Christchurch GRC - 28th January 2021.

1). Trainer A Roberts made application for his Greyhound UTHOR BALE to be further examined after being stood down with Kennel Cough at the above said meeting in order to have the prohibition imposed cancelled. The Veterinary examination indicated continued clinical symptoms of Kennel Cough with the prohibition imposed standing.

Late Scratching:

1) YOEL BALE(A Roberts) - was a late scratching from race 4.

Warnings:

1) Trainer J Lane was issued a caution for the manner in which he addressed Stewards following the running of race 9.

Stand Down:

1) MEPUNGA WONDER (M Roberts) - stood down for 12 months and pending a satisfactory trial for Marring in race 12.

Adjourned Matters:

1). Stewards will speak to Trainer C Weir regarding his non catching of LA ROCHELLE in race 9 as arranged.

Lost ground when crowded for racing room entering the bend causing an inconvenience to KNOW NUGGET. KNOW NUGGET (5) - checked entering the bend. GARY (7) - awkwardly placed entering the bend. MULBERRY ROCK (8) - boxed first. Slow early.
Race 2	Active Electrical Christchurch Feature - C2 - 520	LETHAL LETTIE (3) - turned inwards prior to the first bend after having its hindquarters raced on by GO BRO. Hindquarters again raced on rounding the first bend. Coursed wide back straight. GOLDSTAR SPOOK (5) - collided with GO BRO on jumping. Squeezed for racing room soon after losing momentum. Checked outwards off heels rounding the first bend. DUBLIN EXPRESS (6) - raced on the shoulder of GO BRO prior to the first bend forcing this greyhound down onto LETHAL LETTIE. GOLDSTAR ALASKA (9/1) - obligated to check off heels prior to the first bend. GO BRO (10/4) - collided with GOLDSTAR SPOOK on jumping. Dictated down onto the hindquarters of LETHAL LETTIE prior to the first bend losing ground in consequence. Again raced on this greyhounds hindquarters rounding the first bend. Weakened final bend. Veterinary examination clear with Kennel representative B Cole advising the greyhound would derive benefit from the outing being its first race on the track. performance noted.
Race 3	Kolorful Kanvas Feature - R/A - 520	NIGHTHAWK FRENZY (1) - shouldered briefly with OPAWA NIGEL rounding the first bend. Shifted up the track in the run to the finish line. HUMBLING (3) - shouldered briefly with REGAL VALIANT on jumping. Awkwardly placed on heels prior to the first bend before racing on the hindquarters of REGAL VALIANT when rounding the first bend. REGAL VALIANT (4) - shouldered briefly with HUMBLING on jumping. Hindquarters raced on first bend. OPAWA NIGEL (6) - lost momentum when awkwardly positioned to the outside of NIGHTHAWK FRENZY rounding the first bend. TROUBLESOME KEV (8) - obliged to shift across heels in the run to the finish line.
Race 4	Garrard's Horse And Hound Feature - C3 - 520	AMURI MYSTIC (4) - crowded and obligated to check off heels entering the first bend. SAILOR ALLEN (5) - shifted off heels exiting the final bend.
Race 5	Thursday Place Pick NZ Bred Feature - C1/5 - 520	KNOW THREAT (3) - hindquarters clipped in the run to the first bend. Lost momentum when placed on heels prior to the first bend. Placed on heels back straight. HOLY GRAIL (4) - raced on the hindquarters of KNOW THREAT in the run to the bend. BIG TIME BRIE (5) - dictated wide back straight. Weakened late. Subjected to a precautionary Veterinary examination and cleared. OZZIE (6) - crowded BIG TIME ELSA early stages. Shifted up the track back straight dictating BIG TIME BRIE up the track. BIG TIME ELSA (7) - squeezed for racing room early stages. OPAWA DEAL (8) - crowded BIG TIME ELSA early stages.
Race 6	Zambora Brockie @ Stud Distance Feature - C2d - 645	HOMEBUSH FONZIE (3) - boxed first. Collided with BLACK STOCKINGS early stages. Placed in tight quarters first turn. BLACK STOCKINGS (4) - collided with HOMEBUSH FONZIE early stages. Placed in tight quarters first turn. GOLDSTAR SYDNEY (6) - placed in tight quarters first turn. MR BLACKJACK (7) - awkwardly placed to the outside of runners first turn losing ground.
Race 7	Hart Family Greyhound Racing Feature - C4 - 520	MEATLOAF (2) - clipped the heels of PRETTY BUSY exiting the bend. BIG TIME TOMMEY (4) - awkwardly positioned on heels in the run to the first bend losing momentum. START THE SHOW (6) - crowded for racing room early stages losing ground. HOMEBUSH STASSER (7) - crowded for racing room early stages. Climbed on heels entering the first bend. GOLDSTAR YANKEE (8) - shifted down the track early stages crowding inside greyhounds. Race 8	Selwyn-Rakaia Vet Services Feature - C5 - 520	PEARLS ARE US (1) - raced on the hindquarters of BIG TIME VEGAS down the back straight. FEDERAL MORGAN (2) - clipped the heels of LEONARD BALE entering the first bend. BIG TIME PLUTO (3) - jostled with OSTER BALE in the run to the first bend. Crowded for racing room entering the first bend losing ground and shifting up the track inconveniencing SEDUCTIVE KIWI. Collided with this bitch shortly afterwards when avoiding heels. OSTER BALE (5) - jostled with BIG TIME PLUTO in the run to the first bend. Slightly turned outwards entering the first bend when crowding BIG TIME PLUTO. LEONARD BALE (6) - heels clipped entering the first bend. BIG TIME VEGAS (7) - hindquarters raced on down the back straight. Subjected to a Veterinary examination where it was reported to have sustained a fracture toe on its right hind foot. SEDUCTIVE KIWI (8) - dictated wide first bend before colliding with BIG TIME PLUTO.

