Judicial report: Race 9 - A false start was declared when the 457 metre boxes did not open due to a mechanical failure. All runners were removed from the boxes to undergo a veterinary examination and cleared to run. The re-start of Race 9 was hand started. Following Race 9 being re-started and completed Stewards reviewed footage of the event and declared a no race due the boxes opening prior to the lure reaching the starting point. All 457 metre races were manually started for the remainder of the program.
Race 10 - A false start was declared when the 375 metre boxes did not open due to a mechanical failure. All runners were removed from the boxes to undergo a veterinary examination and cleared to run.
Following a meeting with The club, Stewards, connections and representatives regarding Race 9, NZ Racing Series Novice Heat, being declared a no race a ballot was conducted to determine the runners to fulfil the remaining engagements in the final to be held Thursday July 6 at Cambridge raceway under Rule 52.7, with the following drawn runners to be drawn into the field in any order. OPAWA AL was not included in the ballot at the request of Trainer R Wales due to sustaining an injury.

BIGTIME ROSIE (5) - contact start. Shifted out making contact final bend. LOVER BOY (6) - checked leaving the boxes losing ground. TWELVE GAUGE (8) - inconvenienced first turn.
Race 2	Garrards Horse & Hound Sprint - C3 - 375	MINI BIKE (1) - began awkwardly then inconvenienced after the start. Tightened making contact for a distance first turn. Shifted out final bend making contact for a distance. Continued to shift out making solid contact throughout the final straight. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Connections were shown the footage of this runners racing manners with the head on proving inconclusive. ONE COOL CHAP (2) - unbalanced after the start then contacted from behind. SUN IS SHINING (3) - hampered start becoming unbalanced shifting in across heels. Contact for a distance first turn losing ground going back onto another runner. Shifted out across heels and into the line of another runner. ROCK LASS (4) - hampered start becoming unbalanced losing ground. Checked rounding the bend. BODYGUARD (5) - hampered start shifting in making solid contact losing ground. Bumped several occasions rounding the first turn. Tightened making contact for a distance final bend losing ground. Inconvenienced entering the final straight. TUMBALAIOO (6) - hampered start losing ground. Bumped several occasions rounding the first turn. Contacted for a distance final bend. Briefly contacted from behind entering the final straight. Hampered making solid contact throughout the final straight. WONG WAY (7) - angled in leaving the boxes making solid contact for several strides. Jostled first turn. BREEZE ATTACK (8) - jostled first turn.
Race 3	Hautapu Veterinary Clinic Sprint - C4 - 375	ELECTRIC DEE EYE (1) - slow away. Raced in restricted room for a distance rounding the first turn then shifted out across heels making contact losing ground. JIMMY'S ROCKET (3) - bumped start. GOOD JOB (4) - tightened and checked for a distance after the start. Tightened making contact first turn. Dragged down first KEVIN IN BANGKOK (5) - angled in leaving the boxes making contact for a distance. Tightened making contact first turn losing ground. Post race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left gracilis with a 28 day stand down imposed. ALL HAIL CAESAR (6) - Tightened making contact first turn losing ground. Checked rounding the bend. UNILEVEN (7) - bumped first turn. Gave ground rounding the first turn with a veterinary examination revealing a strained right abdominal muscle with a 21 day stand down imposed. KAPUTSKI (8) - slow away.
Race 4	Vintage Red Stakes - C1 - 457	BARWON RIVER (1) - tightened for a distance making contact first turn. ZIPPING KASEY (2) - contact leaving the boxes and again for several strides after the start. Checked entering the first turn. Inconvenienced rounding the bend and forced wider losing ground. GIRL QUEENIE (3) - contact leaving the boxes and again for several strides after the start. Tightened and checked first turn losing ground. Hampered final bend. VICTINI (4) - contact first turn then tightened and checked losing ground. Shifted out across heels final bend and into the line of another runner getting briefly contacted from behind. GRAVITY FALLS (5) - slow away. Contact first turn. Bumped several strides entering the final straight. BARWON STORM (7) - Bumped several strides entering the final straight. ALZHEIMER'S (9/8) - checked final bend getting on heels becoming unbalanced losing ground then shifted in making solid contact with another runner.
