Judicial report: This meeting was closed to public due to Government restrictions surrounding Covid - 19 and was run under Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid - 19 protocols for Level 2.

Southland GRC - 3rd September 2020

1). Trainer R Breen has notified Stewards that his greyhound 'MR KUMAR' had pulled up lame following its engagement and had been diagnosed with a stress fracture to its right tibula.

2). Trainer B Conner has informed Stewards that TEE AN' CEE had returned to his kennels showing signs of wrist soreness which he believed had effected the greyhounds ability to finish the race off as competitive as he had anticipated. Mr Conner further advised that he had treated the greyhound for this ailment and would be strapping the wrists of TEE AN' CEE for today's engagement.

Warnings:

1). M Roberts - failing to appear at the kennels at the appointed time to retrieve ADOBE SPINNER for race 5

Awkwardly placed on heels rounding the bend.
Race 3	www.greyhoundauctions.co.nz - C1 - 390	JUST STAGGER (1) - awkwardly positioned on heels and had to check when racing round the bend. SOZIN'S AZURE (2) - began awkwardly. Climbed on heels entering the bend losing ground. MIKIL (3) - heels clipped in the run to the bend. TIDAL TAPESTRY (4) - clipped heels in the run to the bend. OPAWA VIOLET (6) - jostled with DONALBAIN early stages. Squeezed for racing room entering the bend. DONALBAIN (7) - jostled with OPAWA VIOLET early stages. ZOLA BLACK (9/5) - dragged down entering the bend losing ground. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury.
Race 4	[email protected] - C1 - 457	BALDRICK (1) - boxed first. MISS NINA (2) - shouldered with NIGHTHAWK FANCY early stages. Inconvenienced entering the bend losing momentum. SPEEDY LUCY (3) - slow to jump. NIGHTHAWK FANCY (4) - placed in restricted room between runners early stages. Placed on heels and lost ground entering the bend. NIGHTHAWK THORN (5) - collided with HOMEBUSH CARTER in the early stages before shouldering with NIGHTHAWK FANCY. HOMEBUSH CARTER (7) - boxed first. Collided with HIGHTHAWK THORN in the early stages.
Race 5	Dave Robbie Photographer Stakes - C1 - 390	WHITMAN (1) - lost ground when awkwardly positioned on heels entering the bend. HOMEBUSH HOTSHOT (2) - hind quarters contacted in the run to the bend. KIPJO (3) - made contact with the hind quarters of HOMEBUSH HOTSHOT in the run to the bend. ADOBE SPINNER (4) - placed in restricted room entering the bend. DOUBLE QUEENIE (5) - shifted off heels exiting the bend. SOUTHERN PHOENIX (6) - shifted down the track abruptly on jumping. PITCH MARK (7) - coursed wide in the run to the bend. PASCALE JEWEL (8) - coursed wide in the run to the bend.
Race 6	TOP CLASS RUN - C5 - 457	DOUBLE SPEED (1) - shouldered with GARY prior to the bend. Shifted down the track in the run to the line. OPAWA VINNY (2) - slow through the early stages. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend and had to steady. GARY (4) - shouldered with DOUBLE SPEED prior to the bend. VOLCANIC WHISPER (5) - forced down the track in the run to the line. PEPPER CHIMES (8) - coursed wide throughout the run to the bend.

NIGHTHAWK WISH (5) - slow to jump settling last. OPAWA NIGEL (6) - placed on heels rounding the bend. ADOBE TURTLE (9/8) - became awkwardly placed on the hind quarters of OPAWA RUBY entering the bend losing ground.
Race 8	TONI@BODYAUDITSOUTH PH021657001 - C1 - 457	Due to inclement weather the head on camera failed to provide a clear image. FROZEN PARADISE (1) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend having to steady. C'MON BENNY BOY (7) - checked off heels on jumping. Inconvenienced entering the bend. TOBY'S CHOICE (9/5) - placed in restricted room entering the bend losing ground.
Race 9	Oreti Beach Run - C1 - 457	CLAWS IN LEO (1) - contacted from the inside in the run to the bend losing its footing. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a bruised scpula. OPAWA GYPSY (2) - awkwardly positioned to the inside of OPAWA ROWDY entering the bend. AUTO SPEED (3) - contacted from the outside by REGAL VALIANT early stages. Jostled with this runner for a brief period in the run to the bend before being placed in restricted room losing its footing and ground. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. REGAL VALIANT (4) - collided with AUTO SPEED early stages. Jostled with this runner for a brief period in the run to the bend losing ground. OPAWA ROWDY (5) - placed in restricted room entering the bend losing ground.
Race 10	Mr Whippy Southland - C4/5 - 390	TUCKER (1) - squeezed and obliged to check entering the bend losing momentum. SOZIN'S EMPIRE (3) - jostled with HOMEBUSH CAESAR in the run to the bend. Checked off heels rounding the bend losing ground and causing an inconvenience to SOUTHERN KING. SOUTHERN KING (3) - placed in tight quarters early stages. Checked from the inside by ADOBE BRO rounding the bend. DUSTY'S INK (4) - squeezed for racing room in the early stages becoming unbalanced and falling to the track. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. HOMEBUSH RAPPER (6) - lost balance for a stride on jumping when brushing with MY GIRL SOFIA. Placed on heels entering the bend losing ground. MY GIRL SOFIA (7) - brushed with HOMEBUSH RAPPER on jumping. HOMEBUSH GLITCH (8) - began awkwardly losing ground.