Race 10	Springton Hotel Harding Cup - C5f - 295	OPAWA BAILEY (1) - crowded for racing room entering the bend losing ground. Checked from behind rounding the bend losing further ground. GOLDSTAR CLOVER (3) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend sifting up the track and dictating TUCKER wide. SONJA (4) - checked off heels rounding the bend colliding with ROMEO. ROMEO (5) - boxed first. Checked rounding the bend being turned in consequence. HOMEBUSH MONKEY (7) - came up with the lid being slow through the early stages as a consequence. Raced in restricted room rounding the bend. TUCKER (8) - dictated wide entering the bend losing ground.
Race 11	Suck It Up Ltd Sockburn Cup - C2d - 732	GOLDSTAR TRUMAN (2) - slow early stages. Checked off heels first bend. SHAYNEE (4) - checked from behind entering the third bend. GEM (6) - hindquarters raced on prior to the first bend. Checked off heels entering the third bend losing balance and coursing wide. GOLDSTAR TUDOR (7) - slow early stages. Raced on the hindquarters of GEM prior to the first bend. Checked off heels exiting the final bend.
Race 12	Christchurch Casino Feature - C5 - 295	BIG TIME JONIE (1) - began awkwardly. Shouldered with KING TOLIMAN prior to the bend. Heavily contacted from the inside when being marred by MEPUNGA WONDER exiting the bend contacting DOUBLE SPEED. Referred to the Veterinarian as a consequence and cleared of injury. KING TOLIMAN (2) - shouldered with BIG TIME JONIE prior to the bend while being placed in restricted room and losing ground. OAKMONT (3) - squeezed for racing room entering the bend losing ground. MITCHAM MAGIC (4) - awkwardly positioned between runners entering the bend. BOLTY (5) - placed in restricted room in the run to the bend turning TROJAN HOARSE outwards as a consequence. Continued to race in restricted room leading up to the bend before racing on the hindquarters of TROJAN HOARSE. TROJAN HOARSE (6) - crowded the racing room of BOLTY in the run to the bend being turned outwards as a consequence. Hindquarters raced on rounding the bend when crowding BOLTY. DOUBLE SPEED (7) - coursed wide in the run to the bend before being checked exiting the bend. MEPUNGA WONDER (8) - slow through the initial stages. Turned its head outwards exiting the bend making heavy head contact with BIG TIME JONIE becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Stood down for Marring.
