1) Stewards have concluded their investigation into the nomination and subsequent late scratching of OPAWA NUT (B Dann) from this meeting. After taking into account evidence from Mr. Dann along with detailed information from GRNZ's website provider it was established the Greyhound had been correctly nominated by Mr. Dann. Mr. Dann, pursuant with the provisions of Rule 44.1, failed to present OPAWA NUT to the track requiring him to be late scratched and denying a reserve Greyhound a start. Mr. Dann was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $300.

General:

1) Selected greyhounds competing in solo training trials were required to provide a sample of urine for the purpose of out of competition testing.

Late Scratchings:

1) SMASH GRENADE (M Grant) - race 10.

Warnings:

1) D Roberts was issued with a warning for failing to catch a runner in race 7 as arranged.

SMASH DEVIL (6) - slow away. Awkwardly placed entering the bend needing to switch across heels to gain clear racing room, then bumped shortly thereafter. Coursed wide entering the home straight. TOBY'S CHOICE (8) - contacted from behind entering the bend, losing ground as a result. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. LONELY GEMMA (10/3) - bumped shortly after the start. Tightened entering the bend losing some ground.
Race 2	Dave Robbie Photographer Dash - C2 - 295	GOLDSTAR DARWIN (1) - inconvenienced entering the bend losing some momentum. DAISY BEE (2) - tightened at the start, becoming very unbalanced and losing ground. Tightened again shortly after the start and nearing the home straight needing to switch across heels to gain clear racing room on both occasions. Coursed wide entering the home straight. SIDELINE SALLY (4) - tightened DAISY BEE at the start when angling towards the rail. Tightened nearing the bend, then checked from behind, losing ground, inconveniencing trailing runners. Checked, sharply, across heels entering the home straight. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. KING KALI (6) - went up with the lids, then angled towards the rail. Inconvenienced entering the bend. Contacted HOMEBUSH ABBY from behind when attempting to improve to the inside of that runner nearing the home straight. OPAWA RAINBOW (7) - slow away. Tightened DAISY BEE shortly after the start and again nearing the home straight. HOMEBUSH ABBY (8) - boxed first. Tightened SIDELINE SALLY nearing the bend. Contacted from behind nearing the home straight.
Race 3	mayhounds.org.nz Rehoming Group Dash - C2 - 295	REGAL JOCK (2) - bumped GOLDSTAR BRYNLEY shortly after the start. HOMEBUSH CARDI (3) - contacted from behind nearing the home straight becoming slightly unbalanced and losing some momentum as a result. Bumped nearing the winning post. GOLDSTAR BRYNLEY (4) - bumped shortly after the start and again nearing the bend. Coursed wide entering the home straight. FREE FOR ALL (6) - bumped GOLDSTAR BRYNLEY shortly after the start and again nearing the bend. Contacted HOMEBUSH CARDI nearing the home straight when improving to the inside of that runner. HENDRIX BALE (7) - began awkwardly. Switched across heels shortly after entering the home straight when placed in restricted room. Bumped HOMEBUSH CARDI nearing the winning post. KNOW HINDER (8) - slow away. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 4	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Sprint - C2 - 295	DOUBLE QUEENIE (3) - bumped shortly after the start, in turn bumped YANIRA BALE. Buffeted and dictated inwards nearing the bend contacting SINHA MAN, and losing ground as a result. YANIRA BALE (4) - bumped shortly after the start. Buffeted DOUBLE QUEENIE nearing the bend, dictating that runner inwards. FIREBALL FUDGE (5) - coursed wide through the bend. KNOW NUGGET (6) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend becoming slightly unbalanced and losing ground. HOMEBUSH SPARKLE (8) - coursed wide entering the home straight. SINHA MAN (9/2) - bumped DOUBLE QUEENIE shortly after the start. Contacted nearing the bend.
Race 5	Steve Anngow Drapes & Blinds Ph.0272719588 Stakes - C0 - 520	GOOFY ADOBE (1) - began awkwardly. Coursed wide entering the home straight. LIBELLE (3) - began very awkwardly settling at the rear of the field and unable to get into contention thereafter. OPAWA WARRIOR (4) - raced wide through the back straight. MEGA FUN (5) - slow away. NIGHTHAWK NOISE (7) - slow away.
