Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: 1). The meeting was postponed by Two races after consultation with the Veterinarian due to the temperature on course being in excess of 39 degrees with Race 1 being rescheduled to start at 5.04pm. The temperature on course was monitored by Club officials and the Veterinarian leading up to race start time with the temperature dropping enough for the Veterinarian to be satisfied that the dogs could compete and their welfare not compromised.

2). A Roberts (UMBRIDGE BALE) - fined $50.00 for failing to kennel this greyhound by the prescribed time.

3). UMBRIDGE BALE (A Roberts) - stood down for 3 months and pending a satisfactory trial after Failing To Pursue the lure in Race 6.

4). All available films will be further reviewed in the coming days and any matter arising will be dealt with subject to Rule 11.1 (b).

Subjected to a post race Veterinary examination and cleared of injury.
Race 2	The Fitz Sports Bar 2018 Canterbury Futurity Sprint Heat 2 - R/Aq - 295 Heat 2	KNOW APPROVAL (1) - boxed first. INSIDE AFFAIR (3) - squeezed for racing room early stages. Checked outwards and made contact with outside greyhound rounding the bend. OHOKA CLARE (4) - squeezed for racing room early stages. Contacted from the inside rounding the bend and forced up the track. BLACK TORI (5) - placed in restricted room rounding the bend and lost balance. OPAWA JUMPER (6) - slow to jump. Awkwardly placed on heels rounding the bend and lost momentum. GOLDSTAR SAWYER (8) - fell at the lure. Subjected to a post race veterinary examination and cleared of injury.
Race 3	The Fitz Sports Bar 2018 Canterbury Futurity Sprint Heat 3 - R/Aq - 295 Heat 3	OPAWA TAB (2) - slow early. FLOWER BOMB (4) - awkward on heels rounding the bend. MULBERRY MIX (5) - squeezed for racing room entering the bend and lost ground. Contacted from the outside prior to exiting the bend and lost all balance. Referred to vet and found to have a lost nail. FIERY AFFAIR (7) - slow early. Contacted the running rail entering the bend and lost momentum. Subjected to a post race Veterinary examination and cleared of injury. ZEPHANIAH (8) - came down the track prior to exiting the bend and made contact with inside greyhound.
Race 4	I Pave Concrete Sprint - C4 - 295	STAR BUCKLING (1) - boxed first. JINJA BRIAN (2) - squeezed for racing room and obliged to check off heels in the run to the bend. Checked outwards off heels rounding the bend. JUSTIN RYAN (3) - contacted from the inside early stages. PRINCELY GOLD (4) - inconvenienced rounding the bend. CHOP SHOP (6) - awkwardly placed between greyhounds rounding the bend and lost ground. KOPUTARA (7) - awkwardly placed to the outside of runners rounding the bend before being squeezed and losing all momentum.
Race 5	Nina's Girl Distance - C1/2d - 645	RIDE AIN'T OVER (6) - checked entering the home straight on the first occasion.
Race 6	The Turf Bar Dash - C3 - 295	GIANCANA (1) - had to steady when awkward on heels entering the bend. RICK'S TREASURE (3) - box first. MAGIC MIKE (5) - boxed first. Placed in restricted room entering the bend before being placed awkwardly on heels losing ground. Subjected to a post race Veterinary examination and cleared of injury. UMBRIDGE BALE (6) - squeezed for racing room entering the bend and lost momentum for a stride. Voluntarily turn its head towards the greyhound on its outside free of interference half way down the home straight. Subjected to a post race Veterinary examination and cleared of injury. Stood down for 3 months (2nd Offence) and must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming for Failing To Pursue the lure. OHOKA ANGEL (8) - awkwardly placed on heels rounding the bend an lost momentum.
Race 7	Kaisa Earthworks Ph 0272073323 Stakes - C3/4 - 520	HILTON FORABET (1) - contacted from behind entering the first bend before running up the track. Shifted back back down the track entering the back straight making contact with inside greyhound. BOSTON BILLY (2) - boxed first. Bumped with outside greyhound entering the first bend. MINA ALLEN (3) - placed in restricted room and had to steady entering the back straight. BARELLAN PANTHER (4) - contacted from the inside entering the first bend. SWIRLING PEARLS (5) - bumped from the inside then outside before being squeezed for racing room early stages. Ran wide first bend. DAVID'S LEGACY (6) - contracted heavily from the inside then the outside entering the first bend. Stewards will follow up the recovery of this greyhound in the coming days. LITTLE BIT FUNNY (7) - slightly dragged down entering the first bend. Checked entering the back straight losing ground. REPILICA YELLA (8) - checked from the outside entering the back straight losing significant ground. Subjected to a post race Veterinary examination and cleared of injury.
Race 8	Christchurch Casino 2018 Canterbury Futurity Heat 1 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1	EYREWELL LUCY (1) - contacted from behind entering the first bend and ran up the track. GOLDSTAR MARVELY (3) - checked and turned outwards entering the first bend. Subjected to a post race Veterinary examination and cleared of injury. LORD LOUIE (7) - held up for racing room rounding the final bend. Obliged to check outwards off heels exiting the final bend losing momentum.
Race 9	Christchurch Casino 2018 Canterbury Futurity Heat 2 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 2	KNOW CONCLUSION (2) - boxed first. EYREWELL TANGO (3) - bumped on several occasions in the run to the first bend. EYREWELL VIENNA (4) - contacted from the outside early stages. Bumped with outside runner entering the first bend. OPAWA AL (6) - shifted down the track early stages contacting inside greyhound. Bumped with inside greyhound entering the first bend. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the back straight.

PLATINUM MARSHAL (4) - bumped down the track early stages. Held up rounding the bend. SARAYA JADE (5) - squeezed for room in the run to the bend and lost momentum. FIRED UP JASPER (6) - bumped from the outside early stages. Shifted down the track in the run to the bend placing pressure on inside runners. ROSA TEE (7) - bumped with inside greyhound early stages. SERIOUSLY GRAND (8) - boxed first.