Race 5	YGOT Bonus Scheme Sprint - C2 - 375	GO ANDWYN (2) - tightened and hampered final bend losing ground. Post race veterinary examination revealed torn left hind webbing with a 21 day stand down imposed. AGISTRI (3) - hampered after the start. Contact final bend. JINJA LUCA (4) - tightened and checked after the start. Checked first turn. Inconvenienced entering the final straight. THRILLING ZAP (5) - shifted in making contact after the start. Solid contact first turn. Contact final bend. CORUBA CATE (6) - raced wide throughout. ALLEGRO CODY (7) - solid contact first turn losing ground. Inconvenienced entering the final straight. Veterinary examination revealed pain in the left triceps with a 10 day stand down imposed.. IDOL BUTCHER (8) - slow away. Checked first turn. Inconvenienced entering the final straight.
Race 6	Fond Foods Ltd Sprint - C1 - 375	TIGER JIM (3) - slow away. ON DEMAND (4) - bumped several occasions first turn. BIGTIME TOMAC (5) - contacted hindquarters first turn becoming unbalanced shifting out making solid contact losing ground. Bumped final bend. ON THE HUNT (6) - slow away. Tightened and badly hampered first turn losing its footing and considerable ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. ROCKY MCAWESOME (7) - raced wide into the final straight. SOVEREIGN JODY (8) - slow away. Hampered first turn losing ground. Bumped final bend.
Race 7	Palamountains Nutrition Sprint - C1 - 375	BARWON ANNIE (2) - inconvenienced first turn. THRILLING RIOT (3) - bumped several occasions entering and rounding the first turn. Inconvenienced entering the final straight. STAINLESS KNOCKA (4) - solid contact first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. Shifted out entering the final straight into the line of another runner. SCOTT TO GO (5) - checked and shifted out off heels after the start. ERASMUS (7) - bumped after the start then angled in first turn making contact on several occasions becoming unbalanced losing ground.
Race 8	NZ Racing Series Novice Heat 1 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1	SINGS LIKE ELVIS (1) - slow away. AUSSI JOSHY (2) - slow away. Shifted in making contact entering the final straight. Lost ground concluding stages with a veterinary examination revealing no abnormality. OPAWA LASS (3) - contact several occasions after the start. Checked entering the final straight. KIA TERE (4) - tightened and hampered after the start becoming badly unbalanced. Bumped back straight. Checked first turn. BIGTIME RANSON (5) - tightened and hampered for a distance after the start losing ground. THRILLING BILLY (7) - contact for a distance after the start and throughout the back straight. ZIMMER FRAME (8) - angled in making contact back straight. FUSHIDARA (9/6) - tightened and hampered for a distance after the start losing ground.
Race 9	NZ Racing Series Novice Heat 2 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2	A false start was declared when the boxes did not open. All runners were removed from the boxes to be examined by the veterinarian with all runners cleared to run. Following the re-start of this event Stewards reviewed footage and a No race was declared due to a mechanical failure with the boxes opening prior to the lure arriving at the starting point.
Race 10	Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Sprint - C1 - 375	A false start was declared when the boxes did not open. All runners were removed from the boxes to undergo a veterinary examination and cleared fit to run. OPAWA PENNY (1) - jumped in the air as the start was effected. ACCRA (3) - bumped start. MAKE IT SNOW (5) - began awkwardly making contact. Checked entering the first turn losing ground. CAWBOURNE EDEN (6) - bumped start. Tightened and checked first turn losing ground. FORTIS FLIER (7) - bumped start. Contact entering the first turn and for a distance rounding the bend. RISING HAWKE (8) - raced wide. BIGTIME HAPPY (9/4) - bumped start. Contact entering the first turn and for a distance rounding the bend.
Race 11	The Clubhouse Sports Bar Stakes - C4/5 - 457	JAZZBOY JACK (3) - slow away. Contacted hindquarters final bend. RAGING DEMON (6) - bumped final bend.
Race 12	Affordable Pet Accessories Stakes - C2 - 457	MULTICAM RANGER (1) - tightened and hampered rounding the bend losing considerable ground. ZANATO (2) - bumped after the start.