Race 6	Clarkson Sign Studio Dash - C2 - 295	ADOBE DERULO (4) - coursed wide entering the home straight. HOMEBUSH POPPY (5) - raced wide through the back and home straights. ANGRY PETE (6) - heavily contacted at the start appearing to become awkward in his action entering the bend. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. GOLDSTAR WYNTER (7) - tightened and dictated inwards at the start, heavily contacting ANGRY PETE in the process. HOMEBUSH GRIMMEN (8) - tightened GOLDSTAR WYNTER at the start.
Race 7	O'Shea's Public House Stakes - C3/4 - 520	ADOBE BRO (1) - received slight contact from behind shortly after the start becoming momentarily unbalanced and losing some ground. Raced wide through the back and home straights. GO JOHNNY GO (2) - contacted ADOBE BRO from behind shortly after the start. Brushed LONGSHANKS entering the first bend. Moved up the track to race wide through the first bend and early in the back straight. LONGSHANKS (3) - brushed GO JOHNNY GO entering the first bend, becoming slightly unbalanced and moving up the track. Raced wide through the back straight. SPEEDY SUE (7) - bumped at the start. BEST BALL (8) - bumped SPEEDY SUE at the start.
Race 8	American Warrior @ Stud Dash - C2 - 295	GOLDSTAR SMILES (2) - bumped, then tightened entering the bend. Coursed wide entering the home straight. HOMEBUSH RANGER (3) - bumped at the start. KNOW MAJORITY (4) - bumped HOMEBUSH RANGER at the start. Jostled with HOMEBUSH GEORGE for a distance through the back straight. GINGER SHAW (5) - bumped, then tightened GOLDSTAR SMILES entering the bend. HOMEBUSH GEORGE (6) - began awkwardly. Jostled with KNOW MAJORITY for a distance through the back straight, eventually becoming unbalanced and stumbling losing ground. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. SMASH DRAGON (8) - slow away. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Raced wide through the home straight.
Race 9	Garrard's Horse & Hound Stakes - C2 - 520	QUETZAL BALE (1) - slight contact entering the first bend, then brushed ICED MOCHA. OPAWA DUCHESS (3) - placed in restricted room entering the first bend, then dictated wide on the point of the first bend losing some momentum. Raced wide through the back straight. LIGHTFOOT LUNA (4) - tightened entering the first bend becoming unbalanced contacting MELVILLE BALE then dictating OPAWA DUCHESS wider on the point of the first bend. Raced wide through the back straight. ICED MOCHA (5) - contacted QUETZAL BALE entering the first bend when in restricted room, then brushed that runner. NEED PROOF (7) - tightened LIGHTFOOT LUNA, then placed ICED MOCHA in restricted room entering the first bend. MELVILLE BALE (8) - contacted entering the first bend. HUMBLING (9/6) - raced wide at various stages.
Race 10	Camside Stud Sprint - C2 - 295	SMASH GRENADE was a late scratching at kenneling with a crack in its pad. GOLDSTAR RICKY (1) - boxed first. Went up with the lids and settled at the rear of the field. Improved wide through the bend, then inconvenienced entering the home straight losing ground again. ST ANDREWS (2) - tightened entering the bend, and again on the point of the bend becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Coursed wide entering the home straight checking IMPRESSIVE ISLA. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. MISS JUNE (4) - tightened ST ANDREWS entering the bend. GOLDSTAR MAUNEY (5) - began awkwardly. Awkwardly placed behind runners entering the bend, losing some momentum. AMURI SPOT (6) - tightened ST ANDREWS on the point of the bend. LITTLE NOSEY (7) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend. IMPRESSIVE ISLA (8) - checked and dragged entering the home straight when racing wide. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury.
Race 11	Springston Hotel Dash - C3 - 295	REBEL BOOM (2) - slightly awkward off the mats. ROWDY'S MESSAGE (4) - bumped shortly after the start, then contacted IT'S BETTER. Improved onto heels entering the bend, then needed to switch wide to gain clear racing room, losing some momentum in the process. SOUFFLE SUE (5) - tightened shortly after the start, in turn bumped ROWDY'S MESSAGE and lost ground. TAIERI TAYLEE (6) - tightened SOUFFLE SUE shortly after the start, then bumped. ROSE THORN (7) - bumped TAIERI TAYLEE shortly after the start. Tightened entering the bend losing ground. THUNDER HALLOWS (8) - tightened ROSE THORN entering the bend. Contacted from behind entering the home straight, losing ground. BILLY RAY (5) - squeezed runners to its inside nearing the bend, then unbalanced losing ground. SMASH SHADOW (6) - bumped shortly after the start. AMURI EARLY (7) - bumped SMASH SHADOW shortly after the start. Raced wide through the bend.
