Supplementary Report - Southland GRC 19 June

The McInerney kennel advised Stewards that on returning to its home kennels HOMEBUSH GRIMMEN was found to have suffered a gracilis injury and has been sent for a spell in consequence.

Stand downs rescinded:

HOMEBUSH ARI (7) - ran inwards at the start making contact with HOMEBUSH SHADOW and as a result lost ground.
Race 2	mayhounds.org.nz Rehoming Group Stakes - C0 - 520	GOLDSTAR SPENCER (1) - slow to begin. Ran outwards first bend contacting and dictating GOLDSTAR DAVEY wider and onto GOLDSTAR WALKER. GOLDSTAR GLENYS (2) - ran outwards shortly after the start making contact with GOLDSTAR DYNASTY. Contacted losing ground in the back straight when GOLDSTAR SPENCER ran inwards. GOLDSTAR DYNASTY (3) - contacted shortly after the start. GOLDSTAR DAVEY (4) - slow to begin. Contacted and dictated wider on the first bend losing momentum and dropping out to a clear last. LIBELLE (5) - ran outwards shortly after the start making contact with GOLDSTAR WALKER. Raced wide back straight and final straight. GOLDSTAR HOPE (6) - slow to begin losing all chances. GOLDSTAR WALKER (8) - contacted shortly after the start. Dictated wider first bend.
Race 3	Balcairn Stockfoods & CopRice Dog Food PBD Dash - C1 - 295	REPLICA RULER (4) - contacted shortly after the start when IMPRESSIVE CHARM was dictated inwards when HOMEBUSH ALTENA ran inwards. Raced wide final straight. IMPRESSIVE CHARM (5) - made contact with REPLICA RULER shortly after the start. Placed in restricted room losing ground when REPLICA RULER ran outwards on the bend. KNOW BEAST (7) - slow to begin. BOOTSTRAP BILL (8) - slow to begin.
Race 4	Camside Stud Stakes - C1 - 520	MRS CHINN (2) - crowded shortly after the start losing ground when OPAWA DAISY ran inwards, then had to check off heels shifting out making contact with OPAWA EMMA which was crowded losing ground. OPAWA EMMA (4) - contacted and crowded losing ground shortly after the start. LOCKY BALBOA (7) - ran inwards shortly after the start dictating TOMFOOLERY inwards and onto OPAWA EMMA. Became awkwardly placed on the heels of MRS CHINN which briefly shifted out on the first bend with LOCKY BALBOA losing ground. SMASH DEVIL (8) - raced wide throughout.
Race 5	Happy Birthday Stephen Hurd PBD Sprint - C1 - 295	KNOCKA KNOW HOW (2) - slow to begin. Raced wide final bend. HOMEBUSH SAINT (3) - placed in restricted room losing ground on the bend when runners to the outside shifted in. HOMEBUSH CRYSTAL (5) - crowded and checked losing ground and was then obliged to race wide on the bend. Raced wide final straight. Underwent a veterinary post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. HOMEBUSH NOAH (6) - contacted shortly after the start when UPSURGE ran inwards. UPSURGE (8) - Ran inwards on the bend contacting HOMEBUSH NOAH which was then forced onto HOMEBUSH CRYSTAL which was crowded and checked losing ground.
Race 6	Springston Hotel Stakes - C1 - 520	OPAWA NEVILLE (R Wales) was a late scratching on retrieval from the kennels when found to have a high temperature. PHANTOM ACE (2) - slow to begin. Shifted out across the heels of WANDERING STAR which was contacted with PHANTOM ACE losing ground. WANDERING STAR (3) - contacted first bend. Raced wide back straight and into the final bend. OPAWA RYDER (7) - slow to begin. MEATLOAF (8) - slow to begin.
Race 7	Steve Anngow Drapes & Blinds Ph0272719588 PBD Dash - C1 - 295	ROWDY ESMAY (2) - slow to begin losing all chance. Raced wide final straight. HOMEBUSH TAILS (3) - slow to begin. MAISEY (5) - placed in restricted room losing ground when EZRA BLUEBLOOD ran inwards on the bend. OPTIONAL EXTRA (8) - slow to begin. Raced wide on the bend and throughout the final straight.
Race 8	Happy Birthday Janine McCook Stakes - C1 - 520	CAPTAIN TIM (3) - shifted out across heels on the first bend making contact and dictating REPLICA REBEL wider on the track. Raced wide back straight. REPLICA REBEL (6) - contacted at the start. Ran outwards early on the first bend crowding CALL THE TUNE and forced INFINITY ONE wider on the track with both runners losing ground. Contacted and dictated wider on the bend. CALL THE TUNE (7) - shifted in at the start making contact with REPLICA REBEL. Crowded losing ground early on the first bend. INFINITY ONE (8) - slow to begin. Forced wider losing ground early on the first bend.
Race 9	Sandridge Hotel Stakes - C2 - 520	CENTURION (1) - placed in restricted room having to shift out across the heels of QUETZAL BALE which ran inwards on the final bend. OPAWA BARREL (4) - raced wide back straight. HOMEBUSH RANGER (6) - crowded losing ground when runners to either side shifted ground approaching the first bend. PALESA BALE (8) - raced wide first bend. Improved onto heels having to shift out on the final bend and was the obliged to race wide throughout the final straight.
Race 10	Dave Robbie Photographer Dash - C2 - 295	SOZIN'S PRINCESS (1) - slow to begin. GOLDSTAR SMILES (2) - hampered on the bend. IMPRESSIVE MARIO (3) - hampered losing considerable ground on the bend. EL PADRINO (4) - slow to begin. On the bend improved into a marginal run to the inside of GOLDSTAR SMILES making contact with the running rail becoming briefly unbalanced and shifting out hampering and crowding outside runners. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which did not reveal any abnormalities. GOLDSTAR JUBILEE (5) - crowded losing ground when runners to either side shifted ground approaching the bend. ANGRY PETE (6) - hampered losing considerable ground on the bend. OPAWA JAWS (8) - slow to begin. Hampered losing ground on the bend.
Race 11	Racing Again Thursday 23 June Dash - C2 - 295	CULVIE DOLE (1) - shifted out across heels on the bend dictating HOMEBUSH CARDI over extra ground. Raced wide final straight HOMEBUSH CARDI (3) - dictated over extra ground losing all chance on the bend. MITCHAM GINNY (4) - crowded losing ground shortly after the start when HOMEBUSH ABBY ran inwards. HOMEBUSH ABBY (5) - placed in restricted room losing ground when outside runners shifted inwards on the bend. GOLDSTAR TOMMY (6) - slow to begin. Raced wide on the bend.
Race 12	Rose & Thistle Sprint - C2 - 295	REDDY MOTH (1) - on the bend shifted out across the heels of MITCHAM KING and when doing so made heavy contact with AMURI JET with REDDY MOTH becoming unbalanced and faltered, losing all chance. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a fractured right hock with a 90 day stand down recommended. Must complete a satisfactory injury trial prior to resuming. BRYLEIGH BEE (4) - crowded shortly after the start losing ground when MISS MADRID ran inwards. Shifted out across the heels of AMURI JET approaching the final straight and was then obliged to race wide. GOLDSTAR MAUNEY (6) - crowded losing ground when outside runners shifted in shortly after the start. AMURI JET (8) - contacted on the bend. MISS MADRID (9/5) - blundered shortly after the start.
