• This meeting was run under Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid - 19 protocols.

SUPPLEMENTARY:

Wanganui GRC 6 March 2020: Trainer B Hunt was charged pursuant with Rule 62.1(w) in that he made a false verbal statement to Stewards regarding the late scratching of EPIC SPARK. Mr Hunt admitted the charge, and the JCA imposed a fine, pursuant with Rule 63.1, of $350. The full written decision of the hearing will be available on the JCA website in due course.

JUDICIAL:

1) Due to the unavailability of the usual Judges for today's meeting the Stewards appointed Ron Gurney to act in that capacity.

2) BIGTIME CHAMP (race 3 #2), due to an unsatisfactory performance today Stewards ordered this Greyhound to complete a satisfactory trial. Co-trainer T Agent advised that is his intention to retire this BIGTIME CHAMP.

Coursed wide through the latter stages of the home straight. BIG TIME TOMMEY (2) - slow away. Jostled with IDOL ANDY through the back straight. Bumped HARDCORE BRUTE entering the bend. ALLEGRO LINCOLN (3) - began awkwardly. HARDCORE BRUTE (4) - brushed CAVE WITCH nearing the bend. Bumped entering the bend, becoming unbalanced and checking CAVE WITCH. Raced wide through the latter stages of the bend, and home straight. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. CAVE WITCH (6) - began awkwardly. Brushed HARDCORE BRUTE nearing the bend. Checked entering the bend, in turn forcing OH MISS JORDIE over extra ground. Raced wide through the bend. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. OH MISS JORDIE (7) - forced over extra ground entering the bend.
Race 3	First Security Reverse Criteria C1 - C1 - 305	TRAJAN (1) - bumped ROCKONEVA from behind nearing the home straight. BIGTIME CHAMP (2) - lead early, then dropped out to finish some distance from the remainder of the field. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed swollen right carpus, not withstanding this and due to unsatisfactory performance today Stewards stood this Greyhound down to complete a satisfactory trial. ROSE AND CROWN (3) - slow away. Raced wide through the home straight. BIG TIME RUSTY (5) - bumped shortly after the start. HYPOTHETICAL (6) - bumped BIG TIME RUSTY shortly after the start. Moved up the track entering bend, forcing SMALL BOY over extra ground momentarily. Coursed wide through the home straight. ROCKONEVA (7) - bumped from behind nearing the home straight. SMALL BOY (8) - momentarily forced over extra ground entering the bend.
Race 4	Member's $12 Roast @ Hatrick On Friday's C0 - C0 - 305	WIFI SOPHIE (3) - contacted from behind shortly after the start. Bumped IDOL LUCY entering the bend, becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Raced wide through the home straight. WIFI SAPPHIRE (4) - bumped at the start. Heavily contacted shortly after the start, becoming unbalanced and contacting WIFI SOPHIE as a result. Raced wide through the home straight. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. IDOL LUCY (5) - tightened at the start, then became unbalanced heavily contacting WIFI SAPPHIRE shortly after the start. BIGTIME FRED (2) - brushed NUCLEAR JEWEL shortly after the start, becoming slightly unbalanced and moving toward the rail. NUCLEAR JEWEL (4) - brushed BIGTIME FRED shortly after the start. ELSA BLUEBLOOD (5) - bumped at the start. Jostled with BIG TIME ROCKET through the back straight, before eventually needing to check off that runner to gain clear racing room. Raced wide through the home straight. BIG TIME ROCKET (6) - bumped ELSA BLUEBLOOD at the start. Jostled with ELSA BLUEBLOOD through the back straight. THRILLING IVY (7) - raced very wide through the home straight.
Race 6	Aon Insurance Reverse Criteria C1 - C1 - 520	RAMBO (1) - awkwardly placed on heels nearing the winning post on the first occasion when attempting to move wider on the track. Tightened THREE OF HEARTS at the winning post on the first occasion when moving up the track. Forced THREE OF HEARTS to race wide entering the back straight when attempting to move up the track. Raced wide at various stages throughout. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. THREE OF HEARTS (3) - bumped shortly after the start.
