and this resulted in checks to SIMPLY RED, SOULSTORM and WINSOME VEIN who lost several lengths and all chance.
Race 7 IMPROVERS SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C1 - 295 All clear.
Race 8 WELLINGTON STAYERS CUP - GROUP 2 - C2df - 758 CUTIE'S DIAMOND was scratched Ex Wellington on 18.11.03. SUPER GOLD and NOBLE JEWEL began well but were checked before the first corner with NOBLE JEWEL going back to last. One of the favourites WHITE TOKEN lead in the early and middle stages but tended to race a little wide and covered extra ground. He faded in the straight and finished well back. CUTIE'S DIAMOND. Trainer L.Fornasiere. Ex Wellington on 18.11.03.
Race 9 MUZZY SHIRTS - C2/3 - 525 The well supported WINSOME FANTASY and REDFORD BALE were slow to begin and settled near the rear. There was some tightening on the first corner and MEGA SAKI, REDFORD BALE and BANTAM ROOSTER were the most affected and they went back to the rear.
Race 10 IMPROVERS SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C1q - 295 Heat 1 HOMEBUSH SHADOW moved across from box 8 and tightened several runners with PAWS A MOMENT, CECILIA BRYAN and RIPPA DON being the most affected in the incident.
