Judicial report: 1) Trainer C Roberts was questioned in regards to the late scratching of PENALTY BALE at last night's Christchurch meeting. Mr Roberts stated that the dog was showing signs of tying up on return from Dunedin earlier in the week but on the morning of the races had appeared to have got over this problem. However Mr Roberts noticed later in the morning that the tying up problem had resurfaced and he decided that it was in the greyhound's best interest to scratch. PENALTY BALE was presented to the Veterinarian today and received a 7 day strand down. Stewards noted his explanation. 2) MERTZ (J McInerney) completed a satisfactory trial as required. 3) DOTTIE FIELDS (C Weir) completed a satisfactory trial as required. 4) Trainer J McInerney was fined $50.00 under Rule 47.4 as a result of no catcher being present to catch LEO'S SON after Race 7. 5) AURELIUS JEWEL (C Roberts) was stood down for 28 days under Rule 55.1.b after failing to pursue the lure during Race 7. This dog also needs to complete a satisfactory trial. 6) KNOW ANSWER (G Cleeve) and GOLDSTAR LINKIN (S & B Evans) were scratched from their respective races free of penalty after gaining starts from the emergency lists at last night's meeting.
