Judicial report: SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT:-

Otago GRC - 1st January 2019 :-

Stewards have concluded their investigation into the accident en route to the course which necessitated the late scratchings of CORNALI & TUBBY KEVIE (Race 4), OUR HAPPY JACK & EPIC OWEN (Race 5), SHOE FLY (Race 14) and SLY BET (Race 15) all trained by Mrs J McCook. After assessing the evidence obtained through these inquires, Mrs McCook was charged with breaching GRNZ Rule 84 and Welfare Code 6.2 in that she allowed Greyhounds under her care to be transported in a transportation vehicle which did not have a current Warrant of Fitness. Mrs McCook admitted the breach and at a hearing held at Addington Raceway on the 22nd February 2019, The JCA, after hearing evidence and submissions on penalty from the RIU and Mrs McCook imposed a fine of $1000.

Christchurch GRC - 14 February 2019 :- Stewards have concluded their investigation into the reasons Handler P Seque failed to have CROTTY examined by the On-Course Veterinarian post race after it was obvious the Greyhound had suffered an injury. After taking into account Mr Seque's explanation, Stewards issued him with a reprimand and reminded him of his obligations under GRNZ Rule 84 and Welfare Code 8.4 in that any Greyhound identified as having an injury during a race meeting must be referred to the Veterinarian.

JUDICIAL FOR TODAY'S MEETING.... 1) Trainer R Blackburn was fined $100 under Rule 45.11 as per the Minor Infringements Table after presenting DANZIGER 2.0 kgs above its last race weight on 21 February 2019. 2) Trainer R Wales was fined $50 under Rule 44.8 as per the Minor Infringements Table after failing to present the papers for SEFTON STAN. 3) OPAWA LYN (R Wales), OUR DAZZEL (J & D Fahey) and OUR SADIE (R Wales) completed Satisfactory Trials as required. 4) SONNY JEWEL (C Roberts) completed a Qualifying Trial in blinkers. 5) HOMEBUSH IZZY (J McInerney) was a late scratching from Race 6 when found to be in season at the stir ups.

GOLDSTAR DODGE (3) - tightened by inside runner into bend losing ground. NIPPA EEL (4) - checked by outside runner on dispatch. Tightened by inside runners into bend losing ground. HOMEBUSH COMET (5) - ran inwards on dispatch checking inside runner. AROHA (6) - raced wide home turn. OPAWA WAIHEMO (7) - last from the traps.
Race 5	Thursday Place Pick Sprint - C3/4 - 295	BILLY FROST (4) - tightened and ran outwards into bend. Contacted by inside runner home turn and forced wider. MERTZ (5) - tightened back straight then ran outwards contacting outside runners. Ran wide early in home straight. SHANLY STAR (6) - ran inwards through the back straight. RING CLOWN (7) - contacted by inside runner back straight losing ground. Ran outwards home turn contacting outside runner. DANZIGER (8) - contacted by inside runners back straight losing ground. Got on heels on bend losing momentum. Assessed by vet and found to have a split web.
Race 6	My Bro Fabio Distance Feature - C0d - 645	HOMEBUSH IZZY (J McInerney) was a late scratching when found to be in season at stir ups. BLUE SKY (2) - slow to jump. MIDNIGHT MAGGIE (4) - contacted by outside runner early stages. GO BRAT (6) - contacted inside runner early stages.
Race 7	Kaisa Earthworks Ph.0272073323 Dash - C3 - 295	HOMEBUSH INDI (1) - contacted by outside runners back straight and checked dropping to rear. Assessed by vet and cleared of injury. BOSTON POWERS (2) - tightened and checked by outside runners back straight. Ran outwards home turn. BOTANY ALAN (3) - tightened and ran outwards back straight. HIGH RETURN (4) - pushed inwards back straight making contact with inside runners. KALONGA (5) - ran inwards early stages. JADED AFFAIR (6) - slow to jump. BARELLEN PANTHER (7) - last on jumping.
