SPECIAL REPORT:

• This meeting was closed to public due to Government restrictions surrounding Covid - 19 and was run under Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid - 19 protocols for Level 2.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT:

Christchurch GRC - 10th August 2020.

1). Trainer J McInerney made application to have his greyhound ROMEO re-examined pursuant to GRNZ 55.4 after being stood down for Failing to Pursue the Lure at the above meeting. This examination found the greyhound to have a tricep muscle injury requiring a 21 day stand down with the endorsement under GRNZ Rule 55.1 cancelled however must still complete a satisfactory trial.

ALEXIA (3) - shifted up the track marginally on jumping contacting MINE HUNTER. Hind quarters contacted and turned outwards rounding the bend MINE HUNTER (4) - squeezed for racing room early stages. Placed in restricted room rounding the bend bumping MEGA DREAM up the track as a consequence. FIDGETY FEET (5) - squeezed for racing room early stages losing ground. Checked off heels prior to the bend. Hampered rounding the bend. SMASH ACHIEVER (6) - turned outwards when placing inside runners in restricted room early stages. Held up for racing room rounding the bend checking off heels entering the home straight. MEGA DREAM (7) - bumped up the track rounding the bend colliding heavily with ALEXIA losing ground. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury.
Race 2	Garrard's Horse And Hound Feature - C5 - 295	BIGTIME KISS (2) - jostled with BIG TIME JONIE early stages. MACHINE GUNN (3) - obligated to check off heels early stages. BIG TIME JONIE (4) - jostled with BIGTIME KISS early stages. ZIPPING HOUDINI (6) - placed in restricted room clipping the heels of SHAW LEE and losing balance for several strides. Made heavy contact with the rail entering the bend losing ground. Referred to the Veterinarian and found to have a wound above its elbow and bruising. STARBURST GEORGE (7) - shouldered with ZIPPING HOUDINI in the run to the bend.
Race 3	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Feature - C5 - 295	LISA'S BOY (3) - shifted outwards off heels prior to the bend losing momentum. SUPER OVER DRAMA (4) - shouldered from the outside by BIG TIME FAIRY in the run to the finish. TROJAN HOARSE (6) - hampered early stages. OAKMONT (7) - contacted from outside on jumping by BIG TIME FAIRY causing an inconvenience to TROJAN HOARSE. BIG TIME FAIRY (8) - came in at the start contacting OAKMONT. Shouldered off SUPER OVER DRAMA in the run to the finish.
Race 4	Kaisa Earthworks Ph 0272073323 Feature - C3 - 520	DARLA BALE (1) - crowded for racing room entering the first bend losing ground. Forced MISS ADOBE wide exiting the bend. MISS ADOBE (4) - hampered exiting the bend by DARLA BALE. STYLISH STEPPER (5) - slow early.Checked off heels first turn racing wide. GOLDSTAR ALASKA (7) - slow early. Contacted from the inside first turn by TROUBLESOME KEV. TROUBLESOME KEV (8) - slow early. Lost momentum prior to the first bend when awkwardly placed on heels. Shifted up the track first turn contacting GOLDSTAR ALASKA.
Race 5	Springston Hotel Feature - C4 - 520	OSTER BALE (1) - checked off heels entering the first bend. BIG TIME GINA (2) - placed in restricted room rounding the final bend before being bumped from the inside by KNOW DENYING and losing its balance. KNOW DENYING (4) - bumped BIG TIME GINA exiting the final bend. NEW NOTE (6) - wide first bend. Hampered exiting the bend.
Race 6	Flair NZ Bred Feature - SPEC - 520	LONGSHANKS (1) - checked off heels entering the first bend losing its balance and racing extremely wide as a consequence. BIG TIME BRIE (2) - turned inward prior to the bend when racing to the inside of BIG TIME VEGAS. BIG TIME VEGAS (3) - placed in restricted room prior to the bend. Again placed in restricted room entering the bend losing ground. GOLDSTAR MAUNEY (4) - checked off heels entering the first bend. BIG TIME SETH (5) - lost momentum when placed on heels entering the first bend. BIG TIME BABY (6) - hampered entering the first bend. THRILLING IZZY (7) - slow to jump. Bumped up the track entering the first bend before being contacted from the inside by BIG TIME ELSA. BIG TIME ELSA (8) - checked from behind entering the first bend shifting up the track colliding with THRILLING IZZY. Continued to race wide after checking off the heels of THRILLING IZZY forcing BIG TIME BABY to stay wide on the track.
