Weather: Overcast
Track: Good The lure lost momentum and was caught during Race 4 after being unable to accelerate into the bend. This again occurred during Race 9. After this race the lure was changed and thoroughly tested and racing continued without further issues. The Club undertook to investigate the reasons for the failures and will report findings to Stewards.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Nil.

Judicial report: Race 4 was declared a no race after the dogs caught the lure during the running. This again occurred in Race 9 with a no race also being declared. All races after Race 9 were delayed by one race. The lids failed to open for Race 12 with this race being hand started. As a result the remaining races were all delayed by several minutes.

Race 2	ADDED ENERGY MAIDEN HEATS - C0q - 457 Heat 1	GOLDSTAR WYNTER (1) - came together with outside runner into bend. OPAWA NAT (2) - contacted by outside runner in back straight. OPAWA JODY (3) - tightened end of back straight and ran outwards losing ground. Ran outwards on bend. MEKA (4) - came together with inside runner into bend. GOLDSTAR HALSEY (5) - contacted by outside runner early stages losing ground. Contacted by inside runner into bend losing ground. LAKOTA KOHANA (6) - ran inwards early stages contacting inside runner. Raced wide home straight. UNHINGED (7) - contacted inside runner in back straight losing momentum. Brushed rail into bend losing ground.
Race 3	ADDED ENERGY MAIDEN HEATS - C0q - 457 Heat 2	LAKOTA MICCO (4) - slow to jump. LAKOTA TONKA (7) - clear last on jumping.
Race 4	ADDED ENERGY MAIDEN HEATS - C0q - 457 Heat 3	This race was declared a No Race under Rule 52.1 due to the dogs catching the lure racing into the bend.
Race 5	TOP CLASS RUN - C5 - 457	MUST BE RUSTY (2) - badly held up on turn losing ground. PRINCELY GOLD (3) - dragged down on home turn losing ground. ZEFSIDE (4) - dragged runner down on turn losing momentum. KETCHIKAN BLUE (5) - ran wide off heels into bend. LORD LOUIE (6) - ran wide into bend. Checked and turned sideways for a stride home turn losing momentum. MAGIC JESS LASS (7) - pushed wide into bend. SHAW LEE (8) - last to jump. Pushed wide and caught heels of runner home turn.
Race 6	SOUTHERN LIGHTS AT STUD - C1 - 457	OPAWA PAM (1) - contacted outside runner into bend losing ground. BRUISER'S DAY (3) - contacted inside runner into bend losing ground then badly checked losing chance. Assessed by vet and cleared of injury. GOTCHA ROCKY (4) - raced very wide concluding stages. ZIPPING MIA (8) - last on settling. Terminally checked into bend losing chance. Assessed by vet and cleared of injury.
Race 7	NZ Racing Series Graduation (C2-C3) Final - NZRSf - 457	BARTHOLOMEW CUB (2) - ran outwards back straight checking outside runners. OPAWA MAGIC (3) - tightened by outside runner into bend losing momentum. THRILLING WATCH (4) - checked by inside runner back straight. KIA TERE (5) - tightened early stages dropping to rear. RAYLENE (6) - checked by inside runners back straight. COSMIC RUBEN (8) - ran inwards into bend tightening inside runner. GOLDSTAR ASHTON (9/7) - raced wide into bend.
Race 8	ORETI BEACH RUN - C1 - 457	KOPUTAI (2) - ran outwards through the back straight pushing runners wide. REGAL JOCK (4) - slow to jump. Ran wide into bend clipping heels in the process. MR BLACK MAGIC (5) - slow to jump. Dragged down for a stride entering the bend losing momentum. GUILTY ROGUE (6) - pushed wide in back straight. Shortened stride on home turn finishing a distant last. Assessed by vet and found to have a fractured hock and a torn gracilis with the dog being euthanised on humane grounds. MELTING WORLD (7) - pushed wide in back straight. HOMEBUSH CARL (8) - slow to jump.

REIGN OF FIRE (3) - ran outwards early stages. Raced wide home straight. TEE AN' CEE (4) - hampered into bend losing ground. DIGGER ACE (5) - checked early stages losing ground. SHANLY STAR (8) - last on jumping. GOLDSTAR MAJOR (9/6) - ran inwards early stages contacting inside runner.
