1). Trainer E Potts has reported her greyhound 'THRILLING BRUCE' had sprained its right hock at this meeting necessitating its scratching from todays meeting.

General:

1). GO AHEAD CALLER (T & L Craik) was pre trial swabbed prior to competing in its qualifying trial.

2). All greyhounds accepted into the Auckland Cup and Railway Sprint final were all required to provide samples of urine during the week for the purpose of testing for Permanently Banned Prohibited Substances.

3). Stewards conducted checks on vehicles used for the purpose of transporting greyhounds to and from the race meeting today with compliance orders issued to several trainers

1) THRILLING PEGGY (E Potts) - stood down pending a satisfactory solo injury trial.

ALWAYS DREAMING (8) - placed in restricted room rounding the bend losing momentum.
Race 2	Hewlett Electrical Sprint - C4 - 318	MADE THE CUT (1) - shouldered with BIG TIME JEWEL early stages. Hindquarters raced on exiting the bend. BIG TIME JEWEL (2) - shouldered with MADE THE CUT early stages. Placed in restricted room entering the bend before becoming awkwardly placed on heels having to check. IT'S A LAUGH (5) - hindquarters contacted from the outside by BIG TIME REBEL in the run to the bend. Dictated down onto the heels of EXPRESS EMPORIUM entering the bend losing ground. Obligated to check off heels exiting the bend. PREROGATIVE (6) - awkwardly placed to the outside of BIG TIME REBEL approaching the bend BIG TIME REBEL (7) - shifted inwards off heels in the run to the bend colliding with the hindquarters of IT'S A LAUGH. Raced in restricted room approaching the bend. Raced on the hindquarters of MADE TEH CUT exiting the bend. EXPRESS EMPORIUM (9/4) - heels clipped entering the bend.
Race 3	Misty Anna Trophy - INV - 527	THRILLING NEVE (5) - crowded the racing line of PORTLAND DREAM entering the first bend. Bumped up the track soon after onto the hindquarters of BIG TIME MAPLE. BIG TIME BRIE (6) - placed in tight quarters rounding the bend being obligated to check off heels. BIG TIME MAPLE (7) - placed in restricted room briefly entering the first bend. Hindquarters contacted rounding the first bend. ZIPPING BARTY (8) - awkwardly placed to he outside of runners entering the first bend. PORTLAND DREAM (9/4) - slow early. Crowded for racing room entering the first bend.
Race 4	Sports Bowl Function Centre Series Final - C3f - 318	NOISE MAKER (1) - placed in restricted room and had to check losing all momentum in the run to the bend. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. PORTLAND BERRY (2) - placed in tight quarters in the run to the bend. MEDUSA WHO (3) - jostled with BELMONTS early stages. Placed in restricted room in the run to the bend. BELMONTS (4) - jostled with MEDUSA WHO early stages. placed in restricted room and down onto this runner in the run to the bend. Crowded rounding the bend. KELLY'S GIRL (5) - shifted down the track in the run to the bend forcing BELOMNTS down onto inside runners. Crowded and had to check rounding the bend causing a check to BELMONTS as a consequence. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. PRIDEFUL (6) - shouldered briefly with ROD'S GIRL entering the bend. FERNANDO CHARM (7) - crowded the running of KELLY'S GIRL rounding the bend. ROD'S GIRL (8) - shouldered briefly with PRIDEFUL entering the bend.
Race 5	Invitation Stakes - INV - 527	BRONSKI BEAT (1) - slow to jump. ZIPPING HEWITT (5) - hindquarters raced through the early stages of the run home by UTHOR BALE. BIG TIME PLUTO (6) - jostled with JILLIBY LITSA in the run to the first bend. Squeezed for racing room rounding the first bend. UTHOR BALE (7) - slow early. Checked outwards off the heels of ZIPPING HEWITT exiting the final bend for racing on the hindquarters of this runner through the early stages of the run home. JILLIBY LITSA (8) - jostled with BIG TIME PLUTO in the run to the first bend.
Race 6	Auckland Stayers Cup - INVdf - 779	BAD BRO BAD (1) - crowded from the outside in the run to the first bend by LITTLE TEEGS before being obligated to check off this runners heels. THRILLING AMELIA (2) - placed in restricted room approaching the first turn after jostling with STUDENT LOAN. LITTLE TEEGS (4) - contacted from the outside on jumping by SHAYNEE. Crowded the running line of BAD BRO BAD in the run to the first turn. Weakened concluding stages. SHAYNEE (5) - came down the track on jumping colliding with LITTLE TEEGS. STUDENT LOAN (8) - jostled with THRILLING AMELIA approaching the first turn. Lost ground with the field through the middle stages. Referred to the veterinarian and cleared of injury. Stewards questioned co-trainer D Fahey regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of his greyhound. Mr Fahey could offer no explanation other than it being the greyhounds first race on the track.
Race 7	Carol's TAB Taipa Tavern Stakes - C3 - 527	JILLIBY JAC (3) - shifted up the track colliding with OPAWA RAINBOW early stages placing this runner in restricted room. Checked entering the first bend. OPAWA RAINBOW (4) - placed in restricted room early stages. Squeezed and placed on heels rounding the first bend. ISN'T SHE BLISS (5) - shifted down the track early stages placing OPAWA RAINBOW in restricted room. KNOW GRIZZLES (6) - checked entering the first bend. BEAU BEAU (8) - shifted down across runners early stages.
Race 8	Auckland Cup Final - C5f - 527	DRINK SHOEYS (1) - placed in tight quarters entering the first bend having to check outwards colliding with LEONARD BALE as a consequence. Crowded for racing room rounding the first bend losing momentum. LA ROCHELLE (2) - checked approaching the first bend when racing to the inside of LEONARD BALE. OPAWA TRAVIS (3) - slow early before racing on the hindquarters of RIVALRIES in the run to the first bend. RIVALRIES (4) - hindquarters raced on in the run to the first bend by OPAWA TRAVIS. Dictated up the track entering the first bend. ZIPPING SHELDON (5) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the first bend shifting off heels. Held up final bend checking off heels. LEONARD BALE (6) - placed in restricted room approaching the first bend having to check off heels as a consequence. Contacted entering the first bend from the inside by DRINK SHOEYS. Crowded this runner rounding the first bend. Weakened final bend. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of any abnormalities. KNOW KEEPER (7) - slow early. SPORTS MODE (3) - shifted off heels exiting the bend. BIG TIME JONIE (4) - came up with the lid settling last. Dictated wide exiting the bend. THRILLING PEGGY (3) - shouldered with JUST AS MUCH entering the bend before being crowded and losing ground. Awkwardly positioned on heels rounding the bend. Faltered in the run to the lure. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have fractured its right hock. Must trial prior to resuming. TROUSSEAU (4) - crowded THRILLING PEGGY entering the bend. Race 12	Invitation Sprint - INV - 318	PORTLAND ECKLUND (2) - Inconvieanced rounding the bend hen racing to the inside of BIG TIME FUZZ. BIG TIME FUZZ (4) - hindquarters raced on entering the bend. Lost momentum when positioned to the outside of PORTLAND ECKLUND rounding the bend. BIG TIME FROSTY (5) - lost momentum when positioned on heels entering the bend. BIG TIME MILO (6) - slow early. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend. WILD KIWI (7) - raced on the hindquarters of PORTLAND BLONDE approaching the bend before being placed in restricted room having to check. PORTLAND BLONDE (8) - hindquarters raced on approaching the bend when shifting down the track. Continued to shift down the track racing on the hindquarters of BIG TIME FUZZ.