Race 7	Christchurch Casino Feature - C5 - 520	EVER RESTED (1) - slow early stages. Jostled briefly with OPAWA NAT entering the back straight. OPAWA NAT (7) - jostled briefly with EVER RESTED entering the back straight.
Race 8	My Redeemer Distance Feature - C2d - 645	ZIPPING BOSTON (1) - checked out off heels exiting the final bend dictating EMGRAND PARK wide. EMGRAND PARK (3) - dictated wide exiting the final bend. KAMADA PARK (4) - slow early. FAMOUS LEE (5) - forced down the track early stages. MR BLACKJACK (6) - raced wide out of the first turn. OPAWA HILARY (7) - forced FAMOUS LEE down the track early stages.
Race 9	The Fitz Sports Bar 2020 Canterbury Futurity - SPECAf - 520	OPAWA CUTIE (3) - raced wide down the back straight. PEPPER CHIMES (5) - slow early. OPAWA SLICK (6) - slow early.
Race 10	Active Electrical Christchurch 2020 Canterbury Futurity Sprint - SPECAf - 295	BOLTY (2) - began awkwardly. TWO BE FRANK (4) - held up exiting the bend having to shift ground. MITCHAM PRU (5) - placed in restricted room early stages. Faltered prior to the finish line. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a torn gracilis. HONEY LANTREE (6) - hampered entering the bend. CALM INFERNO (7) - raced in tight quarters prior to the bend. NASSOR (8) - awkwardly placed to the outside of runners entering the bend.
Race 11	2020 GRNZ Nationals N.Z. Middle Distance Final - INVf - 520	SHE'S FOR US (1) - bumped BIGTIME COOPER from behind entering the first bend. BIGTIME COOPER (2) - bumped from behind entering the first bend by SHE'S ALL FOR US losing momentum. Weakend final straight. Referred to the Veterinarian with no clinical abnormalities found. Kennel representative B Cole advised he was of the opinion that the greyhound may have failed to handle the long distance travel however suggested he would derive benefit from the experience. BIG TIME MAPLE (3) - raced in restricted room entering the first bend losing momentum. Checked outwards off heels exiting the first bend colliding with BIG TIME LANTAO. Jostled with ROBSON back straight.Squeezed between runners prior to entering the final bend. BIG TIME LANTAO (4) - placed in tight quarters entering the first bend having to check outwards. Contacted by BIG TIME MALE exiting the first bend. Jostled briefly with BIG TIME MAPLE prior to entering the final bend. LEONARD BALE (5) - raced hard on the shoulder of BIG TIME MAPLE entering the first bend. KNOW STATE (6) - obligated to check in off heels early stages ROBSON (8) - checked off heels and obliged to race wide first bend losing ground. Jostled briefly with BIG TIME MAPLE through the back straight and prior to entering the final bend.
Race 12	2020 GRNZ Nationals N.Z. Distance Final - INVdf - 732	CLASSY WITCH (2) - hampered on several occasions in the run to the first bend. GOLDSTAR SYDNEY (4) - contacted by UTHOR BALE early stages. Awkwardly placed on heels first bend. Placed in tight quarters exiting the first bend checking THRLLING NINA UTHOR BALE (5) - bumped down the track early stages onto GOLDSTAR SYDNEY. HOT PLATTER (6) - forced down the track early stages onto UTHOR BALE. THRILLING NINA (7) - slow early. Awkwardly placed on heels first turn losing balance for a stride. Hampered exiting the first bend losing ground. Referred to the Veterinarian as a precaution with no clinical abnormalities found. GEM (8) - shifted down the track early stages causing an inconvenience to inside greyhounds. Checked exiting the first bend causing an inconvenience to outside greyhounds.
